Tredegar branch- very disappointed-put a Reserve on a Ford Puma 22 plate, we arrived and were taken to view then collect the car, big dent in the bonnet, bumper had been repaired-when I touched the bottom I had paint all over my hands, windscreen had been replaced badly and the rear bumper had been touched up with different colour white paint. Wow wow I asked for my reservation back and left instantly. Do not go to Ron Skinner......

I made a purchase in Tredegar store. They brought the car I wanted from cross hands.

Amazing staff at the crosshands dealership, especially the manager jack and Anthony was awesome they couldn't do enough to help. Highly recommended.

I made a recent purchase at the Neyland store and found all the staff there to be incredibly helpful. I felt no pressure to make a purchase and they spent a lot of time helping. Greg and Phil at the store particularly went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and I am very happy with my purchase.

we just bought a car from Ron Skinners and apart from the young person we see when we first entered the building the attitude from the other people was less than satisfieing. we wanted to pay for the car with cash and the attitude changed from being polite to being abrupt and got the feeling that cash was a thing of the past and think they wanted us to have finance which we did not want the attitude did not change when we went the next day to pick the car up and we refused to have the extra warranty they call gap heard a lot of negative stuff about that we also wanted to pay for the vehicle tax with cash but they said it was not possible to do that in my opinion they did everything in there power to make it awkward for us will not be going back there again and would urge everyone else to think first about getting a car from there

No wonder Ron skinner &sons have 2 star overall rating. Wish I read the reviews before going into the cross hands store!
I was pressured into buying a car with a “if you put a deposit on the car today I will take £250 off the car” So I put a deposit on a car that wasn’t even in the store. Then rung and cancelled before it was sent and refused to refund!
I rung the store x3 times for a refund for the deposit and no response x2 then told me I couldn’t have a refund only transfer the deposit.
Proper sales men style store, with big attitudes “Carl” even tried to say I cold leave a poor review- really arrogant man.
Would NEVER’ even step foot in that place again!
They even offered me £500 less than we buy any car!

Bought a car from here, it’s currently on its 6th drive belt as they keep snapping and car loses power all the time, have spent £4K extra on the car since bought it 2 years ago. Had to have break pads changed with Tredegar store after 2 months of having it and was giving attitude for even asking for them to do it. Car currently in garage due to faults with water pump and crank shaft. Currently spent £6000 extra on this car now running ok

So Went to Cardiff branch and staff are so rude! Went to part ex my car. They took they keys and reved the life out of it, my friend was in the car next to mine and said all you could hear was them saying rev it and see what you can get out of it so we can offer them less. Took 2k off the value adviced with no explanation, ended up keeping the car.
Constantly trying to sell you gap insurance, drive plans. Talking you into stuff. Have previously bought a car from Tredegar branch and the staff are so much nicer and helpful than Cardiff. Kids running around in the car park(which is expected) and staff driving cars around not even looking to see if there is anyone walking around so dangerous. Ask sales guys a question they either don’t know who look at you dull. Very disappointing

Bought our first car from Ron Skinners at Tredegar in 1997 when living near Bristol.
Over the years have purchased many cars from them and after moving to Camarthenshire 9 years ago have continued to do so.
Why, because we have always received great service from this company and it’s excellent employees and the most important thing is that we have never purchased a bad one, every car has been excellent.
Four years or so ago they opened a branch at Crosshands three miles from us. We had just purchased another car from Tredegar and two years ago we visited Crosshands but they did not have what we were looking for, so we popped up to Tredegar the following day and bought another excellent car.
After just over two trouble free years we decided it was time for a change and we had a look yesterday in Crosshands and although they had an excellent collection of cars there, we just could not decide.
So today we drove up to Tredegar and within an hour settled on an excellent Skoda Karoq and duly did the deal.
We are picking up the car this Friday at Crosshands as the very helpful and friendly staff suggested it would save us driving up to Tredegar on the Friday before Xmas, all with no extra charge.
This is undoubtedly a fantastic company and we look forward to picking up our new car.

Bought a Sondero on 18th Sept along with a Vauxhall.

Sondero was booked out as having 2 keys but only came with one.

Been chasing the spare key up ever since with numerous phone calls, plenty of excuses but no resolution.

I’d go along with other customer reviews- quick enough to take the money but bury their heads in the sand when it comes to sorting out issues.

I can see a bill heading their way for me having to get my own replacement key

Very poor after sales service at Tredegar

Had a great experience buying a car last week from Cardiff branch. Nigel was very helpful in finding cars that matched our criteria with no pressure whatsoever to buy, as was David also ! Had a great deal which included 2 free services which was a bonus. Will definitely recommend to others and will use again. Well done all, that's the way to sell cars !

