I got laser eye surgery back in 2019 and my experience was brilliant. Everyone at Focus was helpful and professional, the before and after care was great and my eyes are still absolutely perfect!! I’ve been lucky enough to have no issues at all since the surgery, it was the best thing I’ve done and would recommend Focus to anybody.

No issues with my sight at all followed all guidelines and it's a joy to wake up with clear bright vision .

it's been almost ten years now (ignore the date of experience as it doesn't let you post the actual date due to it being over 12 months ago) since i've had the procedure. the sight is still holding up. it was 20:15 on one eye and 20:12 on the other so close to as good as it gets after the treatment and i've been really happy with it. no issues at night nor post op complications.

my friend also had it done (still waiting for that referral reward haha!) and his eyesight has slightly deteriorated unfortunately. i've been looking after my sight, letting my eyes rest and doing eye exercises. good luck to everyone who goes for it, i think the clinic is the best out there and the founder is a star. ta!

funnily enough, i'll be going for another appointment at a clinic on the same street this month as one eye is getting a slight blurriness but not due to the correction, which prompted me to leave this review.

It has now been 10 months since my laser eye surgery at Focus Clinics. I can confidently say it's one of the best decisions I ever made. 20:20 vision has made such a difference to my life - there really have been no downsides. Would thoroughly recommend Focus. Did in 2020, with all the precautions necessary: the entire team was very reassuring. The doctors and the entire team are awesomely prepared and a delight to speak; they explained everything and had a lot of patience with me. I was still a bit worried to let anybody deal with my eyes, but it was extremely fast, painless, and now I got more than 20/20 vision! Went for the after-surgery appointment and they were super nice and did all the possible checks: fast, professional, kind. When I remember how my life was two years ago, I just feel this was a great choice and I suggest it to anyone who wants to get rid of glasses.

I had cataract surgery with implanted lenses and cannot recommend this clinic highly enough, nor the skills of my surgeon, Samer Hamada. The care I received from everyone from the moment I walked through the door for my initial consultation was second to none. Wonderful reception staff, thorough and caring examinations, scans and tests by experienced ophthalmologists and a deeply intensive thorough consultation with my surgeon prior to surgery where he examined my personal eye needs based on my lifestyle and requirements along with the results of the extensive testing I had done. I opted for the monofocal lenses with one eye for distance and one eye for near and intermediate. I am now completely glasses free for the first time in 14 years. I wore varifocals for many years. I now have better than 20/20 vision. The day of surgery was smooth, professional and caring. Absolutely painless and took maybe 20 minutes or so for both eyes. Didn’t even get to listen to the whole album I had selected be played during the procedure. (David Bowie - Hunky Dory if anyone is interested). This surgeon is without doubt one of the best in his field. I had done extensive research prior to selecting him and going to the eye clinic he worked at, Focus Clinic was a wonderful choice for me. His team also are second to none and the after care is thorough. The outcome far exceeded my expectations and I am so grateful for the renewed gift of good, glasses free eyesight after so many years and increasing issues with my eyesight. If you are in two minds whether to select this clinic, don’t be. It is a wonderful service from start to finish.

Had laser eye surgery back in January and couldn't be more delighted! My vision is crystal clear and even goes beyond 20/20, also the recovery process was smooth, fast and seamless. The team has been absolutely immaculate in their aftercare and I can't thank them enough!

Procedure pain free with good consultation and optical staff. Aftercare 100% effective with out of hours contacts. Surgeon explained everything in detail before and during the procedure.

I would not have gone back if any concerns from my previous procedure. Therefore, would not hesitate in the slightest to recommend them to friends and family.

The difference before and after has been exceptional and surprising what you miss through even slight adjustments in your sight.

