Client d'affaires depuis 34 ans, j'ai fermé mes 2 comptes affaires le 3 juillet 2024 pour passer à la Banque Nationale. Leur banque en ligne date de 2000 et est complètement dépassée en 2024. De plus, mes pages web passent du français à l'anglais, retourne au français, dépendant du clic demandé. Pour transférer de l'argent entre 2 comptes BR affaires, on est limité à 10 000$ par jour! Une vraie farce! Sinon se présenter en succursale. Nous sommes en 2024, pas en 1990. Et c'est la plus grosse banque au Canada? Leur règne achève...

When I received my payroll deposit, I took a mental note of the total on that date on my R.B.C. App. A few days later, after several purchases I acquired a paper statement and the total after the payroll deposit (paper statement) did not match the total on the app total, it was about $40. Less. And this in not the only time this happened, there were other times my account was short missing funds, though they are small amounts, they are still missing. Into the bank and told the teller.I know you won't be able to solve the problem and you cannot do nothing about it. I know the total i saw and that you won't be able to do anything about it,I realized that, But I took a mental note at the amount and it did not match in the written statement and it's missing forty bucks at that time. They offer you $300 to open an account there with a few requirements.But the more than got that three hundred dollars back from me out of my account. I told the bank teller, I will not use my card for 30 to 60 purchases ever again, I will take 2 or 3 k out and use that, keep ing trake of my account from now on and told him R.B.C. Will not be able to rip me off ever again!! Furthermore near the time I opened the account with them, they sent me an email saying that " you are checking your account too much on the app, I was really missed at that, what right do they think they have to tell me that in an email!? I can't believe i'm wishing god damn crooked bank right now!

Had bad experience with RBC credit card customer service. In summary, there was a payment made towards outstanding balance, however RBC didnt had that record and send me an email about the payment for outstanding amount. Upon clarifying about this payment made, the customer rep still was stubborn on the outstanding payment ( without deducting the payment amount made).
More details below
I had RBC credit card which was roughly having balance of 1603$ in the month of April. As part of debt consolidation, TD had made a payment for 1603 on 19th April, but RBC claimed that they have not received this payment and projected me as missed to do the payment and sent me a letter about outstanding balance with 45$ + 12 $ as interest. I also visited the RBC bank on Thursday evening and got a printout from front desk (as my card is closed i could not view under my account) and that too didnt showed the payment made.
I made a call to customer Representative on Friday around 11 AM MST, and she at first confirmed that there was no payment done in April and balance is 17xx (( as I had made some transaction before the card got closed till 9th May). Then when I talkked about debt consolidation, she then said yes, she could see payment on 19th for 1603.
All I was saying to that lady rep was without payment of 1603, the outstanding was showing as 17xx. Now if RBC consider this payment then the outstanding would be less than 500. But THIS SIMPLE thing lady rep was not able to understand, As a customer I tried to understand her point of view and those were , I had still progressed to use the card since 19th (( the date when TD made payment) For which I asked her cross question,will that amount for those transaction done past 19th will make it still to 1700 ( because there were small amount transaction, which i beleive shouldnt be more that 300$) . SHE SAID YES . I again asked here Intially the outstanding as per letter received on 20th june 2024, was 170x.xx and if there was a payment for 1603 on 19th, with some transaction done past 19th ( may be 300$), will it still be 170x... ? SHE SAID YES.
I have been in Canada for more than 10 years, this is first time as hearing something like this, where service rep is not able to understand what customer is saying. Pathetic

So dont expect that messaging anything with RBC will help your problem. Its a waste of time in spending time in writing about this under RBC online account. Instead post in public forum so that atleast it helps someother about the consequences.

I’ve been with RBC over 23 years and if there was ever a problem the ladies at my local branch were always there to help. If I have to call customer service they tell me exactly what I need to ask for at the branch to save time which I appreciate. Everything has always worked the way I wanted it to and I love having the ability to do whatever I need on the RBC app without always stepping into the bank. If you like having complete control over your accounts RBC makes it easy.
What a headache
What a headache. RBC bought out HSBC Canada and my accounts were transferred. One of these accounts moved to RBC British Pound eSavings. Recent statements however does not show this account. I contacted RBC by phone but the agent could not see the account and the recommendation was to go to a branch. This is where the problem starts. Simply walking into a branch will likely be a time wasting undertaking, so I tried to setup an appointment? In order to do so, you must have an online mobile account. To set this up, one needs to accept RBCs online terms and policies which are very intrusive and I refuse to accept. No other option is offered. After much searching, there does not appear to be an easy way to contact this bank. Not even direct email to a general customer service agent. As a result of this experience, I will be looking to close all my accounts, once I can find a way to contact the bank.
What a nightmare
What a nightmare - in 45 years of banking on an international basis I have never experienced such incompetence. Completely process driven with poorly trained staff who no longer appreciate the full value chain of the service they are charging for and do not understand their own processes. Shocking!!!!
Better Service at RBC
I have been a member of RBC since my father opened an account on the day I was born in 1954. I have never ever had an issue in a branch. I cannot tolerate the virtual assistant. I am not interested in chatting with him for even a second. I want to be connect to someone. Actually the virtual assistant and I are going to have a fight. So back to why I still love RBC because they are always so helpful in Branches. I also have never had one issue with a person on the phone. But today was one of my favorite experiences. I went in the Branch in Sydney, Nova Scotia on Charlotte Street and was not sure what I needed to do to pay a certain bill. The lady that waited on me was the best. In 5 minutes she solved my problem and I was on my way. She was the teller at the Business window. So thats why I like RBC.
RBC Bank is the Worst Bank
RBC Bank is the worst Bank people I had this bill that I could not pay on june 7 so I made a stop payments for $ 12.50 on june 7 did not come out but on june 14 the same payment came out on june 14 with a stop payments even with the stop payments on the account know RBC is charging $45 of NSF on my account .. I have an other bank account with different bank this bank would never do this

