I purchased a pair of prescription lens Ray Ban Specs and they are brilliant. I went to John Lewis Opticians in Leeds and the worker who assisted me was called Kiel. He explained everything really well and answered my many questions. He was really professional and approachable, and it made the whole experience of purchasing a new pair of designer specs really easy. I will definitely shop there again!

The staff at JL Opticians in Leeds deliver a first class customer service. My husband and I both have complex eye conditions. The staff offer helpful advice and always spend time to ensure we get the glasses/lenses we need. Since we went to JL Opticians we have had the best results with our glasses. We would never go anywhere else now. Faz in particular was extremely helpful and offered really good advice.

Faz was excellent, great at suggesting and choosing frames, has a real skill at picking frames that suited me and fabulous at getting the right fit for me, definitely my go to optician now!

Brilliant service at John Lewis opticians in Leeds. After a very thorough eye test, Faz had an amazing eye for what glasses would suit me. She immediately went for a pair that looked amazing - but in a shape and style I never would have chosen myself!!I went away and thought about it but eventually came back and bought them. Kiel and Faz were then meticulous in getting the right fit etc for me. Top class service and I really appreciated the honest opinion and great taste Faz displayed in helping me choose my glasses.

The optometrist at St. James’ centre in Edinburgh was efficient, professional and transparent. Afterwards, a lovely lady named Catherine spent a lot of time helping me choose glasses that actually suited the shape of my face and my needs. She was very patient, professional and friendly and is an asset to the company.

I think my issue is that I was expecting amazing service based on it being John Lewis/David Clulow and what I experienced was distinctly average...

I'm not sure if it was my appearance or because I had my own sight test from another opticians, but I felt I wasn't taken seriously as a customer initially. The man in charge of the practice stands around directing everyone but is actually unapproachable and seems rude.

Every time (for this prescription I have had to visit the store 3 times) I have gone up to the desk the assistants have carried on with what they were doing, not even stopping to acknowledge my presence, a really basic level of retail and customer service.

A younger member of staff did actually take the time out to help me, but as lovely as she was, she didn't actually ask me any questions about my lifestyle or personal style so we tried on lots of pairs!

After deciding on a pair she transferred me over to the Dispensing Optician who took my PD and then went through the pricing, which was unclear to me, as the half price offer was only if you purchased x2 pairs of prescription glasses, which hadn't been mentioned or explained. She had assumed what I was purchasing without asking so inevitably had the wrong total, when she actually listened to me we worked out the total cost. At this point I was regretting my decision and not even sure about the glasses but there seemed no room, or time to change my mind. I didn't feel assured or confident of my decision in spending £500+! But there was no going back now!

After keying in my card details, (no explanation) and giving me no paper receipt (no explanation) and taking my details I was told it would be 10-14 days and to expect a call when the spectacles were ready.

I did not receive a call or email and after 20 days I called into store (where I was ignored for 5 mins) and they could not locate my order or my details. I was doubtful that my order had even been placed and even asked if it wasn't I would be happy to cancel it but no such luck, I was told they would update me the next day. Which they did, so then I went in a few days later to collect...

I have worn glasses from a young age and never have I just been handed my glasses to try on and then told to come back if I needed any adjustments. I had expected to have been sat down checked the fit and if they were sitting straight, none of this happened, and to finish off I was 100% given a random glasses case to go with the spectacles I had purchased. It felt very much like at the point which my money had been taken, my customer experience was over.

Will never visit here again - will continue getting my tests and glasses at Specsavers - I won't be recommending to anyone either, the selection of spectacles isn't even that great it is just that David Clulow in Kingston main store was being refurbished at the time.

Disappointing.

I Decided to change from Specsavers as the prescription was never quite right after research online I stumbled across John Lewis opticians Oxford Street 5th floor and I'm so happy I did...Natalie Who did my eye exam was very patient and thorough, and Juli who helped me pick out my frames did a great job when my glasses did not arrive in a timely manner getting them made That afternoon.The staff are friendly and professional.I now have comfortable glasses can see out of hurrah!!! ps would have been 5* but for the delay in the glasses arriving which to be fair was not the fault of the staff....Esther

The team in the new Reading store are amazing, the manager is a genius. She is passionate, knowledgeable and most importantly cares about you. By far the best Opticians I have ever been to.
Let's hope David Clulow or John Lewis don't close this one down. You have a top notch manager and team.

