Really don’t have the energy to leave even a 1 star review about this shambolic thieving company, BUT hopefully some poor soul will read this along with the other plentiful 1 star reviews and AVOID! Making the mistake I just did.

So!!!!! Let’s begin my story of unfortunate events.

I was looking on comparison sites to insure my motorcycle and these guys came top of the tree. Thinking I’d save some pennies I decide to give them ago so I pay my deposit, get a confirmation email of payment also stating (policy documents would be soon to follow)

All well and good I hop on my beast of a bike and go out on a jolly, I get back and check my emails no! Policy documents a little voice in my head says call them something isn’t right (shame this little voice wasn’t present before purchasing) anyway I call this SHAMBOLIC company to confirm all is good.

After being passed from pillar to post telling my life story each and every time for what seemed like a life time. I’ll state the people or potential creatures on the other end had the IQ of a bean! I get told the policy isn’t active. Oh dear so I’ve just been out on my bike uninsured, I ask so what would have happened if I crashed, got pulled or even worse hit and killed somebody.

Couldn’t reply, all this time I’ve been talking to a receptionist 🤦🏻‍♂️ Naturally been with these clowns for a matter of hours and given my experience already I wish to cancel. (Well within cool off period) again I experience talking to just about every member and department at this stinking cesspit but not cancellations strange huh! Also phone lines going dead, pretending they could not here me. This went on for around an hour or. Couldn’t get through what so ever, I end the call.

NOW, ten minutes later I check emails my policy docs come through.

Asking me to confirm a multitude of different documents, anyway again I do this 🤦🏻‍♂️ For them to be sent back needing more information.

Finally decide once and for all to cancel, I call them policy now active. Why do you know I get straight through to cancellations, that’s ODD!

Going ahead with cancellation the creatures do some fine mathematical equations probably using google number generator.

This is the amount it cost me to rid this plague.

Lost Deposit £43.00
Cancellation free £60.00
Time on cover (1day) £40.00 not sure how that works because Yearly amount was just over £200.

Total to cancel £143.00 for 1 day cover, criminal isn’t it! They even offer me a repayment plan, I payed really feel like I’ve dodged a bullet here, I couldn’t possibly imagine what would have been if I ever did need to claim.

I’ve since went with Bennett’s, very professional and everything happens immediately. I’m now content I’m covered

Please girls and guys, read this along with others and steer clear of these morons all they are is conmen.

They make it so difficult to obtain the insurance you cancel, this is what they want so they can charge the world.

Stay away, pay a bit more and actually know your covered.

I’ve already spoken to citizens advice, and currently in contact with FCA.

Oh my gosh! I will make it quick...do not do it!!

I paid for my policy in full for the year approx £470. I changed address which was 2 miles down the road. They wanted to charge me £327 in addition to my annual payment, this included £35 admin fee, yes to change my address!!

So I have rang up today to cancel this insurance (it was cheaper to take out another policy). Cancellation fee £60, the underwriter Zenith Insurance then retains 15% of the returned premium oh and of course the length of time I have had the policy just over 4 months.

Low quality at its best!

Update: 10 June 2021: It takes 30 days for your money to be refund...

Paid for a years insurance then changed car. Quoted £2400 a year for my new car (£424 on Go Compare), then charged me £40 to cancel even though I had 4 months insurance left on the old car. Be careful dealing with this company

Absolute bag of spanners this outfit.

Bought a policy, they doubled the charge and started taking payments without me approving the increase. Took 7 months to correct it and when they did, the system didn't process the refund. Over £1,000 of my money taken.

Cancelled my policy today - the admin charge to cancel costs more than the remaining three months of cover I have left... I suggested I just let the policy run to a close, they said the charge would increase after 30 days.

They just need a lion tamer and a tight-rope walker and they've got the full act sorted.

Generally the worst financial service company I've come across. They only act when you threaten to get the regulator involved.

Absolute worst!!! They lie and use legal terms to try and confuse you when it comes down to it you are not really covered for anything. All they have done is take my money every month charge a ridiculous amount of money for any little changes. NEVER EVER use this company again. Always go through insurers directly!!

Scamers!They use people to rip them off!You make the insurance,you pay the deposit qnd then they cancelled it and take more fees for cancelling the policy!The moust disgracefully company ever,the shitiest ive worked with!

Avoid this company at all costs. I arranged the insurance for my partner through this company and they decided to cancel his policy in less than two hours and will be charging him £60.00 for cancellation fee when the documents were not even sent.

Sharp practice scam merchants, read the small small print and read the review, any excuse to wind up the charges or blackmail you into cancelling the poicy and charge excessive excessive cancellation charges, more than the cost of the policy. Dishonest practices beyond description !!! - they know what they're doing are little different to the phone scammers.

First mistake was not to read the reviews for RCIB!!!!

I set up my wife's car insurance on line and indicated 20 years NCB. I paid the premium for the policy and then found that my wife's previous Insurer renewal was only showing 16 years NCB. When RCIB rang me to validate the policy they then told me I had to pay an extra £44 for the difference of 4 years NCB.

