We recently took delivery of our first ever motorhome, a Swift Escape 694, registered March 2025. It’s our 3rd time of purchasing from Salop (two caravans prior going back to Oct 2020). We finally drove it away on 8/3 after an unexpected delay due to change of chassis requiring approval by DVLA. We had a complimentary 2-nights at Love2Stay which enabled us to really try it out.

George Harris has dealt with us throughout the last 2 years, both with the previous Coachman caravan and now new motorhome and we can’t speak highly enough of Geo. He’s been brilliant from start to finish, kept us really well informed every step of the way and we feel as if we’re friends, not just customers. Geo takes such pride in his work and you can tell it really matters to him to see happy and fully satisfied customers leave the showroom. A rare thing these days we feel. Geo has a lovely, pleasant & welcoming manner and nothing is too much trouble for him.

We love everything about our Swift Escape which we’ve called “Essie” and can’t wait to go and have new adventures in her now!

From the initial order at the caravan show to the handover George kept us up to date with everything that was happening. We trust George fully and was very pleased with the deal he gave us, his welcoming personality added to the great experience.

Salop Leisure offers an amazing selection of caravans and holiday homes with great facilities.

We purchased our touring caravan 8 months ago and was advised that we had a great starter van. The cost of £18500.
Upon receiving the van there were a few “teething problems” which hadn’t got fixed prior to collection. One being the “motor mover” which as you can imagine being first time caravaners was a little daunting. We had to take the van that day due a trip we had pre planned with friends. Salop were aware of the date of collection and also this trip but still this work was failed to be complete before collection.
On our first trip - 3 blinds broke (by using them) we had a toilet leak, we got an electric shock off the oven ( a cable was lose) and we also were unable to sleep on the bed as the slats were well used and needed replacement, they kept popping off. We feel personally due to Salops “thorough and exceptional standards” these things would have been checked prior to our collection. What was also frustrating is a family member had purchased a caravan privately almost identical to ourselves.. a year older but without any issues for 8.5 k less than Salop. I was told the extra cost of our van was due to their customer service package. I still find this an exceptional amount in difference though we were having the necessary repairs and took a punt that when all was fixed this would be ok.
We have used the van a handful of times over the last 8 months and have throughly enjoyed our caravanning experience we decided to explore the market on Salops website.
We understood that part exchanging the van we would get a reduced rate on return however. 6.5k depreciation in 8 months is a little concerning.
I can only assume that the van initially sold to us was over valued (hence the initial discussions). Other than that I am a little confused as to how something can depreciate at such a vast rate. The van is in better condition than we received. The market value which we have privately checked is not far from purchase price.
It all seems a little odd.
Salop have been great with selling. I would suggest to all purchasing from Salop you double check the market value elsewhere.
The purchase of our next van will not be with this company.

We have dealt with the wonderful George Harris from 1998 when he was at Harringtons. This is testimony in itself as to what a special person he is, as this was our 5 th van we have bought off him.
He goes above and beyond in making sure you are happy with your purchase, nothing is too much trouble for him, a nicer person you could not meet. Salop Leisure Ltd are lucky to have him, as his reputation speaks volumes.
Also Peter who does the handover, excellent at his job, with a good sense of humour and plenty of patience.

Arrived on site Sunday, site allocated pitch all good. Monday 08.50 plant machines working on ground works opposite pitch.. till 16.30 constant drone and noise. TUE same again so asked to be moved to another pitch (pack up to move) moved as far away as we could from ground works but could still detect noise.. why when we arrived did luv 2 stay staff not advise of possible noise? The site had only a handful of pitchs occupied so they could have easily kept us away from works, Or advise due to works taking place there may be some disruption.. at least we could have made a decision when booking at £37.50 per night. On the up side pitchs are very large fully serviced inc elsan point. Toilets 1st class.

We have just purchased our first motorhome and had the complete pleasure of dealing with George. From beginning to end the process was smooth and trouble free. Having just purchased our 3rd caravan from Salop Leisure dealing each time with George Harris, who we have always found to be extremely knowledgable, kind and cosiderate. He is certainly one of the loveliest people you will ever meet. Nothing is too much trouble and he has
always answered any of our questions honestly and steered us in the right direction. He is never pushy.
The reception staff are friendly and greet you with a smile.
Peter is very informative on handover and takes time to ensure you are "au fait" with all aspects of your caravan.
The service we received from the whole team is why we keep going back to them. Having recommended them to our daughter, who has purchased her second caravan from George.
Keep up the good customer service Salop because you are second to none.

Although not local to Salop we decided to purchase a camper van from them based on the excellent service we were given by George. He made every effort to accommodate the initial viewing right through to final sale and collection. Great attention to detail friendly family atmosphere. Also special mention for Peter on the handover very informative.

I never normally take the time to write a review, but after the exceptional service received, I felt compelled to do so. My partner and I were lucky to meet George on arrival. We knew exactly what we were looking for. George was simply fantastic.We were shown an array of caravans, George was knowledgeable, friendly, and NEVER pushy. We rang George a day or two later, went back to Salop and purchased our lovely ( new to us caravan). Again the service received by everyone was outstanding, but George just stood out yet again!
The following week, we went to collect the caravan and was given a very informative handover from Peter. Although we weren't new to caravanning, Peter had a wealth of knowledge, and we definitely went home more knowledgeable ourselves.
We stayed on site for 2 nights at Love2stay just in case we had any issues. During the stay, the service staff were a phonecall away, and would arrive on site within minutes if you had a problem. The site itself was fantastic, we will definitely return there. Lovely spacious pitches, fantastic sunsets and great amenities. The showers and toilets were second to none.
Well done George and all the team at Salop. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you.

P.s the coffee shop is great too! We were offered refreshments on every visit!

This is our second purchase from Salop Leisure. From start to finish the service received from everyone at Salop Leisure is faultless. George Harris is a phenomenal credit to the business. Open, honest and transparent to every single detail regarding your purchase. He has the patience of a saint, no matter how small the question, he always came up trumps with the answer, if he didn’t know, he certainly went out of his way to find out. Perhaps you should rename him Saint George.

Could not fault the service we got from Dan Taylor at Salop Leisure and all the other Management & Staff we dealt with along the way, from our first visit to picking up our Motorhome, friendly, professional, helpful, knowledgeable and more than willing to answer our endless questions.

Had the misfortune to buy a static caravan from them a little over 5 years ago. Cost of van and balcony totalled some £50,000. Due to serious health problems we have had to sell. Salop offered us £11,700 for the van which in our circumstances we had to accept. So that's around £38K we lost. Had we accepted an outside dealer, Salop said we'd have to pay £3K to get the balcony scrapped to move the van plus I recall other bits and pieces to pay. This amount is derisory but noone at Salop ever had the courtesy to speak to us or discuss it, it was all left to the site manager to deal with. I noticed an identical van, 3 years older than ours, was on sale for £26k on another of their sites... I haven't mentioned the ever rising annual site fees - up to £5k next January - so if you are still keen to give your money away on a 15 year lease, just work out what £5k p.a. will cost over that time, and how many holidays in the sun you could buy instead. I notice the negative reviews on another of their websites have been taken down.

We can only reiterate all the previous reviews about George Harris and Salop Leisure on buying our caravan from them. Totally put at ease from start to finish. We left feeling George was a friend we had known for years, he listened to what we wanted. When we picked our caravan up the handover [Phil?] team we very professional explaining everything.
