I booked an apartment on Rentalia in…
I booked an apartment on Rentalia in Barcelona using the map function of their website.
When I came to organise arrival for the booking, it was in a location 2.5 hours away from what was listed on the map. The listing owner refused to give me a refund, and instead only offered other accommodation that was similarly far away and so unsuitable. I only found out about this 3 days before the booking was meant to begin, and they have penalised me for booking elsewhere to make sure I had somewhere to stay during my holiday.
The Rentalia terms of service state it’s the responsibility of the listing owner to make sure their listings are accurate.
Obviously in this case the page was completely inaccurate but they have sided with the owner of the apartment and stolen £1200 from me.
AVOID - not even the legal agreement you enter into with them is worth anything.

I remind you that it is not Rentalia that manages the content of the ads but rather the owners or agencies.
We always remind the owners to update this information but this does not always happen.
In addition, we always advise travelers, before making a reservation, to check every detail of the ad (title, area, map, details of the features, the text of the ad..) in order to have all the information available before booking. In this case there was obviously a misunderstanding about the location but the address was in the ad title, the agency took responsibility and tried to re-locate you to another accommodation. We regret that it was not for you and the whole situation.

En revanche, l'expérience utilisateur pourrait être amélioré et surtout le service client est déplorable. A chaque question, "Roumen" ne cherche pas à comprendre notre demande mais plutôt à nous faire la leçon avec une façon de s'exprimer relative autoritaire voire agressive.

Where to start? They show one price on the web page but charge a higher price when you go to book - in our case twice as much. We tried to contact them but the system did not recognize my username, even though it's on their correspondence. We filled out a contact form but the site did not acknowledge that it had been sent and of course we did not receive a reply. I canceled a reservation but got an email saying that the cancelation was past the deadline even though I canceled the day after I booked the reservation. I could go on but hopefully what I have written will persuade you not to use this service.

In relation to what you tell us, we would like to clarify how the calculation of prices works on the Rentalia website.
If no dates are entered in a search, the listing ads will automatically show you a price ""from € x per night"" that is obtained from the cheapest rate available for that accommodation, and may be based on the price, for night, fortnight or month. If, on the other hand, the search is made for specific dates, the advertisements on the list will automatically show a price of "x € per x nights", corresponding to the prices set by the accommodation for that specific season and duration. We hope that we have clarified your doubts.
Also, we wanted to let you know that if a traveler makes a reservation request and is waiting for confirmation from the owner, it is not possible for him to cancel the reservation because the system does not exist, so in this case the reservation must have simply expired due to lack of response from the owner.
Since it is not Rentalia that manages the advertisements, but the advertisers, we ask you to contact us and give us the reference number of the accommodation so that we can contact the owner to alert him to answer the requests and manage the reservations.

Absolutely terrible. Big scam. They are lying on the price. We booked a flat for 700€. But the real price was 780 as the landlord charged the electricity, the water and some pool fees. Obviously they don't tell you until you pay a 175 deposit so you're screwed if you want to cancel. Our landlord was a pain in the *** absolutely discusting!!!

Do not use this company
I requested a booking in Lanzarote, with the owner having 24 hrs to respond, and it looked like I needed to pay a 200 Euro deposit. If the owner rejected the request, or didn't respond within 24 hrs, the request would be cancelled and I would be charged a fee, with the remainder of the money refunded. I had reservations about this but did it anyway as I like the village where the villa is located. The owner hadn't responded in roughly 20 hrs, so with a few hours to go I sent another email to her. She responded quickly and advised the property wasn't available.
What I am really confused about is why I was able to request my dates if the property wasn't available. This does not seem right. I don't blame the owner, but instead Realista. Also, I have checked my bank account and I have a pending payment of 365 Euros, rather than 200 Euros, to Availbook (Realista's booking system I guess). Why did they take almost double what I was expecting? I ought to receive a full refund as I should not have been able to select the dates if the villa was not available. If the owner had rejected my booking because they didn't feel I was a good fit for the villa that is one thing, but being able to request dates that were not available is completely different. I feel like I have been scammed, please don't let this happen to you.
Beware using this site, I should have listened to my gut.

