Mels Cleaners were contracted to clean 7 flats as end of tenancy cleans. One was a very short notice, less than a week, clean. So far they have cleaned four out of the seven flats. The standard of cleaning far outstrips any other cleaners and firms I have dealt with in previous years.

Mels Cleaners Customer Service team are pleasant and adaptable in discussing my requirements and dealt efficiently and effectively when issues beyond our control arose which would interfere with cleans.

I recommend Mels Cleaners without reservation. They do what they say they will do to a very high standard. I will definitely use them again.

Had a nice conversation and quote exchange with Abi. Double confirmed with her the price which was a yes, went to book in and then Paul reached out to me saying my quote was no longer valid and over doubled the price! Very shocked and taken aback so won’t be proceeding and I’d advise everyone else to be careful of this too!!

COMMENT ON REPLY: to all comment readers -Yes I did get the original quote in January. It’s why I got it reconfirmed in June incase there was a change, which the response was yes it was the same which as great. It only increased after trying to book it in in July - no price update received in between.

Mel's Cleaning were extremely efficient. Missy and Talal did an excellent job in our cottage and left it spotless.

Just want it says on the tin… needed a cleaner to help me around the house while I’m getting to old do to it myself. Missy and her team were on time and went the extra mile to not only clean but make me feel comfortable in my own home. Highly recommended. Thank you Bob

Will definately be using these again. Very professional, punctual and pleasant organised by team leader Missy. A very friendly approach and work ethic. Was very easy to book convenient times around own schedule. House looks as good as when originally moved in years ago and thats a miracle. Fabulous work done.

Very unreliable, I booked for 3 x 4hr sessions with 2 cleaners back in April in an attempt to get my mothers house saleable. I should have known from the first session I was going to have trouble. The cleaners were 2 hours late and said it was because there was 4 of them, I had called the office several times and kept getting told they'll be there soon but noone said there would be 4 and it'll be for 2 hours instead. When they turned up they asked for cleaning products and bin bags! I'm not being funny but I paid for a deep clean and I expected them to have everything they needed. Then the following week they were over an hour late again but only 2 cleaners this time. Late again the 3rd time so a fourth session was agreed which they were late for again. They still owed me 4 hours cleaning and have cancelled several weeks on the run. I had email confirmation that a session was booked for 6th of July but, when they didnt show, I called them and she said they had nothing down for that day! It was rebooked the following week and the only reason I knew it was cancelled was because I called and the same again the following week. The work was supposed to be completed in May but I have now had a refund as its July and I was sick of being let down. They are so unorganised and although the cleaners are friendly they weren't professional in the slightest. Really don't bother wasting your time or money.

My mother was a secret hoarder and had amassed literally a houseful of stuff over very many years. This only came to light when she was admitted to hospital. It would not have been possible for her to return to her home after discharge from the hospital - her home had to be made safe for her and this is precisely what Mels Cleaning did, over a very long week.
A team of three cleaners dealt with the hoard sympathetically and sensitively and cleared sufficient space after two days for my mother to return home.
The care and attention they showed to my mother, as they worked with her to clear and sort through what remained, was above and beyond what I could have ever hoped for. They were wonderful!
The service Mels provide isn't cheap but they were worth every penny. Thanks you so much.

From Katie and the rest of the office staff to the three gentlemen, Stabiyo, Fred & Sean (sorry if I have misspelt), the team at Mels cleaning were professional, compassionate and understanding throughout the whole process of cleaning and clearing a family member's house. The initial consultation was conducted with empathy and demonstrated many years of experience in this field. The team that came to help were motivated, hard working and really respectful of the situation. I cannot thank them enough for the two days of hard graft and what was achieved. 5 stars all round

If i could have given 0 stars, I would. I had booked for mels-cleaning to do a deep clean of my house. Everything seems ok until I rang to rearrange the day. The man that answered the phone ( turns out he was the owner), was really abrupt with me. Once he knew my name and address he shouted " have you paid yet"?. I was so taken aback that I did not reply. I asked to be put through to amanda or Abi who were dealing with it for me. He refused. I said "I don't like your attitude. I have cancer and you are upsetting me". He said he was the owner and replied, " I am cancelling the cleaning altogether" and he put the phone down on me. Then I looked at all the reviews for this awful company, and they are mostly all terrible. The couple that are positive, I think are made up. There is one from an Abi lol. I think I dodged a bullet there. Please don't trust this dreadful company.

Firstly we were genuinely wanting a deep clean but of course, you would lie about that. We did not cancel 5 times. We rearranged twice for genuine reasons. WE WERE GOING TO PAY YOU BUT YOU MESSED US ABOUT SO MUCH WE WERE BEGINNING TO FEEL YOU WERE DODGY. YOU DENIED WE HAD BEEN IN CONTACT, THAT AND YOUR NASTINESS TO SOMEONE WITH CANCER DECIDED ON US WITHDRAWING OUR CUSTOM. THANK GOD WE NEVER PAID YOU. TOTALLY CRAP BUSINESS THAT TREATS IT'S STAFF APPALLINGLY AND HAS NO RESPECT FOR IT'S CUSTOMER. ALL YOU ARE BOTHERED ABOUT IS GETTING LOTS OF MONEY OFF THE PUBLIC BY DECIETFUL PRACTISES. GOOD RIDDANCE.

From my first enquiry to cleaning my home, prior to returning to the States, was a breeze.
The booking process was easy and they managed to fit me in precisely when I needed them.
The cleaners were extremely hard working, polite and did a great job of both the house and carpet cleaning. Really impressive!

A company guilty of misselling products, with zero ethics and poor treatment of staff. I booked a 6 hour clean (£389.20) and also a professional carpet clean (£275), totalling £664.20. The time period of the carpet clean was never specified. My assumption, wrongly, was that the carpet cleaning would be a separate service as the website states it is specialist and I assumed a separate labour resource.

