Update on Lewes cranberry rug

Further to my previous review, we were waiting for a replacement rug as our original rug was faulty. I have been continually lied to by staff stating that our rug was in a van on its way to our local store and then advised that as the store was now closed our rug would be collected as soon as it reopens and delivered to our home address, I knew that this was not the case as I checked with the store the day before it closed. When it reopened I spoke to one of
the staff who was honest and said it wasn't there and I would not be receiving it. Of course no surprise to now receive an email to advise that they cannot honour our order and no refund, however this rug is still for sale online!! Absolutely disgusting behaviour, please do not order anything from them.

DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT LAURA ASHLEY TELL YOU ABOUT DELIVERIES

I ordered furniture and sofa in January expected to be delivery by April at the latest. Received the bed and mattress. However was told the rest was in warehouse/transit when I kept phoning trying to get a date. Of course all blamed on Covit 19. After reading reviews on here decided to proceed with S 75 and paypal refund as not received goods. Paypal got money back within 5 days. Still waiting for s 75. However a week after paypal refund LA rung going to delivery furniture. Funny as it was the furniture id been refunded for! Today I received emails saying all my orders won't be fulfilled. No surprise there! I love LA products and furniture and I am very upset like so many others. It is a disgrace how loyal customers have been treated. Lied to, deceived and let down. Such a pity an iconic brand went to the DOGS. Will miss you LA but wont be back no matter who takes over. Will do without LA now as they were the only house hold shop I liked.

Just When I Thought They Couldn't Get Any Worse!

UPDATE:
Finally after messing me around for 3.5 months Laura Ashley have had the decency to write to me this week to tell me (officially) that (a) Laura Ashley Ltd went into Administration on 23rd March 2020 and (b) that they are sorry to inform me that they are unable to fulfil my order – they are sorry but they will not be able to offer refunds to customers who purchased products prior to 23rd March and suggest I can submit a claim (as an unsecured creditor) with the Administrators.
… Signing off, “Thank you for your understanding, Your Laura Ashley Team” – yes, makes my blood boil just typing this!

I was aware that my local store was earmarked as one of the stores for permanent closure but was having a “Closing Down/Everything Must Go Sale” starting Monday 22nd June – I was there waiting patiently (at an acceptable social distance of course!) with others ready for them to open at 10 a.m. Once inside I found the furniture I had ordered online on 13th March, it’s true there was 30% off, but it was still not the price I had paid for the goods online – I asked them if they would match the price on my order confirmation (and showed it to them) they said no! So I was faced with either paying an extra £75.00 for the goods I’d ordered on 13th March or walking away – because I really really wanted the furniture (wouldn’t have ordered it in March if I didn’t!), we paid the extra £75.00 and took the furniture away.
Even right at the end Laura Ashley just cannot stop themselves from exhibiting morally corrupt behaviour! by trying to squeeze the last few, extra pounds out of their once ‘loyal customers & friends’ ….. MY Laura Ashley Team I don’t think so!
The final icing on the cake was this morning when I received an email from Laura Ashley saying they’re under New Management and would love to stay in touch! Asking me to ‘opt in’ – well, Laura Ashley I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than stay in touch! So, the answer is NO – I’m sure you’ll understand why.

No refund of deposit when order cancelled by Laura Ashley. Sad to see a once reputable company brought low.

We ordered two sofas on January after being recommended by friends. Delivery was due by 17th April. This company is in administration and we have been advised that the order will not be fulfilled and furthermore, our deposit of over £300 is not being returned. We have to make a claim which will be dealt with alongside other creditors. At the encouragement of the Laura Ashley staff we opened a NEWDAY credit card to pay the deposit and they are unresponsive too. Recommend AVOIDING both companies. There are other more trustworthy suppliers.

We ordered bedroom furniture and like…

We ordered bedroom furniture and like so many others have not received it. The level of customer service is disgusting and what once were a really good company and a pleasure to go in to there shops and see friendly staff, they have turned in to robbers, taking peoples money and not delivering goods and no refunds is just a crime. Why isn’t there anything about this on the tv as has affected so many people. I wish Martin Lewis would talk about it on this morning or his money programs.
We understand they are now under new management but does this mean we will at least get our furniture who knows.

