Cohens Scarborough. My consultant asked me to get a 24 hour blood pressure check to look at overnight pressure fluctuations. The person I spoke to at Cohens declined to even consider providing the check on the basis that I had not been told that I had high blood pressure. They did not even let me explain the consultants reasoning. How is it that this person thinks they know more about my clinical condition than my consultant? How does a member of staff at a chemist manage to overrule a consultant without even knowing the medical condition or reasons for the checks?
Really appalling attitude to take and a somewhat over inflated opinion of their medical knowledge…greater than my consultant’s knowledge clearly.
A one off test in the chemist is not what was needed but I was told that they would determine whether I need a 24 hour test…so the consultant is to be ignored. They had no clue as to what the doctor was looking for but took a wholly antagonist stance…they would decide what was needed not the consultant.
I have this done elsewhere with no hassle so will go back there…at least they accepts consultant requests.
Helpful suggestion - perhaps make it clear to your staff that if a consultant requests a 24 hour blood pressure check then there will be a reason for that and you just might not be as knowledgeable as them. Your staff have no knowledge of my condition and should not assume some kind of higher status beyond their capacity. Terrible attitude.

Childwall Fiveways Cohen's Liverpool is great! I called earlier today to ask if my medication could be delivered (I qualify for delivery services). The average wait is a day or two but the lovely lady who answered the phone was able to deliver within a few hours which was really appreciated. She was really helpful and polite. It's a wonderful branch and all staff are kind, patient and very efficient so many thanks xx

Doesn't even open on time... This is a specific review for the Ireland wood Leeds branch. They rarely open on time and there seems to be one guy who knows what he's doing behind the counter trying to spin multiple plates while he trips over the rest of incompetent staff. Avoid this one

This experience relates to the Pensby Road branch in Wirral. I spoke to Shaun. He was very kind and courteous and helpful. After being passed from Pillar to post by my local medical Centre through a patches request, they refused an appointment with my GP and sent me to a pharmacy to get treatment. After arriving at the pharmacy, it became clear that I needed to see a doctor. Sean took the time to fill out the patient recommendation form to help me get a GP Appointment. Thanks for your service Sean!

Used the Breightmet Health centre chemist today and it’s absolutely filthy. Obviously not been cleaned for months and months everyone waiting for service was saying the same

Cohens chemist Kearsley Bolton is the best for customer service great staff who go out their way to be so helpful. I am I’ll at this time and they have went out their way to help with my medication. From the pharmacist to the lovely girl who delivered it all (a lot) you all are the best people I know

I just attended Cohens pharmacy at Ansdell Medical Centre. There were dozens and dozens of baskets filled with completed prescription items strewn all over the working area in no discernible order. A group of five female workers stood gossiping at the back of the working area while ignoring the ever-increasing queue of people waiting for their attention. The place was a complete shambles.

It is patently obvious that this company puts its profits and personal preferences before the source of its income...its Customers! Since centralising the dispensing of NHS Patients Prescriptions, known as "The Hub", the service has gone RAPIDLY downhill. Patients(their Customers) have to give a minimum of Seven Days notice when renewing a prescription! The final nail in the coffin is they have simply dispensed with the simple text message informing you your prescription is ready. This has been "explained" as a "blip in the system". This "Blip", has been occurring for months now (do they not have an IT Hub?) Actually, they don't even bother giving the excuse at all now! While their minds are centred on making more millions from the NHS, the patient(Customer) is decidedly bottom of the pecking order. Enough for me. I have better things to do than spend half of my life checking on the whereabouts of my medication! Time to move to a company who respects its customers, and doesn't treat them as Cash Cows!

Cohens at Garforth had my persciption at 2/1/25 and they misplaced the three items, one being a controlled drug and after chasing my GP surgery twice, I spoke to cohens on 11/1/25 and they confirmed they had misplaced the drugs and could not deliver for two more days as they do not deliver drugs on a Saturday. I have walking issues and a blue badge, so going to cohens was not an option. Weather poor and icy. I am out of the controlled drug, so i need to suffer until they get there act together. There fault entirely and they only offered "sorry". Poor customer service and lack of care to there customers.

I was given a lecture today in cohens,Mkt Weighton how I should expect to wait 7 days for a prescription and asked if I wanted to wait till I got a notification ... when the item was sitting there awaiting collection

Not in my case - but some might well be in discomfort for days while cohens sit on their prescription
Ironically on the bag they gave me it said "fast track your prescription ... "
Is this 2024 or 1954 ?!

I want to thank Cohens for their speedy service today. I have a repeat prescription which I processed through the online service yesterday morning. My GP surgery signed and returned the prescription yesterday. I already knew it can take 48 hours to process but, as I am due to go on holiday tomorrow, I approached Cohens and, without question, my prescription was processed within 15 minutes. A massive thankyou to all Cohens staff on duty tonight in the Waters Green chemist, Macclesfield, a very Merry Christmas.

I changed to this Cohens pharmacy Heaton Moor approx 18 months ago. I was having problems numerous times trying to collect my mums meds from pharmacy linked to GP. This pharmacy helped me sort out “tray” (blister packs) medicines for mum. I have to collect various meds 3 out of 4 weeks every month. Occasionally mums meds needs changing or “Acute” meds added like antibiotics. I nearly always see same ladies , and they are more than helpful. I can’t praise the staff more . They are always busy , but have never been anything other than helpful to me .

Cohens at Firsway Health Centre Sale are second to none in terms of the service that they offer.
I have used this chemist since it opened with the Doctor's Surgery some years ago and I wouldn't use anywhere else.
Their attention to detail and courteous manner are a credit to Hardeep and his very busy Pharmacy.
I hope this review offers a true reflection of what is a very important supplier to the visiting public.

I use cohens on a regular basis for multiple friends and family's prescriptions the service is second to none the staff are friendly and welcoming as well as knowledgeable for my needs and welfare the support I get I can't fault at all. I've witnessed for myself the empathy they give people with mental and with drug addiction as a separate room is allocated for privacy and is soundproofed giving the customers confidence in the staff attending to there needs overall the establishment is very well run and on the ball in every aspect a chemist can be.

Never answers their phone!!

Wasted trips to attend the pharmacy are required to find out they still don't have your prescription ready.

If I could leave a minus star I would. A prescription that I never picked up due to my ailment improve overnight (so antibiotics not deemed the best choice). I’m now being chased for £100 fine because the NHS say it was picked up and not paid for due to benefit claim. So not only did I not pick up this medicine, Cohens put it through as a benefit claim when I’m not even on any benefits. If I’d have wanted the medicine I’d have paid. Now the stress of fighting due to Cohens incompetence

Terrible service, one time I just rung to make sure my prescription was sent down before I set of walking with my 3 children and when I got there and sat down waiting for it I heard the 3 staff slagging me off behind the counter saying who does she think she is ringing telling us to do her tablets, then the man looked over to notice I was sat there, then I have a perception every month everytime I go in I get told I have to come back in another 2 days even tho it has been sent down a week, there is also tablets always missing then other day I went to pick my tablets up as again they missed some from the 12th November then one of the ladies got extremely nasty asking when I’d put it in I said the date and said I had done it on the patches and went to get it up on my phone to show her she said that means nothing so I said what’s point in having a service then to order medication if it means nothing so 2 lots of tablets what I have to take everyday and not allowed to just come of them I had to wait 7 days in total before they would give me them.

I give no stars if possible. They don't answer the phones, fail to fulfil repeats when you do get through, ie two weeks and still waiting for my meds... I will go in person tomorrow, I will change chemists also. I cannot recommend them, very poor service.
