Lowther are incompetent and their systems are not fit for purpose. They are in cahoots with City Building ( know by decent tradesmen as Sh!tty Building). I’ve never known to have a factor with no named point of contact with a direct telephone contact. They quote and hide behind and misuse GDPR Regulations. The IOS would wipe the floor with them.
Avoid if you can or get everyone else on your block to agree to get rid of them. They’re all still working from him. Make up quotes and don’t do site visits. Truly dystopian. AVOID!!!

Please check that your factor is not LowtherHomes before buying a flat in a shared tenement. I wish l knew myself about factors as a new buyer. Don't make the same mistake. Lowther is a cowboy business and l have no idea why the government in Scotland has allow their criminality to go on for this long. Don't say you weren't warned. Stay away ...

Where do I start with this company! Again like most people 1 star is only because it doesn’t give me an option to put - 10 stars.

Firstly the company carried out EWI improvements to my building which they have left gaps where water is penetrating behind the ewi and causing dampness and mould to my property internally.. send out incompetent staff that don’t know how to resolve the situation.. then demand over 10k for a job that’s worth max 2k

Always demanding money never want to resolve any situations or if they do it’s just a quick fix.. something has to be done every home owner has to get together and stop this company charging what they want.

Recently problem in one of there properties upstairs in the bathroom and charged each property over £400 and the problem was in there bathroom cause they had to change a pipe that went into the cast its communal 😂😂 asked them was the pipe made of gold! Absolute robbery we should all be untitled to our money back we’ve given them over the years if you ask me…

Alice in wonderland invoicing and accounting system. Demanding £2025 for an owner led project in a tenement building East End, that I paid 6 months ago. I have emailed, telephoned, raised a complaint to Wheatley Group. Still receiving demanding letters, made worse by highlighting it to a phone operator at Lowther last month, no, we can see there is a mistake you have paid, the work couldn’t have gone ahead on schedule had you not paid, I’ll escalate it to a manager. The result, now I’m receiving threatening letters, pay or else. Who needs this junk in their life. Very unrealable company. I reported a heavy leakage in the building. They book an appointment and never turned up. The water is pouring under the building and they do not interested to fix it.

1 star is too much for this company, they take no responsibility, only interested in the extortionate fees they charge for doing nothing. I’ve been calling them for a year and a half about rubbish being left at the side of the 4 in a block by a new tenant, they are not interested, they take my calls and then nothing is done, this week I was told I could arrange a collection by the council (which I would be charged for) then they said I could report it as fly tipping, I can’t do that for fear of repercussions if she gets fined, they said that was up to me if I reported or not. I’m at my wits end.

Where to start with this bunch of unprofessional, inadequate cowboys! They charge a fortune every month for doing absolutely nothing. All they care about is getting money from you. They are holding up our moving day because they claim they haven't received paperwork from our solicitor, which she has sent, and they have the cheek to charge us £123 admin fee for closing the account! Have had nothing but bother with this company since we bought our house, and they are now holding up our chain although they have had even more money from us. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Lowther Homes does not merit zero star because they are unreliable. I reported clogged gutters/ pipes in the 2 story building for 2 years. The last update was a repair team sent to do the job, never attended the job. I have contacted Lowther homes via telephone call and emails. To no avail. The only people working in the building is the Glasgow city council refuse removal. The building is like a hunted place with grass growing and drying up.

Worst factors ever. If they don't want to deal with you they hang up or say, I can hear you're upset. Maybe if they managed situations more effectively they wouldn't have issues. I have now called 3 times regarding non existent quarterly bills. It's an IT issue, I'll get a patch officer to call you. Not interested in their excuses, when I am calling them to get their systems sorted. Paying a management fee but no clue how to manage. Quick to send me the wrong bill though. Absolute joke of a company and should not be allowed to operate.

AVOID LOWTHER., Pay building insurance to this company, reported for repair to be carried, damage to roof through storms we had, slates on stairs in garden all over, this caused water damage inside roof causing water to go into living room walls and one bedroom wall. Advised to call Davies Group, reported claim sent photographs as evidence, they need Lowther to confirm the damage was caused by storms, and that’s ehy the slates came off? LOWTHERS POLICY..QUOTE.THEY NEVR CONFIRM REASON HOW DAMGED IS CAUSED? Therefore the insurance company cannot go ahead with claim, have called them numerous times, and just been ignored, spoke to agent Mathew asked to speak to manager, was told could not do this request, I advised him I needed to speak to someone who could try and solve this problem, he TERMINATED the call. Taking the further LOWTHER. Need to be looked into if this is what happens when you request a claim? AVOID AVOID. AWFUL COMPANY NON EXISTING CUSTOMER SERVICE.

1 star is a star too many for this organisation. I have emailed my patch officer 3 times in the past 2 weeks and still no reply. They are quick to take our common charges yet don't do what they're supposed to do it's a disgace, when I bought my home 14 years ago it was a lovely place but they have let it go to rack and ruin, absolutely shocking

I live in a development of 4 owner occupier blocks and 2 Lowther blocks. Most of the tenants are great, but just about every time a tenant moves in or out, we end up with fly-tipping of rubbish & furniture.

