Every time I go to pick up my two prescription’s they are given to me, in two big plastic bags that can fit 5 items in. (They use to be paper) The bags have labels all over them with my name address NHS number and date of birth. If anyone got hold of the bags they could get into my bank account with that information.

I use Cohens chemist on Lyndhurst Rd , I just want to praise the friendly , caring , staff and management . Yes they maybe, busy and yes we do have waiting times , but they are all professionals , they’re helpful and Knowledgeable . I was recently in hospital for a while and came out with big changes to my medication and it was lovely to get an unexpected phone call from Stuart the pharmacist , asking how I was , explaining about the changes on my meds and going through them all. Then at the end asking if I was managing etc . So I have no complaints whatsoever, if you just wait till they let you know your prescription is ready , it’s done , no problem .

Time and again they appear to have no system for locating fulfilled prescriptions awaiting collection. On several occasions I have watched two or three members of staff radomnly wandering around looking in various unmarked baskets with the no real system. Twice I have been told it's not ready then suddenly someone else says "Oh it's here" "who left it there?". Cohens Cross Hills
No need for a debate with you. I reported this 3 or 4 yearsago when you promised a review. Nothing changed.

Yesterday I visited the store I asked if pharmacist could check my little boys eyes who is 3 years old as his eyes gets all sticky and crusty in the morning, I could not get an appointment when phoned the GP but they advised some antibiotics eye drops for him over the phone without even seeing him in person ..I was quite reluctant to use antibiotics eye drops when he was not even seen by GP in person , hence I thought I would see the pharmacist and take his opinion as well , I could see him standing behind the wall but does not want to come out , I had requested couple of time to the gentleman behind the till if he could see my son , he tried speaking to him twice but he just didn’t come out and I was told he says I won’t be able to do anything anyway antibiotics eye drops have been prescribed already ..I just want to say it would have not taken him few seconds to see my little boy I mean it could have helped a concerning mother too ..Aren’t he there to help and see people if they want to discuss their health issues and advice them course of medication ..It happened twice he refused to see me as well once when I had ear infection was told he can see only under 18 people which I understand but my son was under 18 ..It’s really bad customer service I might have to change Cohens to Boots where I had better experience ..

The public are very quick to complain these days, especially when it comes to NHS services that we often take for granted. I felt I should make the effort to praise good service received from my Cohens Chemist, both locally in Leeds and using their online services.

After Cohens making a serious prescribing error a few years ago (it was a controlled drug) they have now given me a course of medication that the date will expire before I finish the course. They couldn’t supply my full prescription last week but didn’t think to tell me and when I noticed the slip you take to pick up the missing medication I asked them why they didn’t think to tell me.
One member of staff in particular is obviously out of her depth, working so slowly assisting customers the queues are frequently out the door.
I know I’m not the only one who isn’t happy, our neighbourhood Facebook group regularly has complaints about the pharmacy.

I was sent to Cohens Basingstoke by 111 because I had an infected cut on my finger. Normally I’d try and get a GP appointment but it was out of hours and I was going abroad in three days, so needed urgent antibiotics. Cohens weren’t interested and sent me away saying there was nothing they could do. I understand that a pharmacist can supply a medication which is normally prescription only, provided that a patient has been prescribed it before which I had been for a similar issue, but they were totally disinterested and unhelpful. This isn’t the first time we’ve encountered this at a couple of pharmacies (for different problems) since the introduction of the 2024 Pharmacy First, so clearly this new revolutionary system isn’t working. I had no choice but to call 111 back and go through the entire process again before being sent to join the unhappy ranks of walking wounded clogging up A&E on a Saturday night. If I’d been able to get the help I needed for what was in fact something relatively minor, then I wouldn’t have ended up taking time and resources away from a genuine medical emergency. Don’t know why NHS sends patients to Cohens , took three phone calls and I’m still waiting for someone to get back to me, pointless

I have just taken time out of a busy day to visit your pharmacy in Holme Ln, Cross Hills to collect a prescription. Before leaving, I checked the opening times which are advertised as 9am to 6pm.

