NO ITEM RECEIVED AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Brought a Penn Tidal fishing rod online over a month ago (14th Jan) which still hasn’t been dispatched (19th Feb).
after not hearing anything about the item being dispatched within the delivery time frame of 8-15 days I contacted Gerry’s via email.
Gerry’s replied to my email and said that there was an issue with my item and it had to be ordered in (there was no communication from Gerry’s to inform me of this).
I proceeded with the order and expected to wait a further 2 weeks which has now exceeded that time frame. my item has still not been dispatched and I still haven’t received any communication despite emailing and messaging on Facebook requesting an update.
Terrible customer service and I will not be using this company again.
Quick enough to take the money but no end product which has left me having to get the bank involved to retrieve my payment.
In the end I used VMO, no having to wait a two week delivery period, great service/ communication and my item was sent and delivered to my door within 2 days.

One month delay
One month delay, no information, poor communication
I placed an order on 3 January 2026 for a high-value fishing rod costing over £400. At the time of purchase, I was informed of an 8–15 day delivery window.
More than one month later, the order is still marked as “awaiting dispatch”. I have received no tracking information, no confirmed delivery date, and no written explanation for the delay.
I have contacted customer service multiple times by phone. While staff are polite, they do not provide any meaningful information and appear limited to repeating generic responses. Emails have either gone unanswered or resulted in vague replies with no factual update.
I have been patient and reasonable and did not rush to cancel the order. All I have asked for is transparency — when the item will be delivered and why it has been delayed. After a month, this information still has not been provided.
For an order of this value, the lack of communication and accountability is extremely disappointing. At this stage, the issue is not just the delay itself, but the way it has been handled.

New Fishing Suit
i had an on line chat to discuss best option for a new winter fishing suit , was recommended the Kinatic Xtreme -40 , ordered and arrived within three days , perfect fit and extremly warm and weather proof
One of the worst customer experiences I've had... go elsewhere.
I've made two orders with Gerry's in the past 60 days, BOTH of them have been terrible experiences.
First order: 26th Dec (told 14 day maximum delivery on product page)
Multiple chasers sent after 14 day period.
Response on 13th Jan "we are looking towards the end of the month before this is going to be available"
Order cancelled & refunded, ordered elsewhere and received next-day delivery.

Second order: 5th Jan (told 14 day maximum delivery on product page)
Chaser sent 20th Jan. Told will be sent by 23rd on 24hr delivery.
29th Jan, 24 days after initial order, no delivery yet - still waiting.
Two follow up emails sent this week, no responses.
Funny as they will respond in a couple hours if your email is about making a new order...

Feedback for Gerry / founder:
- As a business owner myself, its painful customer experience done so wrong...
- Stop selling items you do not hold in stock for unless you can be 100% confident on timelines promised
- Create a transparency policy that gives people full transparency on hick ups / delivery days etc even if its not ideal information (customers prefer transparency rather than silence)
- Hire a support team who can respond consistently
PS: I never leave reviews, both for the business' sake and spending the time doing so. In this instance, being a repeat issue, I hope it saves someone else the time I could of saved.

Had what I wanted in stock. Took a little longer than expected to deliver but that could have been holiday delays. The prices are very competitive and was improved with the new year sale discount. The Preston’s rod safe is an excellent piece of kit keeping all my match requirements in one piece of luggage, safe and tidy.

Outstanding - I have to say the service from Gerry's Fishing Chris in particular is second to none, I must have spent a small fortune over the last couple of weeks and the patience and guidance I received at crazy hours of the day was second to none.
I found the products to be cheaper and service very quick, that being said my confidence is very high with Gerrys so if I was only going to save a couple of pounds else where I would still shop at Gerrys!