I can’t recommend Focus Clinic enough. I took a lot of time to research different places and decided on Focus Clinic due to their brilliant reviews. Everyone at Focus is so friendly, I loved that many of them have had their surgery done there themselves so were on hand to answer any and every question or worry that I had! My LASIK surgery was with Dr Allamby, I was very anxious when I arrived but he soon made me feel totally at ease. The surgery was so quick and totally pain free, I could see straight after the surgery and within 3 hours my vision was crystal clear. It really is life changing and I’m so glad I chose Focus, I couldn’t be happier with the results, I now have better than 20/20 vision.

I had the ICL procedure last year at Focus. My eyesight was quite high in both eyes (almost double figures). Together with astigmatism it meant I was not eligible for laser. The clinic warned me after the initial telephone consultation that it might not be possible to go down that route. Having this conversation before going for the tests was very helpful. Instead they told me I may be able to have ICL. I was not familiar with this. It's less common than laser, but has its own merits. One of which is that it is reversible. Even though less procedures are carried out, it has been around long enough that it is tried and tested and relatively safe.

I had the chance to meet with Mr Hamada before the procedure. This was informative and good. He is obviously an expert in his field and marvellous at his job. On the day I felt like I was in good hands. Everyone around was lovely. We had a minor issue with one eye as it turned out there was a little area that wasn't taking the anaesthetic, which was a painful discovery for me, but the Dr stopped immediately, identified the issue and was able to work around it.

The procedure is not cheap. So, please consider your financial situation and decide if it is worth the outlay. There are many potential side effects, as there would be with any surgery. These can include needing top up laser, if there is still a residual prescription. The immediate time post surgery there is medicine and lots of eye drops to keep on top of. These are things to bear in mind and weigh against the convenience of no longer needing to wear glasses and/or contacts. Glasses and contacts never really bothered me and after the procedure I never had a "wow this life-changing moment". So, initially I didn't feel like it had made any massive difference. It was like having contacts in all the time. However, with the benefit of a year it has made aspects of life easier. Waking up and being able to see is fun! No longer needing to bring packs of contacts or prescription sunglasses on holidays and being able to see in the pool or sea is great. Doing sports is better too. That being said, if I wasn't able to afford it or wasn't able to due to my eyes or prescription not having stabilised, I would have been content to keep wearing glasses and contacts.

Aftercare with the clinic is magnificent. I felt like they took all my concerns seriously and didn't just discharge me within a few months after the procedure. As I still had halos and dryness for a fairly long time after, they kept observing me and checking up with me until there was sufficient improvement. In the days post surgery they were in contact to make sure all was well and answered all my questions. They were all mega nice whenever I came to the clinic. They gave me eye drops when I dropped by and needed them.

If you are able to comfortably pay for the procedure, then I would highly recommend you use Focus. The investment in your eyes can be worth it. It is a major decision though, so please do your research. I can only say from my experience that I'm glad I did it and please bear in mind I was on the fence about having anything done for so long, probably even up to the day of my procedure. Focus made me feel looked after along the whole journey and never pushed hard to force me to make my decision. They provide top level service and I'm lucky I had a friend recommend them to me.

I am so happy I chose Focus Clinics to carry out my IOL replacement surgery. Their care and attention was exemplary: I had some difficulties early on (not through any fault of theirs) which they treated with due care, as they did two years later when I needed YAG treatment in both eyes. I was not charged extra for any treatment, and at all times was confident that they would deal with any problems that might develop. I still have 20/20 vision, and absolutely no regrets.

Dr Allamby and the staff have been very polite and patient and very informative with the entire process - they also helped me financially by giving me an extra 12 months to distribute the value of the treatment.
I am very happy with how quick and smooth the process has been but also that you get the follow up appointment for a whole year to make sure all is well with your eyes.

I haven’t had time to get back to personally thank everyone there, and I hope they read this and I really would like to thank all staff and dr Allamby for the procedure.

It’s been over a month now and I cannot recommend Focus clinic enough! Their patient care from start to finish is second to none! Life has totally changed for me in the most positive way, I feel so much more happier and confident in myself since my laser eye surgery and thank Dr Allamby and his team enough.
