In fairness, I got my money back of this company fairly quickly after lodging a complaint! I am still puzzled as to how they got access to mg credit card number after buying a trainline ticket! I hope the company can make their offer a bit clearer to potential customers who don't read the small print!

I signed up for the free NX Rewards cashback offer through National Express. After cancelling my NX Rewards membership, I was surprised to be charged by MyTimeRewards, even though I never knowingly signed up for both companies. My NX REWARDS account I had already asked for cancellation. The link between NX Rewards and MyTimeRewards is unclear and feels misleading. Reading the other reviews confirms there is an unknown data transfer happening when people sign up for cashback or discounts.

I was being scammed! I was appalled to discover that £18 was deducted weekly for August, September, October and November without my consent, despite not providing a credit card number. I am perplexed as to how they obtained my credit card number, as I never join the membership. Is illegal!

Like many others I feel this company behaves unethically. I have used other cash back schemes without issue. This bunch (via Trainline) sneakily sign you up for a subscription and you don’t realise until that first £18 leaves your account. Horrible company. Trainline should be ashamed of being associated with this.

I opened an account with this company.

I was "rewarded" with welcome bonus, and the monthly bonus.

When I next tried to login to claim it. An alert came up to say "Your account is no longer active".

Because I had no account. I could not log in to change my details, or claim my reward.

The company have reopened the account without my consent. Collected payment from my bank, took away my welcome reward and monthly bonus.

The fact they blocked me from logging in, show that it was a calculate theft.

Disgusting.

I am reporting this company to action fraud. Stay clear or you to will become a victim.

Didn’t even realise i was being scammed. They’ve taken over £100 off me because i trusted the Trainline app. More fool me. Their emails are in the tiniest unreadable print and now I’ve cancelled I’ve had an email saying (in small print) that I’ve also have “membership with us for another programme(s)” Do I ?! I think not. But I have to contact them to find out which one(s). Biggest scam I’ve ever come across. Have changed my credit card through my bank’s fraud section.

Update: prior to the company’s response I telephoned the number provided on the last email I received. I spoke to a lady who was very helpful and hopefully things will be sorted out. I provided them with appropriate security details.

A few things I’ve learnt: you can claim any funds you’ve paid if you’ve never used the system. Three months payments can be put into your bank/card within 4 working days, the rest will come after you complete a claims form that will be emailed to you (I’ve yet to receive this). If this happens then I’m impressed with the customer service.
I still have a couple of issues about my signing up. Following an investigation I’ve found I did this when i got my senior rail card. I clicked on the button so I could get £20 off the price.
I’ll have provided my email and address, but not my card details - these must have been passed on from the buying of the railcard (please correct me if I’m wrong).
The last thing I’d raise is that i didn’t just sign up to one company by clicking this button, i signed up to two, the second being Complete Savings. They too have taken money from my card. I’m waiting to see if the claim form covers this company too. I have cancelled this “membership “ through the TimeRewards helpline. I hope anyone reading this checks their statements more frequently than I do and doesn’t ignore relatively small amounts going out of their account thinking they’re just general spend. I’ve learned s very big message and won’t be so stupid in the future.

Scammers, through Trainline Line. Booked my ticket to London, and then hit the rewards button. Didn’t knowingly subscribe to these leeches and didn’t realise I’d been scammed until they took £18 from my credit card. It’s a well known trick apparently, so why aren’t Trainline blocking them and stopping this from happening to their customers?? I assume that they are aware that this is continuing to happen.

Edit: My account is reinstated after ID verification. They offer a good value for the loyalty service. Thank you for processing the identification request promptly.

Original: They have randomly withheld my cashback earning by suspending the account while they still keep charging 18£ to my card. The customer service seems deliberately slow. I'm still trying to recover it and hope they are not scam. I have sent them all the ID documents and have not heard back yet.

Be careful, scam!

I signed up and canceled straight away, however, did not get a confirmation via email. Then I realised that I got charged even though I had cancelled for the month! It’s not worth it, just rather don’t signed up in the first place in my opinion.
