A professional and courteous response from David Boor, from an initial phone call, to viewing the vehicle and test driving it. The negotiation of terms took place quickly and openly. David ensured that the car was serviced and valeted to the highest possible standard. Collection was a pleasure and David was super helpful in helping me to navigate the digital setup. A very positive experience.
My initial enquiry was addressed promptly and the whole process from then on went smoothly. The person I dealt with was Tim Cook from the Colchester branch and he was very helpful, as well as being friendly and knowledgeable. I felt I got good value for my part-exchange and the bike I bought was delivered to me on the day and at the time I was promised. All in all, a very positive experience.
I've never dealt with this company before, so my review is of this single experience but based on what I found I would recommend them to anyone looking for good service and good bikes.

After buying a Honda and sorting out tax, insurance,i was on way home when fault light came up.Wondering what sort of response i was going to get when i rang up i did not need to worry.Poppy the sales person emailed straight back to book into service.Rang next day expecting to get appointment in few days,but service receptionist (Molly)? booked me in 3 hours later same day,and put me at ease as regards repair,which was done.Great customer service, a credit to John Banks Honda

Tim gave me good advice and was very helpful, as I haven't had a bike for a while. I wanted a bike with a sit up riding style and not to heavy and they had a KTM 390 Adventure which suited me just right. So I went ahead and bought the bike and everything went so smoothly and kept well informed and delivered to my home. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone and give them 5 star rating for their services.

Quick replacement made easy
Chose similar model to a relatives I was impressed with. Pleasantly surprised with extra perks not mentioned in the advert, and the slightly lower advertised price was honoured.
Took some of the sting of replacing a stolen vehicle away!

Highly reccomend John Banks Hyundai - Cambridge!
I purchased a Hyundai Kona from John Banks Hyundai in Cambridge back in November 2025, and after driving it for several months, I am thrilled with the experience.
Darren Briggs was exceptional throughout the process—knowledgeable, patient, and professional. He arranged a seamless test drive and handled the paperwork with impressive efficiency, delivering the car exactly when promised.
As for the Kona itself, it’s everything I was looking for: comfortable, feature-rich, and reliable. I’ve seen great fuel efficiency and solid pickup on the highways. I highly recommend both this model and the team at John Banks for anyone looking for a stress-free car-buying experience.

Customer service non existent
I have a Renault Captur II which has been serviced by Motor Vouge Renault of Bedford from new but they have now left the Renault Franchise.
My only option now is to transfer my car care to John Banks Cambridge and thats where my issue starts.
I have called them 3 time in the last 8 days or so to talk to the service department about a recall and other work, but to date had no response. albeit the receptionist who answered my calls was always polite and respectful all credit deserved has had to keep apologizing for the service departments lack of contact. I was informed that 3 emails had been sent to the service department requesting that they contact me. To date Nothing.
From viewing other posts here I should not be surprised at the lack of customer satisfaction and service. In contrast Motor Vogue always answered there phones in the service department and made appointments there and then.
Based on the above I don't expect to get any response from this review like my phone calls.
Anyway next step Renault UK who always go the extra mile to look after there customers.
Just a word of advice to the Chief Executive at John Banks Group they need to have a look at the service department in Cambridge

Firstly, I would like to personally apologise for the frustration you have experienced when trying to contact our Service Department in Cambridge. Having to make three calls over eight days without receiving a response is not acceptable, and I completely understand your disappointment.
While this does not excuse your experience, I do want to be transparent that we have recently faced an exceptional period of staff absence due to illness alongside recruitment challenges within the Service Department. This has unfortunately impacted our response times. However, regardless of the circumstances, it remains our responsibility to ensure customers are contacted promptly — particularly when you are transferring your vehicle care to us following Motor Vogue’s departure from the Renault network.
I am pleased to hear our Reception Team handled your calls professionally and courteously. That said, the lack of follow-up is something I am addressing directly with the local management team to ensure immediate improvement.
Unfortunately, without your details I am unable to locate your vehicle record or respond to you directly. I would very much welcome the opportunity to put this right for you.
