Went to southeness in dumfries and the caravan was a shambles in sea view dirty carpets floor unclean dirt everywhere you looked dogs dirt outside the door also went to reception to ask for help went in girl on reception was on her mobile and ignored us till she finished her conversation with her friend they eventually sent a cleaner who was honest and said the caravan shouldn't have been let out it stunk and attitude of staff wasn't the professional standard expected would give it zero stars if I could update to this review spoke to a nice person at head office who have offered a part refund I also have photos of the accommodation

Isle of Wight’s lower Hyde park is where we have stayed for last 2 years and it’s amazing. Lovely and friendly staff always, they can never do enough for you always going that one step further. We are off back next year we love it here would deffo recommend this holiday park

Quick review of our holiday at Sandford.
On arrival we had no hot water, no tv, no WiFi, the caravan carpet was filthy and stained, stains in the sofa, the grill pan doesn’t fit the cooker and the oven tray had lost its nonstick and was rusty. We informed them of boiler, tv, Wi-Fi and they did send someone to fix the tv and boiler but after they left tv went off again and so did the boiler meaning no hot water! Second day of our holiday stayed in so boiler could be fixed but someone came out and said it needed a part and they would collect it and come back in the morning, tv and Wi-Fi left. Next day thinking boiler would be fixed went down the coast and the whole family came back dirty due to sea water and sand and yes you guessed no boiler ! Wife went and complained and they said nobody had collected the part for the boiler it was on order ! So by then we had enough and asked to be move but nothing was available. The manager agreed the caravan was filthy and days without hot water was unacceptable and agreed a full refund. So we had to pack up and go home. Now today being the 3rd day home nobody is answering the phone ! So then my wife used the number used to make a booking and they answered, she went through what happened and the person who answered said the could see a refund had been agreed but it had to be agreed by head office so I’m not holding my breath.
Anyone reading this thinking of making a booking please don’t waste your hard earned money and holiday days and fuel as you will be disappointed with filthy accommodation and things not working. I will keep you updated concerning our £1400 refund.

UPDATE = Full refund paid into my account which is great.

Stayed for two weeks on Vauxhall in Great Yarmouth, been going 26 years. Never seen it in such a state, toilets were filthy, had to threaten to contact environmental health about the elsan, asked for cleaners to service the cleaning facilities - took 4 days to happen then was approx. once a day every few days! Entertainments team we’re amazing but are very limited as to what they can do now. We ended up with 7/13 party members contracting covid. Site stunk of dog poop constantly. 2/6 showers worked after fixing them myself! Refused to let us speak to management on request and head office were absolutely useless. Will no longer be using parkdean sites or recommending them

A pleasant Site with nice helpful Staff but I do not think that it is suitable for older Children. There is an outdoor pool and a smaller paddling pool, on one occassion while we were in the Paddling Pool a man with two boys aged about 8/9yrs were all in there and quite able to swim. Why they were not asked to use the Big Pool I don't understand. Had there been a few more Toddlers in the Paddling this would have been an issue as the 2 Boys were jumping in off the side. The park area is nice but only has two swings, one of which is for Babies. On several occassions older children, probably aged 10/11yrs were on both swings. I felt there wasn't enough on site to occupy them. There are a few Gaming/Slot Machines and two Pool Tables. Taking everything into account, including location I think this site would be better used as Adults only.

Hi if I could give a zero rating I would, it took us 10 hours to get here we was really looking forward to this holiday but was really disappointed we went home 4 days early. When we got there the bungalow was not cleaned properly the fridge was dirty and the door was broken and there was sand in the carpet and on the chairs and beds, and the hot water was dangerous you could easily burn yourself using it.The next day we went swimming the pool was dirty there was old plasters and flies in the pool and it was small over crowded you couldn’t even swim. After swimming we went into the tiny arcade wasting more money. In the evening we went to the restaurant for dinner we ordered the we waited half an hour for the food when it turned up it was barely warm and it was so horrible we took one mouthful and left it we ended up making some toast back at the dirty bungalow. The next day we went swimming again for a bit then we drove to Tesco to get some food and a ball to kick around because the holiday was so boring the activities didn’t last long and was very pricey. I paid off this holiday because I couldn’t afford to pay for it out right. Do not book I wished I read the reviews before I did.the camp site was so boring we ended up going back to the bungalow to watch boring tv, never again!!!