I have been using John Lewis Opticians in Bluewater for around 4-5 years for all my family.

It is usually a nice welcoming experience. This time however, we were greeted by what can only be described as the most rudest woman I have ever come across in any retail store in the whole of my life!! She stamped her feet as soon as we entered the store.

I do not know where else I can complain about this lady so I have decided to leave a review.

I'm a medical professional myself and was shocked to see how I was mistreated by this woman - I managed to get her name as Teresa before I left the shop and was advised she is the new store manager. Previously I was familiar with Michelle as the store manager who knows our whole family really well.

This new lady made us feel extremely unwelcome and unwanted in the store for no apparent reason. It takes us a long while to convince our son to attend an eye test appointment after his previous history. We did not appreciate this at all. It felt like a completely different opticians to what I'm used to on a frequent basis. It's just so disappointing. I understand people enjoy power in managerial roles but to treat a customer this way is revolting. I can only imagine how she treats her staff or how they could be feeling. I've spent thousands in this store over the years and recommended many other people to John Lewis previously.

How can you put such a rude and abrupt person as the face of your lovely store? It is such a shame.

We come to this store to see your lovely optometrist Raheel specifically as he successfully diagnosed my sons tumour behind his eye which subsequently saved his life a couple of years ago. He never fails to go the extra mile for us all and brings a smile to our faces. My son is very comfortable seeing him. We are forever grateful to him for this.

Apart from this lady that I was unfortunate enough to meet - the store is excellent. The people that help with the glasses selection are also really nice. I know a few of them by name such as Dominique and Mia who previously helped my son choose his glasses last time. They were so helpful.

We did not choose any glasses this time for our son as we just weren't made to feel comfortable in the shop at all. I just wanted to take my son home.

I hope this review is seen by someone and this is changed. Having an eye test is a nerve - racking experience for many people especially my son having been through what he did. Having unwelcoming staff or people who have no customer service skills can really make the process a whole lot more daunting.

This was my first time to do eye test with the John Lewis Optician and the store i went is in Oxford Street, London.

The optician is professional and the tools are clean and tidy.

Despite the price of their glasses are way beyond my budget, the sales representative (Antonio) are being professional and introduced few styles of the frame that would fit well to the heavy lens, which was very helpful. He also helped tighten the screw of my old spectacles and fitted a replacement plastic foot.

The price plan of the glasses are clearly presented in store though they are very pricey.

I will come back for eye test :)

Dreadful and unprofessional service.

My wife, a John lewis partner, went to have a set of glasses made up to a current prescription. After spending in excess of £450.00 she was given them without proper fitting (it was in shutdown circumstances) but after trying to wear then for 3 weeks was unable to wear them. On speaking to John Lewis Opticins she was told she would have to have a new eye test even though her's was current, They refused after several visits to concede that they had supplied defective spectacles. They insisted that they could only deal with her if she had another eye teat even though the supplied glasses were clearly NOT to the correct prescription. I insisted that she took her current prescription to a professional optician who then at £400+ made her up a new set of glasses. They were fine and she sees clearly. JL Opticians at Welwyn sote are clearly unprofessional and even after seeking help from JL customer services nothing more came of it. Please don't make the mistake we made in thinking JL Opticians are in any way never knowingly professional..... Go to a local professional if you want to see the way you deserve.

Hi - I just wanted to say many many thanks to the Opticians Team at your Bluewater Store - They are always wonderful and professional to deal with, whilst also extremely friendly and informative/helpful.

Raheel literally saved my eye sight in my left eye, despite the attempts by my local hospital to dismiss as 'non urgent'! I owe this man a great debt.

He and the team are always brilliant, last week your colleague Khadiza also rose to the highest levels of Customer Service when assisting me with the purchase of new glasses. Lovely young woman to speak with and very helpful - thank you.

Please DO pass this onto the whole team there, as we're always met with smiles and made to feel at ease.

The last visit for an eye test was really great where I found various brands of frame which I admire the most. On the top of that, the customer service was outstanding. I would like to recommend everyone to use the service at John Lewis Opticians.
