The most appalling service I have ever received. Ordered three trees which arrived dead weeks later. I was told they were 'dormant' and to wait until the end of May for signs of life. They were still dead at the end of May so I asked for replacements for them. The response from CRJ Fruit trees was extremely rude. They sent replacement trees but they were not the same varieties and diseased with fire blight! A part full can of soft drink had been included in the packaging and emptied itself over the trees in transit. I emailed to complain but received no response. I see from other reviews that I'm not alone in this experience. How are they still getting away with it? They also trade as Chris Bowers & Sons and Johns Market Garden.

Did not receive order. Received partial refund for part of order. Never received other tree I order. Not replying to emails or query form on website.
Have opened a case dispute with card provider.
Do not use this company.

I ordered two fruit trees and after 2 weeks no trees. I emailed them, no reply I called and it’s permanently on answerphone.
I paid by credit card through PayPal and I contacted them and got a refund immediately.
If you buy from these cowboys use a credit card or PayPal or both as you are more protected. But I’d advise don’t go near these con artists poring as a company.

This is the same company under Chris Bowers also with bad reviews and same patterns. I was left without replies after Apple Discovery arrived with canker. Don’t buy from them.

Ordered a pear tree from them, they were quick to take the money, but so far no tree and no reply to my email and voicemails. Rather appalling experience so far. They appear not to be trustworthy.

When I ordered on line for my daughter’s birthday delivery was promised in 3-5 days .That was 14 days ago. Spoke to lady last week who stated that delivery could be up to 27 days but that’s not shown on website. She said they can’t change page on website: why not? its WRONG and they know. They are clearly out of their depth.
I had trouble with these people some years ago when they delivered the wrong tree and refused to take it back. They’ve not changed. More fool me.

They sent me a dead tree in March. Gave it the benefit of the doubt by waiting until spring, in case there was any life in it, but completely dead. No response to email or telephone.

Ordered two fruit trees as a gift, only arrived after I enquired when they were going to be dispatched, no communication, trees arrives, all leaves had been eaten and only stalks left, have sent emails and tried ringing, one phone full no messages can be left, the other number no one answers just goes to voicemail, which I left a message, heard nothing back!!!! Shocking experience, avoid!!!

I ordered a cherry tree on 13/4/26 didn't receive it until 22/4/26 when they say in 3 days on website. It arrived in really poor condition buds all brown. I planted in immediately but it's shown no sign of life at all. I have emailed and rung for refund but no answer. Do not buy from this company

Horrendous customer service. I've had no communication for 3 weeks since my order, no replies to emails, the landline voicemail is full and the mobile is never answered. I've asked for a refund but still nothing. Don't touch with a bargepole.

Really poor experience! Slow delivery (3 weeks), unable to contact them by email (no reply) or telephone (their voicemail inbox is full!). Once the bare rooted plum tree arrived, it was packaged in dry straw (clearly that dries the roots out) branches were broken in transit, and it has now been two weeks in the ground without budding out. It is either dead or seriously weakened. I strongly advise against using this company.

The worst company I have ever dealt with!!!

Lies from the very beginning. Clearly state 3-5 days dispatch from order. Not true, they deliver when it suits them and when questioned they say they can take up to 28 days when busy. If you complain about this you get a very very rude response back.

I now have a complaint lodged with both Trading Standards and HMRC.

Please avoid this company at all costs. They are also the same company as Chris Bowers so please avoid them too. The reviews are just as bad!!

One tree missing from order, customer service said I must have missed it in the packaging. A pear bare root maiden. Missed in the packaging. For real.
If I’d ordered a pear pip then maybe.
I did wonder about the reviews but thought I’d take the risk. Still not resolved, can’t get through to anyone. Obviously busy hiding trees in the packaging.

Poor Communication, but trees do arrive.

I order from them because the prices are low, and they offer fruit trees with rootstocks that are not otherwise available. I ordered dwarf trees and cordon trees. I thought they would dispatch them in a few days in pots, but they arrived barerooted in the dormancy period, which was not a problem for me. Looking to see how they grow and hopefully get some good fruit soon.

By the way, they do not send the invoice/receipt via email as most do, but you can access it in PayPal. Just click on the transaction.

Ordered two fruit trees in 2023 and they both had fruit, for the first time, in 2025. One ordered was a Dr Harvey, which gives a largish yellow/green apple but the fruit we had was small and very dark. I emailed CJR via their website, more than once, but got no response. Tried phoning them, but no answer, left messages but no one has coe back to me. Having read other reviews it seems I'm getting treated the same as many others. This is a terrible service.
If you're reading this and intending to buy from CJR, then my advice is DON'T. You wont then be disappointed.

Ordered 3 fruit trees in 2 orders a couple of days apart. 3 trees were received within a week or so, well-packaged.
BUT this company needs to invest in its back-office for customer care. One of our 3 trees is either the wrong tree or is mis-labelled. We tried phoning multiple times, used their online web form and emailed them directly. There was no response to any of our approaches. So we might have been a happy customer but now we are not.

Advertised as 3-5 business days for shipping. Placed an order, contacted them and they said it would be more than 10 days. I told them that wouldn't work for me as it was a birthday present, please cancel my order. They then ignored me, didn't cancel the order and shipped the product two weeks later. Emailed them again and still been ignored.

Ordered 2 plum trees and a cherry tree in February 2021 from CRJ Fruit Trees. Finally this year (2025) the plum Trees are bearing fruit. Unfortunately not the Fruit I was expecting. Both Trees have black plums when one should have been a Victoria plum tree and the other a Greengage. I would not recommend buying anything from this company as you cannot be certain of what you are going to get. Next time I will make sure I buy from a local nursery that I can visit and ensure I get what I order.

They sent the wrong fruit tree (turned out to be a pear rather than a damson!). It was actually sent by Chris Bowers and Sons so I think they are the same people. They refuse to remedy the matter so I would avoid dealing with them.