I was supposed to start my holiday with park-dean on 29th June unfortunately I had Covid or Maybe fortunately for me, reading some of these reviews, and my own experience of lack of communication with park dean. I can’t remember if they rang me or I rang them on the morning of the 29th June but even after telling them I had Covid the lady on the phone still carried on a conversation with me. ( not exactly what you want to do when you are in the throes of a nasty case of Covid. What I remember of the conversation was voucher given, having to be booked by a certain time ? I also remember updating my email as my niece missed a bit off at booking. I have tried to contact park dean and have left messages asking them to contact me but nothing. I have sent an email with all my details on but no response, I’m not very happy and I haven’t even had my holiday with them. That’s a great start.
UPDATE.
I finally got through to Parkdean today and have now had information I needed repeated to me so I now know where I stand Thank you for the information I needed to put my mind at rest

Loved the caravan but the restaurant reedcutters has gone down in quality. No longer was there the fresh fish bar everything was fast food and expensive. Always enjoyed Vauxhall before but will not be returning quickly in the future which is a shame

Keep going back to st minver as we love the location, we stay in a lodge on the glade. The lodge is very clean and great to be in but compared to other Parkdean sites it’s very rundown eg club house pool area, we will return to st minver as we know what we are getting but it is a real shame that it’s not up to the standards of other parks.

Me my wife and 3 children use our touring caravan at parkdean resorts but we use tymaw Park most weekends. We went away on Thursday gone to get to our pitch and find dirty nappies all over it we spoke to someone and they asked us to use another pitch we were happy to do this. We set our caravan and awning up plugged into the electric and began to enjoy our holiday. The following day we took the kids out all day and enjoyed ourselves. But on our return we fou d that someone had unplugged our electric we spoke to the new caravan at the side off us and they said that there electric would not reach so security unplugged our. We lost all the food that we had for the weekend. I went to reception and informed them off the situation and they told me that they have not touched my electric cable but offered me £80 in food vouchers. I went back and spoke to my wife who was really upset due to recovering a break down. She asked me to plug electric in I went to plug it into another plug to find that ours didn't reach now. So I went back to reception and informed them my wife said yes to the food vouchers but my electric does not reach now. They told me its not there problem it's my own fault as I plugged Into the wrong electric. I said that's not right how your treating me. I gave them there food vouchers back and informed them I was going to leave and go home. I went back to my caravan and took my orning down for security to come to me and say they have me a spare lead. At this point I was not happy and said its to little to late I'm going home my kids and wife were very upset and yet I'm still waiting to here back about my complaint. Parkdean makes it really difficult to make a complaint. I will not be using parkdean again unless they resolve this situation that they put my family through.

Followup off complaint
We have been trying to get through to a lady called Joanne who works at the tyemar caravan park but she is never in when we get through no matter what time we ring and most off the time we don't even get an answer at the park.
But Joanne sent us an email on Friday at 15:35 asking us to ring her at 16:30 as she is available to discuss this issue then we didn't get the email till the following day.
I am now giving up with this issue as they are not interested in dealing with the complaint.
Parkdean resorts need train there colleagues in dealing with complaints and not just ignore them.
We will never use parkdean resorts again and if anyone asks us if its worth staying with them we will advise them not to.

Park Dean Sandford - we were sent an email about contact less arrivals, but we still needed to be booked in, when we arrived. Also there weren't enough staff to deal with the towed caravans arriving.

The swimming pool was disgusting! There was hair and other things floating in the pool, the sides were filthy from people wearing footwear. And the smell coming from the drains, smelt like raw sewage.

