There has seldom been such a bad time to sell houses, especially in counties with a glut of second homes dumped on the market. Add to this the fact that my experience of house purchase/sale is limited to one in 1974. Market movements and regulatory change came as a massive shock when circumstances forced me into having to sell my brother-in-law’s house. It was an idyllic setting, with fishing rights to the nearby river and with its own footbridge access. What could be more desirable? One unique selling point was that it had been allowed to dilapidate and, therefore, offered huge scope for new ownership to fulfil their own dreams. As such it was marketed.
Well two years, six months and a bit it sold but not before four false starts going almost to the exchange state before collapse. This continuous tale of woe, added to the care home problems for my brother-in-law and social services could have been a disaster! Until I was recommended to use Charlotte Osborne from within your company.
Charlotte’s calm, resourceful approach was a dependable voice throughout the tortuous process and one without which I might well have foundered. Her diligence in ploughing through four failed sales and her unfaltering assurances removed any anxiety which could have swamped my efforts. It is to her credit that in a machine dominated age she has reinforced my belief that human interaction needs the care and dedication which she applied either in person or on the phone.
I have made a strong recommendation to the estate agent and all those whose services I used in combat with Exmoor Parks Authority, that they use your firm. I know that Charlotte is the true measure of Irwin Mitchell.

Our 30-year-old son is autistic, has severe learning disabilities and many additional complex support needs requiring two carers 24/7. Irwin Mitchell were fabulous!
We were advised to contact Irwin Mitchell by the hospital where my son received treatment after being hit by a van in a pedestrian crossing. He is now fine but it was a very difficult time and IM were fabulous - at the beginning when we were still traumatised and anxious about the extent of his injuries and during the 3 years it took from the accident till the damages payment was finally awarded. Legal proceedings take a long time and can be really confusing, but our solicitor Stefanie Bramley did an amazing job not only in terms of securing an even better outcome than we had hoped for, but also in terms of being there to explain all the details and making us feel safe. I hope I never need a solicitor again, but if I did I would not hesitate a moment before contacting IM.