I got to the pharmacy at about 1340 and was told that they were unable to dispense any prescriptions, not even pre-prepared prescriptions in sealed bags, because the Pharmacist was not present. They then pointed to a sign stating that the pharmacy are unable to dispense prescriptions between 1320 and 1420 EVERY FRIDAY because the pharmacist is never present between those times.

Why is the pharmacy even OPEN to the public during these times if it is not able to fulfil its function as a pharmacy? At the very least, if the Pharmacist is ALWAYS unavailable at the same time every week and it is therefore not possible to dispense ANY prescriptions or offer any pharmaceutical advice, then the pharmacy should be closed to the public and the published opening times should be amended to show this.

I will now have to take yet MORE time out of a busy working day to collect this essential medication. This is simply not good enough.

To make matters WORSE, I initially posted this directly to your complaints team via your website and received the response:

"The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending your message later, or contact the recipient directly."

I know, let’s close the chemist at lunch time when most people take their lunch break at work and have the opportunity to come to the chemist… seriously!? Who thought that was a good idea?? My chemist closes for lunch but then reserves the home delivery service for the elderly (who are retired and have all the time in the world). Fair enough if they have mobility issues but my grandad runs marathons and he gets home delivery… you’re not giving anyone under the age of 60 an opportunity to collect prescriptions!! And then you have the audacity to put posters up saying ‘support your pharmacies’ or ‘save your pharmacy from closing’ - perhaps if it was open outside of most people’s working hours, you wouldn’t have to beg to keep your pharmacies open…

Cohen’s Guiseley, their delivery service is a joke. Ordered replacement statins on my GP online system on April 5. It's now April 23 and I've just phoned to enquire about yesterday's latest non delivery. No deliveries today: I've been promised a delivery tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath. I've been without statins now for a fortnight so I don't suppose a few more weeks will make much difference.
To add insult to injury, they have a large notice on their door, proclaiming their delivery service. I'm toying with the idea of changing to Boots but not sure how to do it: I'm in my eighties and I don't find navigating these systems very easy.
If you rely on the efficient delivery of your meds, I suggest Cohen's is not for you!

My partner worked for Cohens chemist in their main hub where all the blister packs are made and It was utter chaos. I mean they forgot he was on probation, he was left on probation for 7 months. and then he applied for his books in October to start the qualification and they lost the sheet he had to sign to get the books. And on top of all that. they gave him 10 hours before an Saturday shift. he finished work at 10pm at night and had to start at 8 am. he was sleep deprived and they gave him a 10 minute break for a 6 hour shift. if you want my honest opinion I don't think you should apply here. they don't treat there workers right you are meant to get 11 hours between shifts and a 20 minute break for 6 hours. One of their accuracy checkers was extremely ill while working around pills that they are touching constantly, they proceeded to cough all over the pills, touched the pills after touching their snotty nose they even picked pills up off the floor which was full of mud from shoes that picked it up from outside so it was very unhygienic their line manager basically bullied people into doing overtime

I am a regular customer at your Freshney Green Grimsby branch since opening. service has always been good, BUT... I feel that I must let you know for the last 4/5 years I've noticed and received superb service from the staff and especially the Pharmacist whom when I called into branch for a covid jab plus presciptions, . He moved Excellence to a new level.Thank you. Patrick Green.

Absolutely rubbish they refuse to take responsibility and blame the doctors total discrace ever since the lad got caught steeling medication your better taking your chances at the vets

I have used Cohens Chemist (Cross Hills) since 2017. I have never had an issue with my regular prescriptions. All the people in there are friendly, helpful and professional! Everything is always on time and advice if is given where appropriate. Brilliant service!!!

I use Cohens Chemist Harrogate.
They are always very helpful and polite. It’s a very busy chemist but always have time to help and explain things that need explaining eg a new medication how and when to take it, anything to look out for. I’m so pleased they have renstated their delivery service. I would certainly recommend them.

Cohen's Oswaldtwistle go the extra mile and treat people with care and respect and are always welcoming, I can't fault them.