Dreadful company
Booked a property with them on NYE 2024 and paid a deposit (€54).
Rentalia couldn’t confirm the booking with the owner and they told me that my deposit would be refunded.
The deposit was never returned despite emails and using their awful help centre- absolutely dreadful company and would never use them again.

Lo peor... no consigues reservas por ellos y cuando entra una solicitud e indicas que no quieres me llevan molestando y persiguiendo por su comision que es lo unico que les importa, porque al final quieren ser un PMS y no llegan ni a ser portal...

Para nosotros es muy importante que los anuncios estén actualizados (precios y disponibilidad del calendario) por esta razón siempre nos ponemos en contacto con los propietarios, cuando rechazan una reserva, para ayudarle en actualizar las informaciones que no tiene actualizadas lo antes posible y evitar así malentendidos con los viajeros.

Le hecho reserva en pagina web y me salió apartamento como disponible en las fechas y me cobraron mitad sobre la marcha pero salió pendiente aceptación por propietario lo que no indicado fuera antes de cobrar que tenemos que esperar por esto, luego dia siguiente salió como rechazado el propietario mando mensaje que confirmar por error de datos como mínimo dias o algo pero mando mensaje que adjunto “La reserva 34B8FCFC9E del alojamiento Apartamento para 2-4 personas a 1.8 km de la playa que estaba pendiente de confirmación por el propietario ha sido rechazada.
El motivo que ha llevado a esta anulación es: El propietario ha rechazado la reserva indicando que al parecer alguno de los datos de capacidad, tarifas, estancia mínima no estaba bien configurados. Abbiamo richiesto al gestore dell'alloggio di correggere gli errori il prima possibile..
Si el propietario te ha sugerido realizar la reserva fuera del sistema de AvaiBook te recordamos que para ti el servicio de AvaiBook es totalmente gratuito y te ofrece una seguridad y garantías que otras formas de pago no te ofrecen. Lo que veo el razon de cancelación es distinto en mi opinon no esta fiable soy local de aqui pero imagina que la persona viene de fuera como sentiría que su reserva ha sido cancelada y tiene que poner condiciones antes de reserva que no esta confirmada hasta que propietario acepta mejor usar trivago o booking paginas donde de dan confianza de reserva nunca ha visto este tipo de servicio ni quiero dar ningún estrella lo pongo mi contacto si la agencia quiere hablar conmigo 0034617586645

Lamentamos mucho lo que nos comentas.
Antes de todo queríamos aclararte que Rentalia no gestiona las viviendas y son los propietarios los que publican sus precios y las fechas de estos precios. La gran mayoría tiene esta información al día pero algunas viviendas aparecen sin actualizar, por ello facilitamos el contacto del anunciante para confirmar esta información.
Respecto a la reserva cod. 34B8FCFC9E se trata de una reserva "on request" y por lo tanto siempre hay que esperar a que el propietario acepte la solicitud (tiene un plazo de 24 horas) que es diferente respecto a la tipologia de reserva con "istant booking".
De toda forma, el anticipo viene bloqueado para un plazo de 24 horas y luego se desbloquea automáticamente si la reserva no es aceptada por el propietario o si viene cancelada, como en este caso.
Se te ingresará el importe del anticipo dentro de un máximo de siete días laborables.
Si sigues teniendo dudas o si no recibes dentro de un maximo de siete dias laborables el importe a tu cuenta te pedimos de volvernos a contactar para que podamos ayudarte de la mejor forma.

Llevo mas de 10 años usando esta web para alquilar mis apartamentos y nunca me ha fallado. Solamente la uso para ofertar mi apartamento, pues prefiero pues las reservas me gusta hacerlas a mi directamente con el fututo cliente.
