After having a power outage in our village for over 26 hours, we were pretty angry . No way to receive updates as digital phones out & obviously no wifi & mobiles battery's dead. Northern power grid sent out a neighbourhood help & info team to help priority individuals & neighbours etc , the two ladies , one called Kerry &her colleague who's name we didnt get , were fantastic . Offered as much help as they could & reassured households that things were being sorted asap . Gave out what help they could ie hot drinks , charged phones up & gave out lights , blankets if needed & power banks for phones. As fed up as people were you couldn’t help but feel these people did as much as possible to help & thsts all you can ask for when the weather is causing delay to repairs . Thanks from yo25 area
Movement of overhead power cables
In short - we contacted Northern Powergrid about moving overhead power cables so we could do some building work in Feb 23, it’s now Dec 24, this has still not been done and there is no date planned for it. Their customer service and ways of working are appalling.

here we go again thur 21st nov 23.17pm another powercut..in our street . myself and other neighbours are sick to death of this on our estate.i am still waiting for someone to call me about my complaint from the last power cut.instead npg rang me asking for someone who lives in the st but not their mob number.got an apology i was advised they wd remove my tel number from that door number.and guess what days later anothet call for same lady who does not live at this number. so i sent an email to complaints and have not had a reply.probably because i asked to be compensated for the amount of power cuts we have had so far this yr.i am on the priority reg.but was left with no way of contacting anyone as my battery died as the power was off so long.i have never in my 63 yrs known so many power cuts in one street or estate..this is just beyond a joke now especially in this freezing cold weather.its only its only 5days since the power was off round the back of my house and neighbours are absolutely and totally fed up.
Outage today in the snow, great response for NPG
We had an outage today in Heeley, Sheffield, on one of the coldest days of the year. Northern PowerGrid sent regular useful text messages to keep us updated and sent a food truck to give free hot meals to local residents without power.
I would not normally write a review for an energy company like this but I was extremely impressed with their response to the problem and the hot food definitely improved the situation while the technicians undertook their repairs.

Burnopfield /Gibside Maintenance Power Cut
Thank you Northern Power Grid for excellent customer support regarding a necessary maintenance power cut in our area, near Burnopfield.
Right through from speaking to a customer support representative to the engineers we felt very well looked after. Everything went as planned and staff were courteous and understanding. Thank you Northern Power Grid.
Absolutely shockingly poor customer…
Absolutely shockingly poor customer service/complaints procedure. Dug up our front yard when neighbours power went off. Damaged house, took out telephone landline and damaged brand new installed and painted concrete fence posts/gravel boards. Have been constantly chasing them for over 3 weeks for updates, what is going to happen etc. Sent photos and still they are not getting back to me. Admit they are liable but blaming contractors.

NP don't care about the opinions of their customers on here, why? Ans: because they think we have no choice or voice.
Continuation of the complaint - no change in Northern Power Grids response to their poor customer service and inability to carry out maintenance tasks.
It is up to Northern Power grid to respond on here, to me via email or phone as well as through the ombudsman service. This lack of customer service is one of the issues that have been logged with the ombudsman.
Unbelievable poor service!!

They have failed to give a timescale to remedy the issue, so failed again.
Communication is none existent, including answering reviews on this site.
I will continue to post negative reviews on their none existent customer service.
This complaint has now been logged with the ombudsman. This process may take many weeks, so many more poor reviews to come!

Regular power outages
I rang and complained re constant power outages in village near Durham where I live. Got an inane and blasé letter basically saying that’s just how it is….As another commentator (Stephen) says indifferent and greedy, making large sums of money for a very mediocre service

Excellent resond team …
There was some power cuts at our property 150 Spring Bank Hull before, but I never before was calling for help to Northern Power grid. It seems always must be that first time :) Today Sunday 4th of August we got some power cut off round 16.00. No power in 8 flats in our building. I called Northern Power grid emergency line. Extremely nice and professional lady answered my call. In few minutes other same nice and profesional lady call me back saying that respond team is on the way. Three engineers from respond team was on place in round 15minutes and today is Sunday :). You would not believe in 30min all power was back and problem solved. Northern Powergrid you need more workers like that three gentlemen from respond team. Totally professional and very fast :0 wow. Really happy that them was assigned to sort problem with power in our property :) 150 Spring Bank Hull. Northern Powergrid I hope ypu care about that type of your workers and that ypu reward them with big bonuses ;) thank you
substation on our land
We have a substation at the rear of our property (northern powergrid have access over our land, so to keep our dogs safe we agreed to them putting a fence up and gates) we thought once they had access our problems would disappear (how wrong we were) the maintenance company who work for them have killed off all the grass on the land that has been fenced off (we are worried about our dogs, as they have obviously used a cery strong weed killer!) we were given keys to the gates so we could still access our land but when we tried to open the locks the keys we were given don't work! We have done everything we can to make it easier for this company but it feels like theyve just thrown it back in our face

We have had 5 power cuts in the space of 2 weeks now. Absolutely fuming lost numerous work hours and content due to this.
Quick repair
Rang at 20:00 to report power outage by 22:00 they we're diging up cable outside my house. Diging close to bedroom window men were quite we were still able to sleep. Got up next morning power back on. Next day they complete repair. Workers polite and helpful. A big thanks from me
Northern Power grid dug up our street…
Northern Power grid dug up our street in Feb they left without cleaning up their mess mud cement left everywhere even on the lawn ,we and other neighbours have been trying to get them to clean the paths since then they have now offered £150 as a gesture of goodwill or towards cleaning our own paths ,its unacceptable of course but the paths are in a state and have to be cleaned by someone .
What a backwards company this is
What a backwards company this is. If you have a problem with supply but its not at a residence eg, Traffic lights, Northern Power are unable to find where you are even when you tell them all the rd names for the junction, the first half off a post code and better still they don't even have the ability to use what three words. I can't believe we trust our Power supply with a company that is unable to use the Internet.
DNO application long overdue
DNO application long overdue. Rung over 10 times with the promise of a call back. Every single time I've been passed to the overflow team so don't actually think the normal new connections team is picking up calls!