The new toilets and shower area wasn't completed, so only cold water was available and no toilet roll holders. Thankfully there were more shower blocks available on site!

A few of our group has now come down with colds, sickness etc.

Won't be returning to this site, that's for sure.

I had to cancel due to my husband getting emergency triple bipass. I was happy to reschedule and decided to go for week in August once husband has recovered. They said it would be an extra £240 which I paid immediately. When I checked my booking they still had us down for 3 nights. Ive got record of call and screenshot of what extra I paid. Contacted customer service and even though they admitted their fault they wanted another £120. I refused and asked for refund. They have kept £150 of our money and still waiting on refund. Will never use them again. Totally unacceptable.

Go every year to Sea Acres near lizard , I went to a Haven never again have been going to a parkdean for the last 7 years never had a issue , caravans have always been clean and tidy , staff are always friendly and helpful .. the site is quiet love it … If you want a 5 star resort don’t stay in a caravan but for base then it’s great ..

Went with daughter and family last year to Bideford bay. Caravan clean, swimming pool clean and warm. Shop on site very expensive. Ruined holiday as on last day went to drop key in and car went down pothole and damaged. Single mom and only had car 1 week. They passed us from pillar to post for several weeks, we were told contractors had not left warning. It appears potholes have been mentioned by other review sites since 2013, again 2018. Told us to claim against our insurance, but would lose no claims. Said should have been informed when we arrived, but weren’t. No signs or warnings until we drove out when they put cones across the road to block it! Total rip off. As you can see from their reply they say much of their updates come from comments made, yet issues regarding potholes were made years ago and still remain. This rubbishes their response.

Cancellation cover is a con and would qualify for a daylight robbery. eventually you would only be covered for a very limited circumstances and need to provide a pile of documents to justify. Not what you need in current climate and ParkDean NEVER EVER AGAIN. Customers will remember this daylight robbery

Disgusting customer service just care about the money and not the quality or service they give. Went to there sandford park on 31st of July for 3 days with my 4 month old baby my disabled 9 year old and my friends one year and her disabled 8 year old. On the 1st night pulled out sofa bed and 1 year old very quiet and this because she was playing with a needle imbedded in the sofa bed, we complained all they offered was a bottle of wine no other options now I mean any of the kids could of been hurt, then to top it off baby seemed very stuffy and developed a cough and clothes seemed to be getting damp, we looked around to find several areas of black mould which my 9 year old actually had an allergy to when we complained they offered us 10 percent back so £56 this is ridiculous as especially these times they was supposed to have done deep clean Covid but these issues still arised and could of seriously harmed my children

I have been trying to book online activities for my grandchildren for two weeks. Customer Service is non existent. Next year I'll go elsewhere. Very disappointing

AVOID
We were forced to cancel our holiday as one of our children had to isolate as per the government guidelines, made two phone calls to customer services (1.5hrs waiting to talk) for them to confirm that we would have a refund, yet now they refuse. Unfortunately for Park Dean, we have the recordings of the conversations with their customer services confirming that we would be entitled to a refund.
Don’t bother with the cancellation cover as it doesn’t cover anything and they will go back on their word anyway.

Horrendous service, you can never get hold of anyone other than by email, when you do it’s only stock copy and paste answers 5 days later!!
No personal compassion or realistic responses despite keeping your money!
It looks like I’m going to have to go through the small claims court armed with my evidence.

UPDATE!!
Thank you for your response, I would have excepted 100% holiday voucher had that been my only option. The problem being myself and my wife were told by your customer service representatives over the phone, of which I have the recordings, that I could have a full refund this is where the problem lies. Don’t offer it if it’s not available!
The other problem is your response times, trying to get hold of anybody is an absolute joke!

As I have sent the recordings of the phone conversation, at their request, I would expected a response. After 2 weeks of waiting - nothing.
Very frustrating, small claims here I come.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
