The staff at dobbies are marvellous but the property could do with a make over.

All good, great selection of plants all looking very healthy.
Pity that Christmas was starting in store. It is only just September!!

Plants today in healthy condition, the staff in the cafe friendly and helpful.

One of many regular visits to this great garden centre, that just about caters for all our needs. Plants, garden equipment, pet food, wild bird food & feeders, hedgehog food, fish food & pond equipment and also a small but well stock Sainsbury's sub-store.
To complete the experience there is a nice little Cafe for a pleasant break from walking the centre.

Well I went round dobbies every one as so pleasant I will definitely go again

I visited the York Dobbies to use my birthday card treat. As always, the staff in the cafe were friendly and efficient. The cafe has a good range of sweet and savoury food. I like the stick in the garden centre and l think having the Sainsbury's in store is a good addition. I think it would help if Sainsbury's had their own till to avoid queues.

I went to the garden centre to buy some bedding plants to fill a few gaps in our garden. I spotted some suitable ones in the reduced section which were ideal for just £1. Bargain! Then on the way out I noticed that seeds were half price. I grabbed some tomato seeds. As I have a Dobbies club plus card I got another 10% off that too. Bargain!

Good value but the york centre needs some serious investment in the cafe

Called in for lunch, disappointed there aren’t cooked meals, only baked potatoes, toasted sandwiches and similar.
We enjoyed what we ordered but would have preferred a proper meal. Service was good.

The garden center and staff are lovely, its very spacious to walk around which is essential when pushing a wheelchair or walking with limited mobility . However the experience in the cafe is a little more different and negative. Even though most of the staff are welcoming , there is 1 whom is surely towards the customers no matter how pleasant and well-mannered they are . Not everyone is aware of the procedure for ordering food and table numbers . It does give the impression that she is not happy to be there which leaves a bad taste in your experience. On the first occasion I put it down to having a bad day , after all we are human and its possible however I have been in several times and she is always the same. 5 stars would have been given and I do think the lady member of staff needs to go on a customer care course or leave if she is so unhappy!

I was in Poppleton Dobbies on Sunday 31st July 2022 and I had the most incredible experience due to an amazing member of Staff called Danny staff ID 27583. He was extremely helpful and went over and above to help us. He was very professional and personable and made myself and my Grandma feel that nothing was any trouble. He was able to answer all of our questions and gave great advice. I was so impressed I asked for his name when we got to the till. Absolute asset to your store. Thank you again Danny.

Always enjoy a good mooch round Dobbies, York. The plants are ever changing and good quality. The cafe is lovely and friendly. So pleased they are serving meals again now. A big bonus is that I can pick up my shopping at the in=store Sainsburys