Do not deserve loyal customers

I have shopped in Laura Ashley for years and was gutted when I heard they are disappearing from our High Street to trade on line only, however after my experience they don't even deserve a back street market stall. I bought some wallpaper yesterday and was told no refunds which was fine as it was the design I wanted and would not change my mind, however what the member of staff did not tell me is that if a product is faulty they will still not replace it. One roll was covered with filthy marks and could not be used, so I am not only stuck with a completely useless and expensive item, but if you need a replacement to finish a job then you are forced to be out of pocket. It needs to be made absolutely clear that IF A PRODUCT IS FAULTY YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR THE REPLACEMENT. What a joke. I am disgusted with LA they are trading like a bunch of cheap crooks. I have a friend who is an interior designer and having told her about my experience she will no longer spend thousands of £ with LA and will take her clients money elsewhere. What an absolute disgrace this company is.

Update, this is the final response I received from LA in relation to the faulty wallpaper. Are customers now required to un-roll a roll of wallpaper in store!

Laura Ashley are Criminals

Ordered a chair on 26/01/20. At the start of the lock down I phoned for an update and was told by the customer services team that my order had been completed and was transferred from the factory to their distribution warehouse but they couldn't deliver due to social distancing rules and the item required two people to deliver it. I told them if one person delivered I would have people ready to lift it off the truck into my house, or I would collect myself but they declined and ensured me it would be delivered as soon as the lock down ended.

This morning I received an email telling me that they will not be fulfilling my order, or give a refund, and instead I can file a claim with the administrator.

My order has been sitting in their warehouse for 3 months and they have stolen money off a family trying to make ends meet!

This is unacceptable. Absolute joke of a company. Anyone reading this stay clear of Laura Ashley at all cost.

Don’t buy anything from Laura Ashley

Like most people posting feedback my story is the same.

I ordered a chair a cushions in February.

I contacted LA when they went into administration and was told I would get my goods albeit it might take longer than expected.

The original delivery date came and went. When I again tried to contacted LA phones lines not being answered and emails ignored.

Email received 19th June from LA advising me that I would not be receiving my goods.

As I paid using PayPal Credit I don’t know if I can make a claim for a refund from Paypal.

As with other contributors I only gave 1 star because I can’t give zero .

Sorry to say it but anybody waiting for a delivery from LA is going to be disappointed, regardless of what you have been promised by them

Is this fraud?

Is this fraud? Bought £1350 of fabric and wallpaper from Laura Ashley website at the end of April. This was more than
one month after administration commenced on 23rd March. I understand that if my order was place before that date then I would have to apply to the administrator for a refund but this should not apply to orders after that date. I have been told that they won't send my order and won't provide a refund. How can the administrator operate a website that offers good for sale but has no intention of supplying. The site is still operating today. No better than an offshore scammer. Disgusting. DO NOT BUY FROM LAURA ASHLEY WEBSITE!

Absolute criminals!Ordered furniture…

Absolute criminals!Ordered furniture worth nearly £2000 in January,2020 due to be delivered in March.Delivery due,no communication of any kind. I thought well, it's understandable with Covid 19etc.
Wrote a letter for an update as you just cannot get hold of anyone, eventually someone rang and said"dont worry ,your furniture has been fulfilled and will be delivered soon as we start deliveries.
Next thing i received os an email to say my order is still "at the manufacturer's stage" and should contact mu bank to claim section 75 or write to administrators!why wasn't i told this in the first place because they surely knew exactly what is happening.And why taking people's money when you know you're going into administration?so wrong.Absolutely appalling customer service too.They just don't help much at all,just ignores the emails and calls.Really awful, I'm so stressed ,not sure what to do now as it looks like i will not be getting my money back or the furniture

Laura Ashley stole my money, criminal.

As a once great company whom I’ve ordered from for years with no problem they are now treating customers with the inexcusable behaviour of just ignoring us.
I Ordered £980.00 furniture item in January 2020 for delivery start of March. Covid meant delivery was delayed. Then they went into administration. They have not contacted me, will not respond to my emails and customer care Phone line Is shut. They have taken my money with nothing to show for it at my end.

I ordered a cranberry coloured Sofa Bed on February 28th, from Laura Ashley in Bangor. There was a 40% discount on that day, and because I had a lot planned for the 29th (my once in four years birthday), I needed to do the transaction quickly. I paid mostly in cash, a total of £1050! I really needed this for Easter. I was told that it would definitely be ready for April. Then about a fortnight later, Laura Ashley went into administration. Before I could get back to Wales, the Covid 19 lockdown began. I rang the company once, and was told that my furniture was in production, but would most likely be delayed by new Covid 19 restrictions. I still haven't been able to get back to Wales, so have no idea whether the shop is now open, or if my order is likely to be processed. I really do not know how to proceed. Any ideas?