Purchased a car in early August from Crosshands branch. Michael was fantastic in arranging the sale and Andrea was brilliant in getting the car up to Tredegar to make collection easier. Slight issue with missing parcel shelf but the team in Crosshands, specifically Jack, went above and beyond to deliver it to my home address. First class service from the Crosshands team!

After taking my car 6 times for the same repair and still not fixed, had to go to finance company for them to inspect vehicle (when I asked for a refund 3 weeks in was told they’d have to knock £2000 off the car! After sales are very rude, was shouted at and then told not to return because of my “body language” I suppose you’re not allowed to ask why they haven’t fixed your car. Was passed back and through departments, should never have gone back after they sold me a car 2 years ago which caught fire minutes after getting home

Well my granda bought a car off them as soon as we got home the car caught alight and basically the car was a wreck

Tradegar store- very unhappy with the sales team, being told numerous things by different staff which shows little communication between staff. Lovely woman over the phone who I cannot recommend enough. The place is let down by a woman who deals with the payments. She was very unprofessional and needs to cheer up, she even laughed at me when I was talking (she did not try to make conversation) this is followed by the manager who also displayed similar behaviour. Overall very disappointed and will not be returning

went to look at black suzuki swift at Tredegar branch
checked under side to see if clean and undamaged
under tray missing + fixings , non genuine oil filter fitted not suzuki so invalidating 3 year guarantee. this car had just been serviced by them buyer beware.

Just bought a car from Neyland garage and had a great buying experience. The staff were nothing but helpful and patient. They were not at any time pushy.
I mentioned to Phil that the rear bumper of the car I was interested in appeared to have been resprayed a slightly different shade although it was otherwise immaculate. He shipped car off next day to be resprayed without obligation and I put a reserve on it next day and was delighted with job they did. The staff we dealt with Becky, Nicola, Mark and Phil were all highly professional in their approach to car sales but were also very friendly and make great coffee. Now perhaps it's early days, something may go wrong with car, it may not but my review is based on what can only be first class service. I read one bad review on here of a car breaking down 2 years after buying it from them and then buyer slating them.... Really? I'd recommend visiting them to check out their cars... You may not find what you want but they can get any car there from one of there larger branches if you see something there you fancy.... Worst case scenario. You get a free and great coffee.

Do NOT go to Ron Skinner and Sons Neyland or any other branch!! I bought a car with them in March and straight away, was faulty.
Gearbox not working, Aircon not working!!! Car definitely falsely advertised, did not get checked before being put up for sale.
3 months of having the car and still waiting for it to be fixed. No ETA on parts.

Gave the car back and did NOT get all my money back. BUNCH OF SCAMMERS!!
Took money off the money they were giving back to me for mileage, which the car spent most of the time travelling back and forth to the garage. Nearly a £1,000 for mileage they took of the money given back. Car cost over £11,000.

Money did not go in when said. Chased it up and staff kept saying the manager was with a customer and did not see to care. Over £10,000 to pay back and seemed to drag their feet to pay it back.

Staff do not listen, patronising, condescending towards their customer when they have problems with the car and don’t seem to care.

Communication is horrendous !!! Don’t explain things properly, try to brush things off when asked what they are going to do.

Only good thing, is the mechanic who was professional, listened to customers concerns and generally wanted to help.

I have been a loyal customer to Ron Skinner for over 10 years, buying 3 cars from them altogether.

My current car I bought which I’ve had for less than 2 years, broke down on me last week and the engine has gone
Completely! It’s going to cost £6,500 to fix!!!!! The car is only 5 years old and only done 55,000 miles!!!!!!!! It’s got full service history and it’s been maintained and looked after properly!

The customer service skills from them have been appalling, they couldn’t care less that I have 2 kids to get around and a job to get to refusing to give me a courtesy car!
My car has had problems from day 1 with them, which I repeatedly told them about, the dash was like a Christmas tree filled with lights all the time! The engine management light, service light, oil light kept coming on all of the time and the performance of the car was just rubbish, no power in it whatsoever!
This caused me to break down with my two kids in car!

They are unwilling to do anything about this or resolve any issues and expect me to pay for the repairs! It’s unacceptable!

I am now left a car that isn’t fit for purpose, underivable and a load of finance left to pay!

Appalling after sales particularly the manager (Jack) who had zero customer service skills! myself & family members have bought 3 cars in the space of 3 years & all had major problems, them being fuel tank, ad blu tank, faulty engine which caused me to break down on a busy dual carriage way with my children in car! The list goes on!!
Expect to pay nine grand for a car that’s only been on the road 6 months!! Unwilling to negotiate or resolve any issues apparent. It’s unacceptable!
I’ve always been a loyal customer to the company but in recent years I’ve noticed a decline on the quality of cars & customer service.

Only take a limited amount of cash, very little actually only £2000 max. No thoughts for people that cannot deal with the worries of cashless payment and worrying about there account’s information being compromised. I know where I’ll be going now. Trade Center wales
