Borderline Criminals.

We have had water leaking into the livingroom of our top floor tenement for almost 4 years. We have e had several tier 1 and tier 2 complaints upheld and even received a letter from their MD to tell us that the fault has been repaired. After receiving this letter we replaced the entire ceilings in the livingroom and bedroom at the cost of over £8000 only for the egress to resume in the same place at the next heavy rain. The whole ordeal has given my wife and I mental health issues.

Absolutely awful communication, organisation and repairs standard.

We recommend keeping everything in writing. If you phone up, the office staff answering the phone will not leave any notes or pass on your concerns.

Our repairs are showing as complete and cancelled.

The first repair has in fact failed 6 weeks later! (Luckily we still have the scaffolding up from the first repair, as it’s been up for at least 3 months)

In terms of the second repair (water leaking) we are waiting for 2 more quotes, and after chasing said quotes we have been told that Lowther accounts have the whole repair recorded as cancelled.

We would recommend contacting to the Wheatley Group (parent company) to voice your concerns as you won’t get far speaking to Lowther.

Not to mention Lowther have kept up with no gutter maintenance checks this year and the guttering is now needing replaced due to negligence.

Appalling, corrupt, useless company. They will take money for services that are not provided and deny providing services in the past that they should be now despite evidence produced to the contrary. Sarcastic, rude staff (not all of them) and frustrating telephone calls means that it takes a long time to resolve issues.

Abysmal, All I've wanted is an account created in my email, but I've just been fed false promises for the past year and a half, terrible company.

Would be 0 stars if possible. We need a new roof and seem to be getting no where, been advised they have no time scales and it will be in due course. I’ve called, not once been called back. I’be complained to be advised it’s not upheld, once I sent a section of the code of conduct they must follow showing that my complaint would be upheld I was ignored.

I’ve now sought legal advice, but wanted to let anybody it may help know that a Property Factors Code of conduct can be found on the.gov website to let people know where they stand legally with this awful company and how to go about switching

Place is an absolute joke. Reported mould in our flat multiple times just to have someone eventually come out and just paint over the top of it leaving paint drops all over our flat and scratching our worktops. Then the mould obviously just came back as nothing was actually done to treat it. Reported it multiple times since and they just keep “losing” the record of us reporting it (This has been on going for years and they won’t do anything).Then our extractor fan in the bathroom stops working and they came out to inspect it only to tell us that it’s working fine, there is literally no sound coming from it and our bathroom will be full of steam for hours after a shower which obviously just makes the mould situation that much better. To add to all of this our heating and hot water has been off for three days and my wife is six months pregnant after being on hold for hours on end spread out over dozens of phone calls between Dunedin Lowather and vital energy (All of whom have absolutely no idea what to they are doing and ask us to get information from each other when it’s literally their job) we finally get told it’s been raised just to find out that Dunedin haven’t actually told vital energy anything and no one is coming. To say this company is a complete joke is an insult to actual companies that are a complete joke.

Fake repairs. Worst company. Desperate to get us switched over but no idea how to go about it. This company will put up scaffolding on your building do no work then charge you for a repair. I know no one did any work as i work grom home and saw no one for a week until they took it all down again. Total criminals. Avoid if you can.

This is the most atrocious experience with a service company I've had in the UK, period. They are unable to fix a buzzer for half a year, never call you back when then tell you that they will, took 2 months to process a representation mandate and continue to tell us that "well the buzzer will be updated with the scheduled maintanence" and yet it's been over 6 months with about 30% of flats impacted. Stay far away.

Agree 1 star is too generous. Their system stinks. Emails ignored, phone calls ignored, requests to call back ignored, resorted to personal visit to their huge office. Told no one works there. Directors, management, complaints team, contact staff all at home. Repair still outstanding 4 months later. Absolute joke of a public organisation.

