I joined Pinecone as I heard they were a 'premium' review site paying £3 per survey, and was invite only.
It took me a long time to be accepted, so I was thrilled when I finalled got in.
After the registration, I was sent my first survey to complete with an ID and password to log in to access it.
I attempted numerous times and the details did not work. My account got blocked after a few tries.
I contacted Pinecone and explained what happened, so they gave me the same ID and password again and told me to wait 15 minutes.
I tried again and the same thing happened.
The second time I contacted Pinecone to explain the situation, I received a message saying that they are no longer accepting applicants and to try again in a few weeks.
But this made no sense, as I was already registered with them.
It's as if they did this purposely as an excuse to reject me, after getting me to fill out a lengthy questionnaire upon registration.
So basically free market research for them. They probably assume I will try to join again at some stage and then go through the process of a more questions on another topic.
This situation was a huge red flag for me, and I wanted to warn others not to be fooled by the amazing fake articles written about this company.
Stay away.....

Been with this lot since 2018. Nowadays they send me 1 survey maybe every 3 or 4 months. I can't log in. Takes me attempt after attempt to log in. Keeps saying password isn't correct or user number, but I have both written down. Finally I do manage to log in. Survey doesn't open. It just says in progress but it is not open. Tried to delete my profile and nowhere is there a link or any way to delete my profile. I spend more time trying to log into this site when doing surveys and it has been like this for the whole of 2022. That's enough now.

I am doing good

This site was great. You could cash in your points and they would mail you a check. Now you have to link your bank acct. and they send you codes with a pin to send the $$ to your acct. I have $110.00 that I have been trying to transfer and none of the codes or pins work I’m beyond frustrated and have been unable to contact them.

Ein miserables Umfragepanel das sich überhaupt nicht um seine Mitglieder kümmert. Probleme über Probleme und kein Ansprechpartner, wenn überhaupt erhält man Textbausteinantworten die überhaupt nichts mit der Anfrage zu tun haben. Die Umfragen funktionieren oftmals nicht und bleiben einfach stecken oder fangen gar nicht erst an. Insgesamt die schlechteste Erfahrung die ich bisher mit Umfragenportalen bisher gemacht haben. Es werden auch private Daten abgefragt die in keinem Zusammenhang mit den Umfragen stehen. Man wird forciert Telefonummern zu hinterlegen und erhält ungefragt Post, die noch dazu in einer sehr unseriösen Form und mit Rechtschreibfehlern ankommen. Das geht gar nicht mehr und daher bin ich weg!

Nicht mehr tragbar was bei diesem Anbieter abgeht. Ich habe noch nie so ignorante und unfähige Mitarbeiter in einem Umfragenportal gesehen. Bei Pinecone juckt es niemanden was die Mitglieder denken. Es sind ja auch nur austauschbare Teilnehmer. Ich finde die gesamte Vorgehensweise, die fehlerhaften Umfragen und die schlechte Antwortqualität des Supports einfach unterirdisch. Die Rechte eines Mitglieds zählen hier überhaupt nicht. Es werden ständig neue Stellschrauben gedreht um alles noch restriktiver und komplizierter zu machen. Für jede Umfrage muss man sich einloggen, solle sich mit einer erreichbaren Handynummer autorisieren und wie ich heute erst erfahren habe, einen Brief beantworten der in einer extrem liederlichen Form zugesandt wurde. Das ist einfach zu viel des Guten. Es werden Dinge erwartet, die meine Privatsphäre betreffen und nicht mehr nur die Produktbewertungen in Umfragen. Das war so nie vereinbart und stellt eine große Abweichung zu den vormals akzeptierten Vereinbarungen dar. Das ist nicht nur illoyal sondern auch sehr befremdlich. Unter solchen Konditionen, die nicht einmal ausreichend transparent kommuniziert werden, macht die Teilnahme keinen Sinn mehr. Man muss jederzeit damit rechnen gesperrt zu werden und dann ist das ersparte Guthaben futsch. Das geht für mich überhaupt nicht und ich bin ein Mensch und keine Maschine die man zur eigenen Gewinnmaximierung, nach Lust und Laune ausbeuten kann. Ich bin raus und kann es niemandem Empfehlen hier weiterhin Mitglied zu bleiben.

Terrible business. Dont waste your time with them, barely any opportunities and they really dont want to pay out.

Infrequent invitations and a convoluted rewards process make this not quite worth it!

Konto wurde nach stecken gebliebener Umfrage einfach gelöscht. Auf die Nachfrage beim Support kam einfach nur der Textbaustein, dass falsche Personenbezogene Angaben gemacht worden sind und daher das Konto unwiderruflich gelöscht worden ist. Eine Auszahlung die noch offen stand und vorher in Auftrag gegeben worden ist, wird verweigert.

