The taxi I booked was on the app, the driver did not bother to drive to the pickup point, and there is no evidence that the driver turned up at the location at the address posted in the app, but set the meter and activated it to charge when me I was at Tesco East Didsbury because Tesco's has a designated area to pick people up, the pickup points this is for taxi services, Tesco's do not like cars picking people up at the main doors, the driver did not bother to drive to the pickup point and there are penalty charges where the company will take you money run the meter and cancel the job this in my book is steeling taking my money on the card, I did not authorize this payment, he should have been at the designated Pickup Point as your drivers would at Morrison's supermarket, so now it seems it is justified
for a taxi company to take your money and not have to pick you up, so instead I had no choice but to walk all the way home in the rain affecting my health as I have a back problem and am limited to how much I can do, I do not believe it is acceptable or professional for a taxi company to behave in this way.
I will never use this company again, if you cant trust them with the little jobs how can you trust them with anything else, I will give my money to another taxi company who deserves it.
A dreadful experience
Taxi driver turned up late after going to the wrong address, car smelt of smoke and was dirty. We had to direct him to our home and run down a road to find him. He barely spoke any English. The whole experience was a disgrace and we almost missed our train.
Taxi service
So thankful and proud to say lynx taxis are my local company. They have never let me down in all 10 years i have used them. The call center staff are very friendly and the drivers are professional in full uniform and very helpfull with shopping and luggage.

They charge no extra after midnight which most other companies do so that makes them the best. Lynx app is another great way for us to make journey bookings without call queues. Will continue to use and recommend to family & friends.
Pray on the drunk and vulnerable
Booked a taxi via phone through the office for a 3 mile trip I make regularly for £12 - (usually around £6/7 but it was slightly later.) When I got in the taxi he set the meter to £10 starting and insisted I gave him £20 cash or else the meter will be more. I said I had booked it and agreed £12 with the office. He just kept saying £20 making out he couldn’t speak English. When I said I was not paying £20 he got slightly aggressive so to ease the situation I said I’ll give you £15 mate and that’s it. After this the taxi ride was very tense and he was acting strangely. Luckily I didn’t give him my exact location I wanted to go. I believed he thought I was drunk because of the time I was traveling when I was just going to work. They obviously pray on vulnerable people. I also believed he turned his mobiles off so he could do the job cash in hand.
avoid if you want an easy life
My stress levels have gone through the roof since using this firm for my daily drop off at work. When the iOS app was upgraded near Xmas 2019 I was no longer able to take my daily journey on the meter, instead the app was trying to charge me nearly double the usual cost on a fixed fare! My usual fare of £8 had jumped to £15. I made arrangements with the office (bypassing the app) to have this overridden manually as they agreed the fare was unfair. However some of the drivers have been contacting the office prior to my pickup to have this overturned, simply to charge me the more lucrative fare. This has resulted in too many disagreements with their drivers, which is not what anyone needs at 6:50am each day. I will no longer use Lynx taxis as I’m constantly trying to mop up the mess created by their drivers through greed. I will take my regular custom elsewhere.
Overcharged
Overcharged. Partner was charged £40 to travel 11 miles, forced to pay by cash although pre-booked with card. Then card was also charged. Called to make a complaint was told I would be called back - no one called. Called them again and was hung up on. My partner shook by her experience with driver. Poor.
