I really wish I had read the reviews before sending my child here. My son went on a 3 nt 4 day here last week and has got food poisoning from here. Threw up on the last night and the following day, and is still not well 3 days later. Hasn’t eaten for 2 days. Half of the children who went on this trip have all come down with sickness since returning. If you decide to go ahead with this trip, do not eat the food, take your own. Would like to see their food hygiene certificate as poor food seems to be a constant thing on other reviews.

My son went to Kingswood with his college for a 5-day 4-night trip, well on day 3 I went to get him at his request, he describes it as boot camp and prison-like! The bedding provided sheets and duvet were dirty yellow urine stained, the mattress was so hard and lumpy he barely slept both nights, and both his and his dorm mate’s beds were infested with bedbugs! The showers were barely working and cold! The toilets were filthy and there was no privacy or security when showering just a thin curtain. There was lots of loud noise from other guests going on most of the night, other guests running up and down, kicking and knocking on doors till late. Broken door latch so again no security for them or their belongings. Food was bland and barely edible, he was given pink chicken one meal! The place is uninhabitable, unhygienic, and not fit for purpose, if we had read some of the reviews we have since found he wouldn’t bothered going. The only thing he enjoyed was the activities but the poor conditions of the living areas, dirty infested beds, undercooked food, and general uninhabitable conditions ruined everything else. Waste of money, time and in my opinion should be shut down.

do not go here first of all everyone in our room was itchy the showers didnt turn on for more than 10 second the food was horrible and the activities were boring

Recently returned from Kingswood Peak Venture with a group of blind and partially sighted students. The staff were great at accommodating our student's needs and adapting activities. Admin staff were brill beforehand making alterations to our timetable and allowing us to have an additional classroom space. The students thoroughly enjoyed all the activities and have received great feedback from them and their parents. Food was good - think school dinners. But as our students were slightly older, they sometimes went up for seconds which was allowed. As other have mentioned, the accommodation is basic - think youth hostel - but I'm unsure what you'd expect from an outdoor education centre? Our staff bedrooms all had ensuites and we were so tired from the days activities, it didn't matter about the comfiness of the beds. We were slightly nervous about taking a group of VI students to a place we had not been before but they were honestly so brilliant and reassuring - the students had a great time. We will definitely be going back. Thanks again.

My Son has just got back from a week and kingswood Grovesnor Hall.
He said the activities we good and the food was good.
But the rooms were not good at all,he said his room smelt,damp towel on the floor that was not theirs,an un emptied bin and the beds were extremely uncomfortable.
When mh son came back his skin on his face,arms and legs were itchy,flacky white,had to go to the Doctors and was precribed cream,my Son had also vomited since being back.
Not happy at all and I think this is down to the cleanness

The workers were kind and respectful and were always there to offer help. However, the beds were extremely uncomfortable but the food was great

Unmatched experience, luxury like ive never felt before. honestly, i feel like im in the royal family with this much treatment im receiving. not to mention the brilliant staff who all played a part in this experience. they all smelt lovely. and lastly there sense of humour is unbelievably good. Never went a minute without laughing. We’ve been to 7 star hotels all over the world yet the rooms here just blow them out of the water. i saw the brilliant photos of the statue of liberty in new york and even the pyramids of gaza however once we saw the stunning jacobs ladder of kings wood my heart and mind exploded with joy. never felt more excited with the week up to this trip and it was all worth while. the beds were comfortable it felt like i was on a cloud and one of the adventure team saved my friends life from suicide. Went here for 4 days on an NCS residential

- staff were amazing (seb n alex were v cool 😎)
- activities were great also. Before coming the activities sounded a bit boring but we did climbing, archery, high ropes, caving and more and they were fab. I felt like I was gonna get trapped in the cave (amazing!)
- food was not top quality but was adequate and expected
- showers just had curtains on them and they weren't the best
- matress wasn't the best, cleanliness was adequate

It is defo a new experience, sharing a room for 4 nights with people you may not know was completely new. But from the Uno games, the awesome teamwork, people blasting Taylor swift, the rocks in my bed 😭, the screaming in blindfolded activities, the whole trip was filled with brilliant moments

The minor points about the accommodation did not let down the experience. Overall the trip was amazing. The staff did everything they could to make the trip as fun as possible and make it so we enjoyed working as a team together. We all loved Ur dancing seb🔥 also Ty aaron for getting us bottles of water at 11pm the cupboard was locked and u actually did everything you could to get them I was astonished Ty for that water🙏

If you have doubts about going, I would say go for it. I didn't want to go that much, but would love to come back some day it was that good

Christmas Craft Fayre.