The worst customer service experience

The worst customer service ever...

They sent me twice broken mirror item. Call Center never take the call.
This year they didn’t even answer my message. Even I wrote them two time.

The case of last year, they sent the message after my second message. But it was just written “we’ve already sent this message. We could refund you before but now it’s too late for it” something like that.

But... I was very worry about the refund or exchange the item since I recieved the broken product. Because I bought this product for my best friend’s wedding gift.

I wrote the message to customer service just 20 minutes later, just after I received my order.

As you never answered I was very careful at not missing your mail. And I checked and searched your answer in mail box every day. It was the gift for very special occasion. How I could forget to read the message. I’m pretty pretty sure that they never sent any message.

After all telling me “we’ve already sent the message for refund but it’s too late now”,,, It’s really not honest.

I’ve never had such a experience with any other company.
It is really sad.

Absolutely appalling

I would give no stars if I had the opportunity. I was given a £40 gift card at Christmas and haven’t been able to use it as stores closing and also you can’t use it online. Absolutely appalling service from such a shop. I know £40 isn’t a lot compared to what other people have lost, but a total disgrace. They should at least honour the gift card online!!!!!!!!!!

Great service under awful circumstances

So today I visited my local Laura Ashley as I wanted some fabric! The staff were very nice under what must be awful circumstances- they are basically there to sell the stuff off before they have no jobs along with lots of other shop staff at other places. I qued a while but got served then in amongst all the lovely Laura Ashley stuff there was the biggest selection of hideous bright suitcases that the administrators had sent them to sell off for them!!! The poor girl was telling me they’d got loads out the back aswell and they were totally shocked 😮 as they said they were under pressure to sell everything and nobody will reallynwant a suitcase at the moment with the holiday situation. Please take a moment and have a thought for the staff. I know people have lost money but lots of people will also loose their jobs and the staff in the shop were as lovely as they had always been.

Disgraceful behaviour from Laura Ashley board

We ordered a made to measure headboard in January, paid for it and awaited delivery. On 9th June we received an email from Laura Ashley saying we won’t be getting it and to contact the administrators. So I did some digging and found the firm which made Laura Ashley furniture was called Welbeck House (JDP furniture group) Based in Nottingham, great I thought, get it direct, no such luck, they went bust early March due to Laura Ashley not paying them, 350 jobs lost! Begs the question why Laura Ashley did not tell me until more than 2 months later, anyway New Day have reimbursed us which is good of them.

Garratt Furniture - manufactured by who?

Perplexed by some very recent reviews - we ordered several pieces of Garratt furniture on 17th Feb and have been variously told it was in warehouse and delivery (initially scheduled for mid April) would be delayed due to the Covid 19 lockdown - then 10 days ago chased them again to receive response to make a claim against liquidator -and some reviewers saying that received same and yet furniture has then turned up. Have asked several times now where the garratt furniture was manufactured - I need the ordered pieces to finish off a study and a bedroom and getting NIL help from Laura Ashley Customer Care - first time ever I feel that they just don't care. I thought the Long eaton site did upholstery only - can anyone tell me who manufactured the Garratt range for LA ? Just wondering if I can then source the pieces I need elsewhere

Finally my sofa arrived

After six months of waiting and a number of cancelled deliveries, my sofa finally arrived. Unfortunately I ordered chestnut legs and our armchair has come with oak legs. I have spoken to customer services who are trying to resolve for me. Fingers crossed. It is such a shame as this used to be a fantastic brand and most of my furniture is LA.

Where's our sofa - and our money?

Like many other LA customers, we've been caught out by the shenanigans surrounding the demise of this once great company. It beggars belief that a few months ago, the owner (MUI of Malaysia) allowed it, or was allowed to let it, fail and the new owners (Gordon Brothers of Boston USA) appear to have no interest in negotiating constructively with LA suppliers to release product stuck in the factories (because LA didn't pay them?). It also begs the question why LA appeared to be trading whilst insolvent; something which HMG will probably never get around to investigating, given their recent performance which suggests they are incapable of fighting their way out of a paper bag. So, we are left with the option of trying to get our money back from Newday, the credit card company, (Beware third party processors, which enable finance companies to circumvent the Consumer credit act.) I'll keep you posted.