I called to ask a simple question but ended up getting bulled by the staff. He made my day worse. Please do better next time, you don’t know what people are going through behind that phone call.
RBC has the most inefficient
RBC has the most inefficient , delaying system of applying mortgage prepayments! The promise was 2 ( already long ) while other banks immediately ! Then the promise of backdating the prepayment most often fail . Stressful . Dont go to RBC for your mortgages . It is a struggle . Problems notceven resolved so it becomes a continuois nuisance. Check out also the interest taken out . They are inaccurate .

My RBC credit card wasn’t renewed…
My RBC credit card wasn’t renewed automatically. Multiple calls later… apparently my account had been accidentally referred to collections (?!?!). Many apologies. They promised a quick courier of new cards. 10 days later they arrived by Canada Post.
Now, a flight booked through RBC Avion Rewards VISA was charged on both the credit card and with points. Many apologies. I am to wait 5 to 7 business to see what can be done. This doesn’t inspire confidence.
RBC has the worst online banking website/app
I've been with RBC for a long time but they've gone horribly downhill over the last year or 2. I'm very rural and a long distance from a bank so online banking has been my go to for years. But RBC online banking service is disgusting. I dread trying to use both the website and the app, have come to expect it not to work. I can only rarely access my account, and if I do I can't send e-transfers, or pay some bills most of the time. Their verification methods don't work very often. Calling repeatedly is annoying and most of the time the customer service rep is of little to no help, and some seem to have little knowledge of how the website/app even work. It's happened so many times I've lost count. As a last ditch effort to stay loyal I left a detailed complaint through their website. I received an auto response email that they received it and another that they'd closed the complaint. So I've given up hope, will be going elsewhere as soon as I have time to drive the hours to get my money.
Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else
This has got to be, the most incompetent workforce I’ve ever had to encounter. Why don’t you train your retail staff? It’s not that hard? If you need a bank, it’s not RBC

Je suis vraiment déçue de mon expérience avec la RBC. Mon conjoint s’est fait voler son identité et personne n’est en mesure de nous aider. Tout le monde se refile la balle. Quelqu’un s’est ouvert un compte au nom de mon conjoint et nous sommes incapable d’avoir des réponses. Mon conjoint est complètement découragé. C’est tout juste si on nous traite pas comme des menteurs et des voleurs. Cette banque nous crée beaucoup de stress! Nous n’avons jamais vécus une telle mauvaise expérience ailleurs. On s’est même fait répondre que la RBC est tout à fait dans son droit de refuser nos demandes. C’est un monde de fou! Les honnêtes gens sont laissés pour contre.Je me croise les doigts pour que quelqu’un puisse enfin nous répondre! Est-ce qu’il reste une personne prête à nous aider dans la hiérarchie de cette banque. Le comble, la RBC Mascouche nous donne une adresse email où écrire pour tenter de résoudre le problème et cette adresse n’existe pas! Comment faire pour être aidé par une personne en mesure de le faire? C’est certain qu’on ne laissera pas cette banque détruire notre vie s’il faut nous prendrons des mesures.

Pire banque du canada !!!!! 1 mois et demi pour avoir une carte de credit business, elle fonctionne une semaine et puis elle est desactivé sans aucune raison, service client inexistant, ils ne trouvent aucune solution je vais tout faire pour que personne n aille labas.
Experiences worse than getting a root canal
From the length of time I’ve been with Royal Bank, it appears as though the last thing they are interested in is keeping the client happy. Their red tape is ridiculous. Their business practises are ridiculous and getting in touch with them is like pulling teeth. Their complaint department is a joke.

Made a westen union transaction through RBC online banking on May 15th and it was debited same day but when I contact Western Union today they informed me funds could not reach to my family in need because RBC never released the funds to them, Callled RBC and after 60 minutes of hold first person said funds were not released as I have to visit the branch and when I refused he transeferred me to another person. Complete differant story this girl said funds were not stopped. So frustrating finally I just cancelled the wetern union transaction and hoping to see my money back . Will never trust RBC again and close all my accounts with them ASAP.
