Having been involved with Irwin Mitchell for the last 2 and a half years following a life changing accident of my brothers, I cannot fault the knowledge and professionalism provided by Alan Ball, Jennifer Fish, Rose Gilman, Natalie Jardin and many others. They have all provided care, empathy, support and guidance throughout without which my brother wouldn't be where he is now. I cannot thank the team at Irwin Mitchell enough for their support throughout my divorce and contested financial remedy proceedings.
From the very beginning, Lara Tucker helped guide me through the early stages of the case and gave me confidence that I was in safe hands.
Throughout the proceedings, Clodie Allott, Carmel Brown and Ellie Fairhurst worked tirelessly on my behalf. They were always patient, professional, supportive and reassuring, no matter how many questions I had. Much of their work took place behind the scenes, but I always felt fully supported and knew they were working hard to achieve the best possible outcome for me.
One thing I will never forget is a sentence in one of Ellie's emails which gave me the confidence to continue towards the Final Hearing when I was struggling with whether to settle. It gave me the strength to stand firm when I needed it most.
The teamwork between Clodie, Carmel and Ellie was exceptional. They guided me through one of the most difficult periods of my life with kindness, compassion and professionalism.
For the Final Hearing, I was represented by Laura Heaton. Her advocacy was outstanding. I remember telling her afterwards that I wished I had been able to record her cross-examination because I was so impressed by the way she presented my case. She was calm, prepared, determined and incredibly effective in court.
What impressed me most was Laura's generosity in recognising the work of the team around her. Laura herself said that she could not have achieved what she did at the Final Hearing without the outstanding work of Clodie, Carmel and Ellie throughout the case. That said a great deal to me about the teamwork behind the scenes.
This was one of the most emotional and challenging chapters of my life. The support, kindness and dedication shown by Lara, Clodie, Carmel, Ellie and Laura helped me through it and gave me the confidence to move forward.
I will always be grateful to every one of them.

Advice, support and execution of application for Deputyship
At the beginning of 2026, I found myself in the position of needing to apply for Deputyship for my sister, now in her ‘80’s, as she had not appointed anyone previously with Power of Attorney. I understood that it would be a fairly complex procedure, and that I might need someone to help me with this, & that initially I would incur a considerable financial outlay. So I needed to be confident that the person I chose would be professional & efficient. I was unsuccessful finding someone locally, so looked at larger companies online. Irvin Mitchell had good reviews in dealing with this sort of application.
I contacted them and Naila Kosser was appointed as my contact. From the very first phone call, Naila was extremely helpful, and that has continued throughout the process. I now have the Order I need to manage my sister’s financial affairs.