RCIB's terms and conditions state that if you wish to cancel the policy (even though I had only just paid the premium) it would cost £60.

On principle, even though it cost me £60 I have cancelled the policy.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Avoid this company at all costs they have just ripped of my wife. £60 cancellation fee charged due to hiding behind a technicality in there terms and conditions during the cooling of period. I can’t believe compare the market have them on there website. They offer the cheapest quote on the website then stitch you up when they call to check your details don’t be fooled.

Wow didn't realise compaies like this still exist and come up on compafethemarket. Bought insurance for my bike 27 march thought no more had accident police involved who checked insurance database to discover I'm not insured. Check my bank and not only have they taken full amount of £96.60 but also another payment end on April for £27. Police spoke to them and they say they cancelled my policy after not sending in documents to them but I've never had an email and they say they asked for NCD proof but i declared i had non anyway. Total scam to be dealt with by ombudsman and police. Where that leaves my claim who knows.

This company is a joke and a scam! They make you buy some car insurnace then say they can’t help you after you have paid but still quick to take your deposit! As a single mum who’s just gone back to work after lockdown I’m struggling but even worst struggling now Down in money. I suffer from anxiety which now it’s over the roof thanks to them. I am so upset and angry!

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me finding fake Information then cancelling however the first time I did get a refund back but this time they are telling me I’m not! Disrespectful and disgusting company, don’t care about no one but themselves.

How bad! They are the biggest scam ever!! I would never ever look at these again!!

Hidden £60.00 Admin fee if you choose to cancel within the cooling off period. Insure with anyone else.

Similar situation, bought and paid for car insurance to start in 6 days, ten minutes later wanted to cancel and was told to do so I would only receive refund minus £60 admin fee. Citizens advice told me that under consumer contracts act 2013 there should be cooling off period and they should refund in full but RCIB insist that this is still payable even with cooling off period.

Had my first year with them on my bike and found out it was insured under the wrong name so I wasn't insured for a year. Then this year, I tell them I want to insure my bike for a month. I get told that I pay half of the price this month and half the next and that I would get a refund after cancellation. I go to cancel the insurance today but nope, they kept half of the money and said I had an outstanding debt of £16 on top of half of the years insurance. Crafty people, would avoid at all costs. Could only imagine how much they would help you if you were involved in an accident.

I thought the day of backstreet insurance brokers had long gone. This outfit are nothing more than scammers. I took out a policy, paid for said policy. Then had to undergo interrogation by a guy called Sean who advised me my policy was going to be £60 extra. Scammers

Avoid !!! Worst company ever. Bad customer service. Started new policy, when received the confirmation email, around £180 extra than the site montly quote. Request call back, nobody called for days, when called the company, actually they were claiming the house i live doesn't have drive, after i send pictures to prove the drive is present, the agent resolved the quote, but actually done it for one payment only, i received bank notification around £1000 taken from my account, even the direct debit was created already. After that every month i receive notification for no payment "Cancelation - Financial Query", even the insurance is paid. And every month i have to call the company to resolve the issue, and they resolved it just for the month, even i told them to resolve it for good so i don't havr this kind of issues every month.

Please please dont ever use this company, bought the insurance policy on line, then had to ring them to verify who i was, then take pictures of my car on my drive to prove it was a drive as apparently drives are only at the front of a property!!! And then sent my proof of no claims which even after sending it they were hounding me for it. I then received a text saying they were going to cancel my insurance as I hadn't sent a photo of my driving licence - which they had never asked for. I then sent a picture to of my driving licence for them to say it wasn't clear enough, I then received a text and email to say they had cancelled my insurance. Part of me was relieved as I've never dealt with such a unprofessional business. Since cancelling they have just taken £180 out of my account for a cancellation fee, so just over two weeks car insurance has cost £245!!!

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE OF ALL THE BAD REVIEWS !!!!!
This company has so many bad reviews for a reason. I have suffered the same complaint as thousands of others. This company is running a scam.

1: I take out a policy online with facts that I know to be true
2: I am served with a 7 day notification to cancel my policy from RCIB
3: I call RCIB to rectify the matter only to find the information contained within your policy is completely different to that supplied in my application and a fresh quote needs to be applied.
4: My new quote is twice the original price and

PAY UP OR ELSE!

Your insurance will be canceled and you will receive a black mark on the insurance database,

£160 will be deducted from your refund for RCIB's troubles,

You will be uninsured with immediate effect.

PAYING UP IS NOT THE END OF THE PROBLEM. The information that appears in your new policy is somehow yet again mysteriously incorrect rendering the new policy void.

I chose this company because they courier car insurance. They gave me a reasonable quote and I paid the annual premium. The next day, before the policy took effect, they called me to say that they couldn't insure me. I asked about a refund and was told there would be a £60 cancellation fee. As the policy hadn't yet started, how could there be a cancellation fee? They were adamant and so I said that I would contact Trading Standards and also asked for details of their complaints procedure. A few minutes later they called me back to say that I would get a full refund. One positive note was that the refund was paid within a few days.