We’ve tried everything. Asking Lowther to write to tenants explaining how rubbish collection and recycling work. Our Factors and Residents’ Assosiation have also contacted them and asked for assistance. Nothing changes.

They’ve even stopped responding to residents complaints, which means the dumping has got worse. We’ve been told to take photos by our Factors so that they can pass on the costs to them. Still they don’t pay!

They’re a disgrace frankly. Something should be done about the standard of service they provide.

Honestly I feel 1* is stretching it for these cowboys. Happy to take your rent but when something needs done you get fobbed off with ‘oh it’s a contractor that fixes this, we can’t tell you anything’
Our security door has been broken for weeks, never fixed despite repeatedly chasing. Been told contractors have up to 30 days to fix. As a result of there negligence there has now been break ins and people have had bikes stolen from the bike storage. Given this is supposed to be a secure building, it should never have happened. Lowther ofcourse have no apology for the theft and advise they can’t be responsible for items left in the storage provided for us. Pathetic. Oh and 2nd rent increase in less than 2 years of being a tenant. I’ve cancelled my direct debit and won’t pay til I get what my rent should cover ‘a secure entry building’

£2.2k per flat for a communal repair for an owner-led project. With a large corner garden, I inquired in writing many times for a detailed schedule of work and as to who will cover insurance for damage, which is likely to be substantial, as my insurers quite rightly will not. My written requests have never been fully addressed, but they did manage to contact the council to start proceedings for section 50 if it is not paid. Only since the council involvement have they bothered to look into the insurance issue. I am still waiting. I agreed to pay and asked for proof of payment for what is actually being paid for to pass to my co-owner. The reply: you have our bank details, let me know when you have paid. I am greeted with an out-of-office email and I have no access to my emails to any reply that I send, but never mind, I will be back next week for a few days to eat, sleep and repeat the same scenario with you again... Except for a few occasions, the call centre handlers, I mostly find sympathetic and as helpful as they can be given their level of responsibility. Lowther-Glasgow service charges and fees for managing these projects are not providing value for money. Regrettably, their service does not meet my expectations. All Factors have a complaint procedure and code of conduct to adhere to. Details are on the scot gov website. It can be time-consuming, worth the effort if it really matters to you.

What an absolutely awful organisation. The staff are incredibly rude. No empathy, no flexibility and will hang up the call when you try to get them to commit to something. They are so incompetent when it comes to dealing with your issues. They are doing the factoring for my block of flats. I shall be making a formal complaint to Edinburgh City Council.

Absolutely horrific experience, again and again and AGAIN.
I raised a simple job in November to have our bath resealed and the mould in our flat investigated (Westfield avenue). We are now in February and the job has been ignored multiple times, not completed upon attending, and passed on and on to other operatives to deal with.

We have a 10 month old baby with mould in his bedroom, our bedroom and our bathroom, and Wheatly/Lowther could not care less.
The maintenance operatives booked a 3 hour window to treat and repaint all the mould, and reseal the bath. Instead they partially treated a few but not all areas, didn't paint over anything and didn't reseal the mouldy bath silicone. All of which was raised nearly 3 months ago.
We have had to bin so much furniture and curtains due to mould, let alone have to keep a dehumidifier running CONSTANTLY.

They've joked to us about going home early and going to the gym on their shifts, say they couldn't gain access to our building via our buzzer, despite our number being clearly marker penned on which cannot possibly be missed.

I have taken MULTIPLE UNPAID days off work, rearranged and upset my baby's schedule regularly, and this is causing our family extreme grief.
Why do we pay for a service that cannot ever be completed.

This has gone on for years and years (8+ years in this property, and we just get passed from one call handler to another, with no responsibility ever taken.
I would have though a baby in a mouldy flat would have created a slight urgency to do their job.

The worst part is, I don't expect them to even notice this review, let alone do anything about it.

Absolutely disgusting people. Look online, search Lowther Homes and you'll find hundreds of online reviews saying how much they are disgusted by these lying piece of crap scum. I know my words are harsh, but there are no other definition of what these people are. They will lie to you, they will refuse to do their job, they will harass you, they will drive you crazy. If you can, flee and don't have anything to do with these people;

I have been with Lowther 4 years and have currently taken on custody of my niece in a one bed flat, my friend/neighbour is in a 2 bed on her own (same stair) and offered to swap. Upon putting this forward to Lowther was told they are a private landlord and don’t accommodate this and how costly it is to swap tenants etc for a company that states “we are there for our tenants” they absolutely are not! Happy to continue taking your money and offer no help/support whatsoever and in the process make u feel stupid for even thinking your request would be considered. Would not recommend. Not to mention I was initially told this can be done and bought furniture for my nieces room! I was told to contact local authorities (as if I hadn’t already done so)!
