I purchased some stunning zip boots from Doc Martens in Bristol. They were not cheap. But the lovely assistant remained helpful and patient and didn’t once try and push me into the sale so I went ahead and treated myself. After only a few weeks the very rigid zip came away from the leather so I contacted the care team via X (twitter). I had also emailed and called but after a few days had no response from the website (eventually they did respond). The incredible advisor on X was amazing. Clo helped me through every stage of the process in getting a replacement sent over tirelessly. They were so eager to assist and it could not have been a more simple procedure to return the boots for a new pair. I was hugely impressed that once the proof of postage was sent (via photo) the new boots were popped straight in the post. Take note other businesses who charge you returns and keep you waiting for weeks. They actually arrived the very next day. Truly incredible service from Clo but also Doc Martens policy as a whole. Always always purchase direct is my advice. If I’d gone through Office or Shuh I don’t think this would have been such a superb outcome. Thanks Clo. You’re brilliant.

Ho contattato il servizio clienti per la prima volta a novembre 2024 in merito a un reso che ho effettuato correttamente, rispedendo la merce come richiesto. Ad oggi, gennaio 2025, non ho ancora ricevuto il rimborso nonostante abbia fornito i dati richiesti più volte via email.

Il servizio clienti telefonico è totalmente inadeguato: impossibile ottenere risposte utili, e alle email non rispondono o si limitano a richieste ripetitive senza mai risolvere nulla. Trovo inaccettabile dover rincorrere un’azienda così nota per ottenere qualcosa di dovuto.

Esperienza pessima e deludente. Non acquisterò mai più da Dr. Martens e sconsiglio vivamente a chiunque di farlo, soprattutto per la totale mancanza di assistenza post-vendita.

Appalling experience. There is NO customer service at this organisation, to say there is is a misnomer! No way of communicating to an actual person. Waiting for a refund for circa 20 days is unacceptable! I will never purchase from them again.

Customer service is nonexistent. When I finally got an email from an actual human being and not just auto-replies, it was obvious he had not read my explanation, and gave a standardised "solution" to my problem. He didn't reply to my request for return/refund. So I tried calling. I was given 4 choices by the automated voice - EVERY. SINGLE. ONE ended my call with either "please send an email" or "we are currently closed, please come again". I'm so disappointed.

I am shocked that the quality of these boots is so poor! I wore them literally a few times. The leather got easily scratched. Customer support is useless.
So I basically waisted £120 :(
I'm never buying anything from this company again, I thought they were supposed to produce high quality stuff that lasts years, but in reality they are no better than bloody Primark.

We would like to thank Jack Walker of Dr. Martens, Nottingham, he went above and beyond to help us recently, he was friendly, a brilliant communicator and really came through for us, he is an excellent employee of Dr. Martens and a brilliant human being. I would complain about the customer service, but after a week, they are still nonexistent.

Boots are lovely how ever the half sole is coming apart every time I pull my feet out, only had them on a couple of days! Should not expect this when i have paid £200 for a pair of boots!! Customer service was absolutely appalling!!! What an awful experience to be told it’s not a fault

Terrible experience. I will never purchase from them again. After mistakenly entering the wrong address, I was unable to correct it despite realizing immediately. Additionally, they only refund the item’s value when you return something, while the buyer is responsible for shipping costs. I lost 400kr on shipping with no reimbursement. Be aware of this if you decide to shop with them. I do not recommend it.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I’ve received regarding a damaged product that was sent to me. Despite the fact that this issue was entirely caused by Dr. Martens, customer service informed me that I must resolve it myself and pay for the return shipping. One of the "options" given was to donate the damaged shoes and buy another pair, which is both unreasonable and unprofessional.

When I requested to escalate the situation and provided legal proof regarding the warranty, I did not receive a response. I’ve followed up several times my order was from August and now it's October with no reply. Additionally, it's been over a month, and I still haven’t received another one of my orders.

The lack of response, combined with the unacceptable handling of the damaged product, has left me extremely disappointed. I expect an immediate resolution to both issues and a response from a manager to address this situation.

Sole split from main shoe after a few months of wear. These was purchased form London, made in Asia like the others. Shame I can’t upload pictures. Customer Services advised it was wear and tear. They was out of their 12m warranty. I rarely used them. Less than a few miles walked. Disgraceful. They know there’s a manufacturing problem but simply push blame onto customers. Any google search will show that many others are having the same issue. Why not be honest with your customers?

Dr. Martens' return policy feels like it's from the early days of online shopping!
The return is entirely at your own cost, and if you're buying from the EU, the return has to be shipped to the Netherlands. A company as big as Dr. Martens should know that shoes, in particular, are difficult to buy without trying them on. There will be cases where they simply don’t fit. Since shoes are their specialty, the least they could do is cover the return costs.
DO NOT BUY DR. MARTENS ONLINE.

I agree with reviewers who say the quality of the build of sandals is poor. I bought a pair of the hydro leather sandals under two years ago and have literally only just worn them in. The strap on the inside has come off rendering them unwearable.

Contacting the company was fairly quick in terms of a reply but I was told anything over a year is not considered for their ‘guarantee’ of faulty products as they say it will be because of damage. It’s really obvious from the photos sent that the shoes are still in near new condition aside from the seam coming apart on this key strap.

Do not waste money on their sandals. There are higher quality, cheaper, products out there!

Dr Martens are no longer the company they used to be!
As I lifelong DM lover I have several pairs of their shoes, but after wearing the voss sandals only a handful of times and seeing them break, am left utterly disappointed.
I’ve contacted DMs twice to raise this issue but have received no response.
Do better Dr Martens, do better!!

I’ve had at least 6 pairs of dr martens over the years but the quality has definitely deteriorated. My last 2 pairs of Voss white sandals have been very poor. The first pair went yellow and the second pairs sole literally fell off! Very disappointing

I bought some Docs less than a year ago, and the leather is peeling. It's disappointing. I reached out to the customer team, and Andrew V asked for photos of the shoes but then said it's normal wear and tear. Considering I've had the shoes for 10 months and only wear them to work twice a month, this explanation doesn't seem right. Their warranty is a scam.

two years ago I bought shoes. I was disappointed , when I wanted to put them on, I saw that the sole was detaching from the rest of the shoe. I was convinced that their product would last a lifetime and would be indestructible (at least that was the case in the past). plain chinese crap. I will never buy them again.

I’d give no stars if possible. I purchased a pair of sandals on holiday last year in Rome from a Dr Martens owned retailer. I wore them last summer and on taking them out of storage a couple of weeks ago I noticed both sandals breaking in the same place on each sandal. I contacted customer services and sent in photos clearly showing they’re faulty (NOT damaged) but as I haven’t got proof of purchase they won’t do anything. I bought them over a year ago, who keeps receipts for that long? DON’T waste your money on these sandals they’re substandard and faulty and customer service from a well known brand is absolutely shocking.

Bought a pair of Blaire sandals. The noise they make when I walk in them is embarrassing. What a complete waste of money

If you live en e.g. Denmark, I will not recommend you buy Dr. Martens from their online store. The customer service is horrible, virtually non-existing.

They refuse to let you return the shoes to the perfectly good Dr. Martens store in the center of Copenhagen. If you want to return your shoes, you will have to pay for shipment to The Netherlands yourself. You have to arrange for shipment with a courier of your own choice - and that will be expensive if you want to track our package.

So, if you want to buy shoes fromt the online store, you should be completely sure these are the shoes that you want, and that they fit. If not, you should probably buy them from a reseller who offers free returns and better customer service.