With this in mind, I was shocked to see only 2 people turn up and with no obvious specialist carpet cleaning equipment present. I called up head office to inquire as to what was included in the carpet cleaning fee I had paid. On this call I was met with an extremely rude man by the name of Paul, who I have no doubt will also reply to this review (worrying that concerns go no further than him). He immediately thought I was trying to pick a fight, when in fact I was asking a simple question. He was defensive and disgustingly rude. When I asked what was included in the carpet cleaning price (i.e is that labour AND equipment), his response was "errrmmm...you get your carpets cleaned?!!". He was totally unprofessional and when he said he didn't know what was in my quote so he couldn't help, I asked him if he could look and his response was, "no, because he was standing in his garden."

The cleaners arrived 90 minutes after the allocated 1 hr time slot. I can forgive this as these things happen but was shocked to find that the two gentlemen that turned up had had to haul all their cleaning equipment from the train station in 25 degree heat, as they had no transport of their own.

The result of the clean was absolutely poor and there was no evidence of any sort of professional carpet cleaner as clearly advertised on their website (I had to use a hired one for £24.99 after and got black water coming out of it). I did sign the satisfaction form, which is this company's only line of defense, but did not feel comfortable asking the two men to redo as it would have taken hours and they did not finish until 8:30pm (and then had to lug their stuff back to the train station and 90 mins home to Birmingham). I was alone in the house and didn't feel like I could ask this of them. Do Mel's cleaning consider that when relying on this form?

Another point to raise is that the lead cleaner said to me that had worked 2 hours overtime and he was sorry for the overrun. I asked if he was expected to do the carpets within the 6 hour timescale, he said yes. This goes directly against both what I was told and what I paid for. This is very concerning as there seems to be a pressure for your staff to complete the work within the 6 hours, but they are charging customers for extra. This does not look good, ethically.

Overall I am completely disgusted with Mel's cleaning and actually my main issues are not with the two cleaners that attended my house. Yes, the clean was well below par but they were clearly not trained or the professional cleaners advertised to us. My issue is with the blatant mis-selling of services, rude customer service, and overinflated prices that I have seen from Mel's cleaning.

Needed end of tenancy clear quickly, they were fats, reliable and outstanding finish! Will definitely use them again

I paid the company in advance for an end of tenancy clean of my late sister’s flat. As I live over 250 miles away, I was relying on a friend of my sister to pass the key to them. The firm did let me know on the day the clean should have happened that a domestic issue meant that the cleaners couldn’t go in that day but would go in the next day. They didn’t bother to phone the key holder. It was only when the landlady went in 9 days later that I found out they hadn’t been in at all. My sister’s friend had tried and failed several times to get a clear answer from them. I was promised an investigation into what has happened and why I hadn’t been told - nothing until I called them two days later. I was promised the refund would be in my bank account by the next morning. The next day I was told there had been “some delays” in processing the payment. (Maybe I just sounded stupid enough to believe that there might be any reason for delays to a basic BACS transfer.) To be fair, the money had been refunded by the end of that afternoon. I obviously cannot comment on whether it had anything to do with my promise to go to Trading Standards. People will just have to read the other reviews and draw their own conclusions.

Nothing was to much trouble for the young lady that came out to me she was attentive and cleaned so well I believe she was called missy but I could be mistaken I just want to pass on my thanks

Absolute cowboys. Avoid at all costs. Cleaners were rude and aggressive. We paid £460 for 5 hours work for 3 cleaners (15 hours!) and the end result was shocking.
We sent 16 photos to the head office to complain and they completely washed their hands of it. We're now being charged the same again by our landlord to do the job properly. Disgusting.

I'd love to see these 77 photos Phil, as I have photographic evidence of the shoddiness of your cleaners. I'll take my partners opinion over yours that the cleaners were rude and aggressive. The oven hob and extractor hood werent touched. Even the extractor had cobwebs on it so clearly not touched. Tops of kitchen cupboards not touched. Taps in wc and bathroom not touched. Top of shower screen not touched. No light fittings touched. Electrical sockets not touched. Front door not touched. Oven still dirty. Ensuite mirror removed for some reason. I can go on, but I already sent you the pictures but you washed your hands completely. Yes, Katie signed the form before the cleaners had finished but she did point out to them a lot of areas they needed to redo. She couldn't wait around to ensure they had done them. I'm actually with the landlord on needing to charge us extra. The worst part is your automatic and I'm sure very common response 'the matter is concluded because you signed the form.' Your customer service could use a huge amount of improvement. Judging by your other reviews, I'm not alone.

The girls did an excellent job they did much more than I had expected and my en-suite is sparkling. The girls were very friendly and courteous.I will definitely used this service again.Many thanks

Customer service was of a very high standard and we were sent out a team of cleaners promptly. Very professional and hard working cleaners. We were very happy with the services provided and will definitely be using them again.

Mels cleaning carried out an extreme clean for me
David, Liz and Tod were amazing kind, thoughtful, very hard working and friendly ...it was the little touches and thoughtful things they did to make things easier as I am a wheelchair user.
At first I thought it would never get done, but my home is now decluttered and spotless and I am so happy 😊 Thank you all so much, I will never forget you it was a pleasure to meet you and have you in my home

Super last minute end of tenancy clean, right before the bank holiday. Communication and service couldn’t have been better. Went above and beyond. Really appreciative and would recommend to anybody!

Booked to do a deep cleaning after moving. Two cleaners were very good. The other needed close supervision and needed prompting to clean the fridge etc and most of her work needed redoing after she left. She also proceeded to help her self to coffee and a tin of roses.

I have tried to raise a complaint but I have failed to get a satisfactory response or even an apology
