Reliable bank, excellent customer support
I've had a notice account with DF capital since 2023, and much more recently a 1 day (instant) access account. They have offered comparatively good rates of interest - certainly compared to "high-street" banks.
I adminster everything though their website (they don't have a phone App) which is clear and easy to use.
I have (recently) found their customer support EXCELLENT - very quick to act on account closure requests, also speedy and helpful response to messages sent via their secure message facility. (Which is what prompted me to write this review - because it is such a refreshing contrast to a continuing nightmare I've got with a well known high-street bank).
Opened a 1 day notice account
Opened a 1 day notice account. Super efficient, easy to use, website easy to navigate and speed of response to secure messages excellent. Would recommend. Had a few problems opening the account but rang customer services who were excellent, helpful and ensured everything was sorted effectively and efficiently
Technical error on website - application not accepted
Applied to open a 2-year fixed rate account - good interest rate. Application progressing OK as I entered all my details, confirmed I'd read all the usual forms and was then presented with an uninformative "Technical Error" page suggesting I try again later. Suggest you don't start unless you're prepared to do everything several times over!
I have only positive things to say
I have only positive things to say. Joined DF bank in 2022 and had great interest rates since. Always higher than my other savings accounts. They maintained those high rates for 3 years and were easy to communicate with and efficient in every way.
I now need to withdraw my money and am genuinely disappointed to be leaving them.
Very smooth account opening and funding process
I had a good read through general feedback and reviews for this bank.
To me , it looks like they have updated their application process and for me at least it was very smooth and efficient.
Opened a 5 year fixed savings account and all went as expected. Email to confirm each deposit received and easy to log on to see the additions.
I imgine that if you have a decent address history and are easy to find on a credit check, their automated system should find and verify you easily.
I will need to wait a year for 1st interest payment but don't imagine there will be any issues.
Autocratic Lead - don't listen to your side
Clearly an autocratic lead facility that makes its own summations/decision no matter what you say or do. Asked me to email statement so i did. They said i did not and did not even ask for proof. So they just blocked my investment and left me in limbo
Heartless Response During Family Bereavement
I am writing this review after a genuinely upsetting experience with Dfcapital, and I hope it helps others make a more informed decision before trusting them with their savings.
Following a recent bereavement in my family, I contacted the bank to request early access to funds held in a 90-day notice savings account. I was facing unexpected and significant costs due to the death of a close relative — including funeral expenses, medical bills, and urgent international travel. I provided a detailed explanation and multiple pieces of evidence, including the death certificate, funeral bills, flight tickets, etc.
Despite the bank’s stated policy that early withdrawals may be considered in cases of bereavement or financial hardship, my request was refused. I was told that financial hardship, in their view, only applies to cases of bankruptcy or insolvency — a standard so extreme it renders the "exceptional circumstances" clause essentially meaningless for most real-world situations.
There was no meaningful acknowledgment of the bereavement, the documented costs, or the emotional impact on my family. Instead, I received a cold, templated response that prioritised rigid adherence to policy over any show of compassion, flexibility, or basic human understanding.
If you’re considering placing your money in a restricted-access savings product with this bank, be aware: in a genuine time of need, you may find your money locked away — regardless of how valid or serious your situation is.
I deeply regret choosing Dfcapital, and I won’t be doing so again.

ID checking easier than those companies that use AI (Artificial Incompetence) such as Mitek and Onfido both of which seem to think that everyone must have a gigapixel state of the art smartphone. Phone call post-opening was swiftly answered and query regarding deposit procedures swiftly answered too. Top rate of interest at the time.

Have been with these people for 18 months now on fixed term and have just reinvested in another high interest easy access account. It all does what it says on the tin. Superb communication and service.
Minimum withdrawal amount is my only quibble
Both myself and my partner have opened individual easy access savings accounts with this bank. The account was very simple to setup and transfer to and neither of us have had issues withdrawing funds.
However, my only quibble is the minimum you can withdraw each time is 1k. This is a bit annoying. Though you can take out 1k and then put back in the bits you don't want, it is cumbersome and you lose a day or two's interest. That's why the 4 stars. But it is probably the best interest rate around.

Intransigent, arrogant, inflexible and completely unhelpful. Slow to respond to queries.

It was easy to open an online account, I didn't encounter any problems, it was straight forward and fast. I rang DF Capital afterwards with a query and got answered quickly and my query was answered to my satisfaction.
CFCapital - UK Bank Fraud Team stopped transfer
This is my experience, October 2022. Transfer of funds was stopped by my UK Bank Fraud team; conversation ensued where I was advised, without prejudice, to check Companies House and documents filed there, the FCA and the FSCS websites for more information. Whilst I may have been able to over-ride their intervention, signals were negative and closed account without investing. Because of this, a one star rating.
The smoothest so far
So far, very impressed with the speed and that they actually had someone available on the phone to help.
I needed to open a Fixed Rate Bond. This should have been simple. But Paragon Bank randomly returned the deposit to the original account and didn't answer secure messages or the phone.
In contrast, DF Capital account opened very quickly, system user friendly, someone on the phone able to resolve a query.