Einfach nur ein schlechter Scherz, Klärung mit Support nicht möglich es wird nur in Textbausteinen geantwortet. So vergrault man ebenfalls langjährige Mitglieder - seit 3 Jahren ist das ganze eh auf dem Absteigenden Ast gewesen, Umfragen wurden weniger, Vergütung wurde weniger, die Auszahlungen haben immer länger gedauert. Da sind andere "nicht elitäre" Panele deutlich besser.

Meine Erfahrung zu Pinecon ist durchweg negativ.Sowas habe ich noch nicht erlebt.Hier wird ein unterstellt, falsche personenbezogene Daten angegeben zu haben.Darauf hin wurde ohne jeglicher Vorwarnung mein Konto deaktiviert. Natürlich wurden meine Punkte gleich mit gelöscht.Somit habe ich die schöne Zeit für die Umfragen umsonst investiert. Ich habe alles nach besten Gewissen eingegeben. Missverständnisse hätte man vor der Deaktivierung klären können.Aber da ist dieser Verein überhaupt nicht dran interessiert. Sowas ist meiner Meinung nach unseriös. Es gibt genug bessere Umfrageportale.Wenn man so mit seinen Mitgliedern umgeht, wundern mich die ganzen schlechten Bewertungen nicht.

Pinecone ist miserabel geworden. Die Umfragen kommen nur noch sehr selten und vielmals qualifiziert man sich nicht. Desto länger dauert es eine Prämie zu bekommen. Um eine Sachprämie zu bekommen, müsste man jahrelang Punkte sammeln. PayPal ist nicht mehr möglich. Wenn man eine Banküberweisung bekommen möchte, muss man sich umständlich bei Wallet anmelden. Früher konnte man Produkte zum Testen bekommen, jetzt schon lange keine mehr. Pinecone macht keinen Spaß mehr.

not had any surveys for a year, so thought id check if i have any balance left but the website doesnt even load anymore - used to be the BEST research website. but then you just got less and less and didnt get paid for some you suppsed to.. or got email and filled the survey to be told 3/4's way through "thanks but you dont qualify for this survey you just filled out thanks for all your info but you wont get anything even though we just took 30 minutes of your time"

I enjoyed the platform when I started, but unhappy about not getting paid for a survey that I completed to the end. The indifference and lack of apology from the person that handled the communication is also annoying. I got sent another survey, but this one is struggling to download and timing out, so I won't be completing it.

This company has gone downhill since I joined many years ago.
Just completed a long survey, but due to a technical problem their end it wouldn't submit. This hapened twice.
They reissued the same survey 3 days later (shows that it was a dtech problem their end).
They refuse to pay me for the time I spent completing the survey in good faith.
I agree with many of their other unhappy survey completers, they realy are a shoddy company.

I have spent an hour wasting my precious time trying to login to redeem my rewards. I am now so disgusted that I am going to get on to trading standards and the ombudsman

Seit vielen Jahren bin ich nun dabei und hatte lange Zeit wenig Probleme. Seit ca. 1 Jahr geht es rasant bergab. Die Anzahl der Umfragen hat sich drastisch reduziert, die Zahl der fehlerhaften Umfragen, bei denen man irgendwo steckenbleibt, hat sich dafür spürbar erhöht. Dazu kommt, dass Umfragen an denen man teilgenommen hat teilweise nicht gutgeschrieben werden und auf ein Ticket gleich gar nicht geantwortet wird. Fragt man mehrmals nach, bekommt man lieblos einen Textbaustein hingeklatscht der mit der Reklamatiom nur am Rande etwas zu tun hat. Immer ist der Teilnehmer Schuld, nie PineconeResearch. Nach Auslassen einer einzigen Umfrage wird sofort mit Kündigung gedroht.

So nicht mehr, es gibt genug Panel, die mit ihren Teilnehmern fair umgehen. Pinecone bezeichnet sich selbst als "elitäre Gruppe". Ich wünsche dieser "Elite" noch viel Glück, sie werden es brauchen bei Ihrem Verhalten.