For gutter repairs, They had charged £800+ altogether from 4 flats after n no. of times follow up and we pay insurance quarterly, and it's around £400+ annually. of course, They don't provide any clean-up services. The insurance is of no use and for each and every repair we have to pay again. Of course, they did the work for the huge money paid in a few months' time and it wasn't bad and has not reoccurred for a year so far. So, I feel it's not a bad choice as after long research, I found that Almost all the other factoring managements are utter rubbish just to grab money for nothing and the issues were reoccurring and our governments are simply ignoring them by not taking action against such looters. Not sure when these things are realized and save taxpayers from these cunning looters.

Advert on rightmove had information gaps (contact details, closing date) and an error in the deposit amount. Tried to phone to get clarification when filling out their detailed application form and nobody could give me an answer on the missing info/errors found in the advert (letting agents and customer service unable to communicate with one another) . I sent in the application form anyway , which is required to be filled out prior to you viewing the property, unsure if this had any errors . This form contained a lot of sensitive information (bank statement, wage slips , ID photos) , and when it got sent to lowthers , there was no email to say that it has been received or whether it is just floating in the ether . Phoned multiple times to see if this had reached them and whether it was being considered and trying to clarify when the application closing date is / was, again , nobody could tell me. Told multiple times I would be called back by an agent regarding all the above and nothing has reached me . Now sat at a loss. I am confused how applying for a flat can be this cryptic.

Very poor factoring service. Emails unanswered. Repairs not carried out. Poor landscaping service, poor cleaning service.

Worst customer service you can possibly imagine. Initially excused due to the pandemic but appears that that was just a ruse, as their service hasn't improved but got worse recently. Currently trying to get the requisite two-thirds of occupiers to agree to cancel our factor with them and move to a better company. AVOID

This company tried to price-gouge the rent less than 24 hours before my scheduled move-in date. They advertise properties at a price "average," but they fail to mention they have multiple properties at various price points, and that this price is an average. Paired with the fact that I was actively deceived upon the rental price of the property I applied for by the agent who took my in-person viewing, there was at best gross incompetence at play, at worst deliberate malfeasance with Lowther. This situation has caused a huge amount of personal and professional disruption, especially since they raised the rental price less than 24 hours prior to my scheduled move-in date, when a person is at a vulnerable stage being materially, physically, and financially prepared for a move.

If I could minus star this company I would. Been in dispute with them over a repair bill for a repair reported in February 2020. Despite constant phone calls, emails , tweets and Facebook messages I’ve yet to speak directly to someone regarding my dispute. I have however had lots of contact with their debt recovery team. Today I’ve caved in and paid the bill as I got another letter threatening court action. The factoring is appalling and so are their charges would definitely avoid if you can

Absolutely disgusted with this factor. I applied for accommodation and was advised of the criteria which had to be met. I met this criteria with my income however I was refused accommodation based on the fact that I am currently living with relatives and had no proof that I could pay rent. I was not given the opportunity to discuss my situation in person which is unfair. I spoke to the letting agent who was rude and not interested in my appeal. And because I asked for a name of someone to make a formal complete the agent told me I would not be getting any property with them. I am raising a formal complaint to the Wheatley group and am speaking to my local councillor.

Don't accept DSS payments or universal credits so anyone who's disabled in any capacity or on universal credit aren't allowed to apply to rent as per their policies which is highly discriminatory and illigal. Spoke to advisors and they confirm and worse they agree but powerless to change the companies disgusting policies

Awful landlord..raised rents during pandemic, bins never emptied, repairs never done, can never get response to queries, contact centre unhelpful...avoid

This has to be one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.
Customer service is non existent.
Emails never responded to.
We applied for a property with lowther and waited over 2 months to be told we were not eligible due to having an overdraft.
This is absolute nonsense. We have never went over our overdraft limit. We have an excellent credit score and earn over the average wage.
I raised a dispute over this decision and am still waiting on a response.
Dreadful company. Never a manager available to speak to or anyone available to raise a complaint with.

I agree 1 star is too high. This lot are cunning. They send out a survey form for each repair but never include a return envelope or provide an address that the (invariably negative) feedback can be sent to. They sport many customer service award logos on their website but never (EVER) return calls. I really do think this company deserves a deep investigation.
