Very poor response
I sent in a form with under the impression they would get back to me, and I received a generic ‘unable to assist’ email from their public law office.
I replied explaining it shouldn’t have gone to their public law and human rights team as this is completely unrelated to what I wanted help with. I also expressed concern of how they could determine they can’t help based on a few sentences I wrote and not having further knowledge, when the 2 other firms I contacted both said it was a genuine case they wanted to take.
I then received another generic and likely pre-written email from them saying they only consider taking cases relating to 2 very specific topics (‘family residence in care homes & hospitals’,or ‘deputyship Court of Protection hearings’). However their website says “Whatever your situation, you'll find someone with the expertise to help you.” And then goes on to list hundreds of areas.

Irwin Mitchell handled my claim effectively
Irwin Mitchell handled my claim against a package holiday operator from start to finish. I had spent over two years pursuing it, the first part on my own, getting nowhere with the company. Once IM took it on, it was resolved in about nine months, with a result I couldn't have achieved myself.
Aysha Khan was prompt with requests and paperwork and kept me informed without needing me involved in every step, which suited me. Communication was good throughout. There was some confusion over the figures near the end, but it was explained and didn't affect the outcome. There were no hidden costs, and the final settlement was above what I'd hoped for
I'd highly recommend them.

I dealt with Katie regarding an issue with a neighbour. Katie was polite, courteous, knowlegable. Following our intial discussion she offered to do some research and call me back. A very positive experience
I used the web site to request an appointment to update my will and received a quick reply . I was directed to the relevant staff and made an appointment easily at a time to suit me.
On both occasions I visited the offices, all staff were friendly, welcoming and professional at all times. Even reserving me a parking space.
The solicitor I saw was extremely helpful, providing information, advice and answering fully all my questions. Email communications were answered quickly and kept me informed and up to date.
Although I’m sure that I M handle thousands of requests like mine, I was made to feel that I matter, staff were easy to talk to and were concerned that my needs were met and that I understood everything.
I would not hesitate to recommend Irwin Mitchell in the future.

Oliver Collett was amazing
Irwin Mitchell helped my Dad begin a claim against his old employer after he was diagnosed with Mesothelioma. My dad sadly passed away whilst the claim was ongoing. A solicitor I would highly recommend
I can’t thank Phil Joy enough for the advice and support he gave me during what was a very difficult and emotional time in my life. Joe Matchett was our solicitor during what was a very difficult time. we found Joe to be professional, reliable, sincere and he genuinely cared. He shown empathy where needed. His communication was perfect every step of the way, and kept us updated throughout the whole and lengthy process. Joe would listen and answer any questions that we had, we were never made to feel that we were taking up any of his time.