Unfortunately, the many negative opinions that are likely on BBB are true. I had been with pinecone for several years when and after missing two surveys for a family member who was stricken with cancer in the hospital, I was sent an email that was obviously boilerplate, threatening me with cancellation because of “several“ surveys that I did not participate in over a period of two months. Can you imagine that? I wish they even sent me “Several“ surveys at any given time! After that lie, I was locked out a couple months later but emailed back The next time I got and completed a survey asking what was going on, and got back in later in the day, I don’t know how or why, I don’t know what the reason was, but now I’m getting surveys throughout 2021 where you KNOW they are complete surveys but at the end of them they tell you thank you for your interest but you don’t fit our family profile for the survey. Excuse me? We are not stupid. We know what a full survey consists of from start to finish, especially after several years if doung them. They might want to try that tactic on the younger stupid people who don’t yet know what the entire schematic is for the surveys. We know how they begin, we know how they end, we know when the smiley faces part is goung to kick in, we know when the like & dislike narratives come in, when ghey will ask if you wd discretely try the product, all of it. And when you spend nearly an hour on them because you want to make them as great as possible and believe in giving your best contribution for even very little reward, and then they hand you this BS…. Well, that’s an insult and a slap in the face. Ever since Nielsen took over it’s been a piece of crap, in plain English. They even offered $25 surveys at one point To soften the blow 5 seconds after doing one of those “your family doesn’t qualify for this survey even though you just took the full survey” scams, you swallow your pride and you do the next survey that came up after telling you to click the button and try again because you were promised $25 for the next one. That’s how they get the free one off of you to save money, slap you with that rejection right before offering you a bigger bone. Then after taking only part of the surveys in a multi part survey operation that will net you nearly $35 altogether between bonuses and surveys, they send you only two surveys for three dollars each and never send you the rest they claim was part of it so they didn’t have to give you the $25. imagine asking someone to use an inferior product and evaluate it for six weeks and then hand them three dollars. Is this a joke? They never mention that when they sent you the product either. They really are a bunch of scam artists now, and I hate to say that. No, it is not worth my time anymore. I am gone. I don’t let billionaire companies like Nielsen jack me around because they are too cheap to pay out a three dollar survey to someone who just spent an hour helping their client out.
It’s true, the site is so barbaric and out of date, and it’s also true that they don’t invest much in Pinecone. I can think of a lot better ways of earning three dollars, and that often just includes SAVING three dollars. Go cut out a few coupons and bring them to the supermarket next time you go, and that will take you LESS THAN one hour.

There really should be an option to give negative stars for companies who are taking a nose dive.

Surveys from this company seem to be less and less frequent, which makes me wonder if they are having trouble getting clients.

They certainly have a lot of technical issues; surveys often freeze up or lock you out partway through.

Sometimes you'll complete a full survey only to receive no reward. Contacting Pinecone Research about this will result in them insisting you didn't actually do a product survey. Interestingly enough, there is even a drop down option for not being given the promised reward in their "Contact Us" page, so it must be pretty common!

Worse still, these issues are becoming more frequent. In the years I've been with them, the frequency of surveys has dropped to roughly once every month or so (of which some will screen you out when you answer some personal questions as you're not a good fit for the survey).

I'd say there are also technical issues with around a third of the surveys, as well as the issues with them sometimes not giving the reward points you've earned. Taken together, these issues mean you'll probably only get rewards for two-thirds or even a half of the surveys taken.

When you look at the rewards, you get points equivalent to £3 per survey, when they choose to give the promised reward. Taking this in cash is a long and involved process where you have to provide your bank details to a third party website. Vouchers (such as Amazon etc) are also available but only in certain increments (eg smallest amount for an Amazon voucher is £5, whereas other sites will give even £1 Amazon vouchers). This means you need to get a reward for more than one survey to get a voucher.

I've found the surveys take around 15 minutes (if you give them some thought and give useful answers). When you factor in the percentage of times technical issues will stop you completing the survey, or you complete it but don't get given the promised reward, then the "hourly rate" you get for your time and opinions is actually really low.

Would I recommend them to people wanting to give opinions and get something back for them? No. The rewards may seem higher than other sites, but what you will actually receive for your time is really low.

Would I recommend them to a company wanting to do market research on their products? Heck, no! They don't have the technical capacity to mine quality opinion data from their participants. The actual surveys are poorly constructed, and their poor performance acts to disincentivise participation from their participant base.

Pinecone been one of the better survey sites I'm on. Been with them for a couple of years. Yeah, as others have stated, there's no Paypal anymore, which use to be nice but instead, I just do the Amazon gift cards which are okay. Not as many surveys as other sites but not a bad number either. A few I have gotten, have turned into product tests where I've made a few hundred dollars per item test and got to keep the items. Not a guarantee that this will happen to you but sometimes it does (does on a lot of the others as well. ) If you're looking to make millions of dollar, stay away from all the survey sites, but if you want to make a few bucks for sodas, then check out surveys!!!! Pinecone has always been quick pay out for me!!

After being a loyal member for a number of years I got deactivated for 'non compliance'. Wouldn't tell me what I did wrong (because I did nothing wrong) and didn't let me know it had happened. It was only when I contacted them directly that I found out. No idea if I was owed any points or anything. Dropped like that.
