unfit management
we have waited in all morning for an appointment to have an eatrh from my home to the ground supplied,an appointment we have waited for 4 weeks patiently to be provided.not only did the team not turn up to complete the work at the time stated they didn't have the common decency to notify us that they had changed the appointment to an afternoon one so now we have had to remain at home all day.
Our Tadcaster power outage
Our power went off and they attended very quickly when it was reported to Northern Power later that day.
The fault was more involved and it was decided that they would dig up a good part of my driveway and replace cables and connections, this involved a day team and a night team. The power was restored at around 2:00 am. The teams returned in a couple of days and filled in the drive and a couple of weeks after that, allowing ground to settle, reinstated the gravel. All the day and night team members kept us informed about the progress of the repairs and were very professional. Also, the customer service we contacted did an amazing job at contacting the various teams and providing us with great customer service. Thanks
Electric power cut in our street…
Electric power cut in our street yesterday, they came out and dug a big hole where they thought the fault was. They didn’t fix the problem by 10.00pm so they installed a noisy generator right outside my bedroom window and along with the workers talking loudly until midnight I hardly got any sleep.
Today when I returned home from work, I find that the generator is still present and they have also dug another big hole a bit further down the road. But no signs of any workmen at 3.30pm and it’s going to be another sleepless night with a noisy generator !
Not happy !!
Rude and annoying
Never call me first off. Always email as I do not answer calls from unrecognised numbers anymore due to spam callers.
But I would like to make a complaint mainly about a woman called Jenny who constantly calls at least once a day asking for my landlords number, which she has been already given three times as she says it's unrecognised which it isn't as I called my landlord on the exact number I gave her just a few hours prior.
So any work that needs to be done is not my problem I can't do anything about it if she can't contact my landlord, who I might add specifically told us on moving in to never give his number to any third parties or any energy companies.
Yet they will not give up. I blocked the number and get multiple voicemail calls from her a day.

After moving into a house with some seriously dodgy electrics, and finding out I needed some work which involved digging up part of my front garden, I was quite concerned after both reading existing negative reviews on here, and from hearing experiences from friends. However I have been really pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. I had two technicians attend for the works, Blessing and Tom; who arrived in good time, were so polite and respectful of my property, did an efficient and clean job, and took the time to tidy up any mess left behind. I wasn't really expecting this level of service. In addition, the after-service which I have received, from Andrew, of the Small Works team, has been as professional as it has efficient. I am not usually one for writing reviews however I felt this deserves a bit of a shout-out :) This is clearly now a company which is focused on turning things around and the customer orientated service has been second to none, in this case. Would highly recommend.

Won’t provide any assistance to someone on “LIFE SUPPORT “ Northern Powergrid will happily allow someone to die ! It’s not in their terms & conditions.
This company messed up on an electricity supply to our property. We will now be stuck without electricity for at least 4 to 6 weeks. They say they have no obligation to provide a generator or anything else. They also want to charge us another £2650 on top of the £8000 we have paid them to push this through quickly.
Also, they have charges for the cable, but they own it ?
I have put this in a separate paragraph because I think it needs to be known. I have received an email from them saying they are under no obligation to provide any service even for someone on “life support “ and this is in writing. Unfortunately I can’t copy and paste this !!
This company need investigating !

Had my Amana fridge/freezer PCB-board repaired by this company when no one else could repair it . They offered excellent service very efficient & quick turnaround at a very reasonable cost.Would recommend them highly to anyone with a similar problem & it saved me from having to purchase a new fridge/freezer. Power cut at about 9pm
Power cut at about 9pm 28th February. Contacted power grid very helpful lady on the phone. Engineers arrived within a short time and repaired the cable. I cannot thank them enough , excellent service, so efficient.

Exemplary service
Arriving home to Badgergate on Monday 12 Feb after an early appointment we found our path being dug up for an emergency electrical fault . On Tuesday the engineer fitted a new box whilst maintaining the power for all our houses .On Wednesday the crew arrived to remove the rubble and fill in the deep hole with new aggregate. On Thursday the tarmac team restored the path and another team removed the barriers .
And all in the pouring rain!
The organisation of this event was outstanding
They say British workers don’t have a good work ethic any more but these men certainly proved this wrong . They never stopped for a minute

Excellent service. I contact the 105 number got through to customer services who were very efficient and helpful. They sent a rapid response which was with me within 30mins identified the problem and got my power up and working. Fantastic.
Wanted a landlord electric meter for…
Wanted a landlord electric meter for communal area lights and fire alarm system . Was quoted 660 + vat for the design ( I only wanted a meter)
The work would cost around the £10,000 mark for it would mean bringing in a new cable from across the road and the road would have to be dug up.
I asked for options to this and the design employee said he didn’t know any blankly and just told me to cancel the quote or I would be charged the £660+vat.

Power cut resolved quickly
Power cut experienced around 7pm. Northern Powergrid contacted and attended within the hour, located the problem and organised the necessary work. Hole dug in road and repair sorted, power back on, within 5 hours. Excellent job by all, from telephone call to repair. Thank you.

These guys arrived to fix an electric supply that was reported at six pm when I can home from work to no power. They started at ten pm and left when the job was done , which was early hours next day. Job far from straightforward. They did a fantastic job to get supply back to my house. Can’t thank them enough

The team from Northern power grid arrived within the hour, worked through the day, till early evening. Working on digging up the earth and repairing the electrical cable outside in the freezing cold. They kept us informed on their progress and restored power to us early evening. Northern powergrid rocks!
Impressive service
My power went off, last night. Within the hour I had received an email reply to my enquiry, a phone call and an assessor visit.
I was told that it was a big job but a team was on it's way. Many men, vans and equipment duly arrived and began to work.
It did take several hours but I was kept informed throughout. They were really friendly and even offered to boil me some water for a cuppa. Those men worked through the night, in pouring rain, and restored my power supply. Really great service. Well done to all involved in the process.

More powecuts even though the weather is OK it is like living in a third world country. They always answer the phone calls and are polite but the constant level of disruption is not acceptable

I was just going to complain that my electric had gone off again. They said it would be 4am before it came back on. But I take that back. It's only been 10 minutes and it's back on. I'm glad I deleted it 🙂 thank you