My friend booked a stand at the fayre and knowing the place it was being held in I knew it was a very difficult place to find.
It was no surprise that we had few customers.

The kingswood team were excellent, had done their best to promote the day but the locals did not turn up unfortunately.

The sign outside was an A frame and certainly not noticeable.

They needed big banners both sides of the road and at the junctions at each end of Stablebridge Road.
Radio broadcasts and talk shows to suggest the fayre as a venue would have helped.

Disappointing day BUT as I said great care from kingswood.

The staff were so fun and kind. You could tell they enjoyed their job and were enthusiastic about the activities they were running. As young adults we just generally want to have fun and Kingswood gave us this. Everything we did was exciting.

The free times were perfect. Not too much but just enough that we could have a little nap and also talk to our leaders. The accommodation was also very good. Seven of us shared a bedroom of eight and it was perfect.

We were provided with kosher food which was very kind and compassionate, taking in account of our food preferences. The diner staff were super nice too. They easily answered to anyone’s concerns.

Thank you for the best week Kingswood.

Some students couldn't wash there hair due to the shower being only suitable for 11 year olds, no consideration for older students.
Treated like 12 year olds despite being 18 years of age.
excrement matter on some beds, cracks on windows as well as leaking windows.
Multiple reports from fellow students about nausea after eating food as well as bad stomachs.
Quality of classrooms extremely poor and run down with working hours up til 9pm, which was extremely difficult for some students.
Deceased creatures were also found around the pond area which created an awful stench.

My son went for NCS 5 day 4 nights residential trip to Kingswood Grosvenor in Autumn break. He returned very happy from the trip. Enjoyed every activity there. Everything was neat and tidy, unlike the comments we read before going. He got Halal food. Prayer room was provided. Everything was just perfect. Highly recommended for sixth form students.

I think that the thing that made NCS the best was the people that were there. They were supportive and positive and made you feel good about yourself making you smile constantly. One thing I would change when I was there, was extending the amount of time. If I could, I would live there.

Just returned from a fabulous weekend at Kingswood IOW. We took a girls football team for a team building experience and couldn’t have been more impressed with how well we were looked after. Tom was our leader and nothing was too much trouble. He had such a great manner with our young people, encouraging them to stretch themselves but never being too pushy. He was fun, but always professional and very enthusiastic. We undertook a range of amazing activities including zip wire, climbing, abseiling, leap of faith, buggy building, assault course and aeroball which provided the perfect mix of team building as well as opportunities for the girls to challenge themselves individually. Would highly recommend.

Kitchen staff in the upstairs diner were brilliant with us and the students. Thank you!

poor accommodation. no heating despite asking. non existent showers which are extremely hot but trickle out. leaking plumbing in bathrooms. mould in bathrooms. toilet roll not replaced despite requesting. awful food and do not cater for kids with sen food needs or my food intolerance. some of the activity staff were good but some rude and clearly untrained in SEN and spoke rudely to the children. wouldn't recommend for a school residential and would not go back. it seems the primary school age get to do the Zip wire and swing which our students really wanted to do.

The rooms were disgusting. Toilets did not flush. Stained bedsheets if they even gave us some . Food was terrible. There was little to none vegan or vegetarian options. Instructors were ignorant. Rooms were tiny showers either didn't work or couldn't stop.

my son went last weekend and was awful experiance for him. he enjoyed the activities but one of the staff members grabbed him by the arm and shouted at him for playing with a crane fly. Kingswood now under investigation. rooms was disgusting having found rooms dirty cans left in there and not been cleaned. awful place.
