I took a flight to LA for the airlines…
I took a flight to LA for the airlines crams a credit card form down your throat they they all don’t do it, but this person was aggressive. Want me to fill out this credit card form so I seen it and I saw where if I spent $3500 in three months and paid it off I’d get 80,000 points so I did it and for that reason only so just to keep this short on five weeks in I’ve made six phone calls which when you call their customer service plan on 30 minutes on hold minimum because I’ve done it six times. Trust me and as of today I’m waiting now 10 days up to 10 days for them to send me a letter with a reference number on which then I have to call back and be on hold for another 30 minutes promise you and the best I can tell two months of my three months are gonna be burned up by then which will lead me one month to spend $3500 and pay off to get my free points, which I forgot to say getting this credit card took my credit score from 826 down to 798 so I tell him let’s just forget it. Let’s cancel it. Let’s do away with it. Let’s pretend this never happened. Give me my credit score back well does anybody wanna guess the answer to that ding ding ding ding I’m sure we got a winner you’re right can’t do that so I would recommend highly highly against this unless you want one rammed up the backside of you run. I’ve got a Chase card. That’s great. I got a Goldman Sachs card. I’d highly recommend. I got a Visa card. Got recommend. I’ve got a Mastercard. I’ll recommend I got a US bank card I would recommend I got a Capital One card. I would recommend but if someone tries to get you to get the citi AAvantage I’d run for the hills unless you got a bunch of time to waste my Cash app card. I’d recommend my Cash app card over the damn thing.
Zero Consumer Protection Citi
Zero Consumer Protection: Citi Abandoned Us Over an Uninhabitable RentaI am deeply disappointed by Citi's complete lack of customer support and consumer protection. We booked a vacation rental that had raw sewage odor leaking into the house from an outside septic tank. It was completely unlivable, and half of my guests could not even sleep due to the toxic stench.Despite paying $1,000 for a hazardous nightmare, Citi closed our dispute and told us we were completely on our own. I expected a premium credit card company to stand by its customers when a merchant fails to provide a safe, habitable service. Citi chose to protect a broken booking rather than its loyal cardholders. If you expect your credit card company to have your back when things go wrong, look elsewhere.
Citi credit cards are terrible
Citi credit cards are terrible. i have had a account for years and the only thing you get is them constantly LOWERING your credit limit. Never late never had any issues and they still lower your credit to match what you owe. I will never have there card again. Credit One is a lot better and ill stick with them.
Horrible HORRIBLE
Horrible. HORRIBLE. Inept customer service and innumerable obstacles calling the customer service number.
The card was blocked making a hotel reservation in Rome. After OVER AN HOUR on the phone including two disconnects and assurances the card was unblocked I still could not use it. I used my Visa instead. Once back in the states I will obtain a new card from another company and shred the Citi American Airlines Mastercard.
American Airlines citi card is awful
My American Airlines card for some reason got ported over from barclaycard. Barclaycard gave amazing service, now it's a city card and it is the worst card I've ever owned. It gets blocked at the very worst of times, when I really need it to work. I'm going to stop using it.
COSTCO NEEDS TO CUT THEIR TIES WITH…
COSTCO NEEDS TO CUT THEIR TIES WITH THIS AWFUL COMPANY!!!
They are a nightmare to deal with. Even Costco travel representatives have a hard time dealing with them. They automatically decline when disputing charges, even with proof it was unauthorized. The customer service is by far the worst I've dealt with they are rude refused to transfer to a supervisor. Paid off card and will be cancelling immediately. As a consumer I will take my business elsewhere and suggest others do the same.
UNFRIENDLY AND INCOMPETENT IS A BAD MIXTURE
customer for 10 years, credit limit still 200$, meanwhile i achieved an AMEX Centurion Card (!) no problem for me. BUT here comes CITI
fraud booking - called 23 times (no Joke) each time 1 hour wait time !!!!! none of the brain donors that they employ there is dumber than the other
NOBODY cares AT ALL about he customer
nobody speaks english (although they think they would)
it is a disgrace to America
UNFRIENDLY AND INCOMPETENT IS A BAD MIXTURE
Would Rate Lower if Possible
Would rate lower if possible. Similar to some other posters, I paid off my account in excess of 20K twice in the last year and just received notice that they were dropping my account credit from 27K to 1730.00. I have a TJ Maxx card with more credit that that. And, I have been a Citi member since 1987 with an Excellent (no late payment) record. Beyond that, every attempt, bar one, to communicate with Citi regarding this mater has been met with condescension at worst and disinterest at best. I am aware that this review will be ignored by Citi, but may it serve as a warning to those considering Citi moving forward.
I have been a Citi card customer for 10…
I have been a Citi card customer for 10 years. I have always paid on time and I have maintained an excellent credit limit. Despite that, my APR has been increasing by as much as 30%, which is completely unacceptable.
I contacted customer support, and a representative named Moon told me they could lower my rate, but only until the next term, about three months from now.
How is it possible for my APR to keep rising every term, while the only relief offered is temporary?
This card feels designed to destroy your financial stability. They do not seem to value loyalty, consistent on time payments, or long-term customers at all.
The most frustrating part is that they advertise new cards and new loans with lower APRs so the system clearly works differently for new customers.
Does that make sense? Because to me, it only confirms what I’m saying.
This is the absolute worst bank
This is the absolute worst bank. I could only use my card once before they locked it. After i try to use the card at a different merchant, citi declines the transaction and locks the card for no apparent reason. On the app it indicates declined then later i get a text message from citi saying they went and approved it.
Trying to reach someone at customer service is impossible. I consider myself very patient but after being on hold for over an hour and a half to no avail, that's absolutely ridiculous.
CITIBANK, the card that doesn't want you business!
Terrible experience
Terrible experience. I got hung up on two times for just asking questions on how to get my card verified for my digital wallet. Representatives were extremely rude and very hard to understand. I am very disappointed especially since I got this account through Costco. I highly do not recommend Citi bank. Absolute trash
terrible they do not understand…
terrible they do not understand understand english illiterate rude inept.
Misleading product information
I’m very disappointed with the experience of getting a new Citi credit card.
After approval, Citi provided my card information and instructions for adding the card to Apple Wallet, which gave me every reason to believe I could start using the card while waiting for the physical card to arrive. I successfully added it to my Wallet, but every attempt to use it was declined.
I called Citi and was told to try using the card information online from my computer. That didn’t work either. I was ultimately told that I have to wait for the physical card, which can take up to 10 business days.
This is especially frustrating because the welcome offer gives customers a limited period of time to meet a spending requirement. I had a $400 necessary expense today that I specifically wanted to put on this card, and I couldn’t.
If a new card cannot actually be used until the physical card arrives, Citi should make that clear from the beginning instead of providing digital card information and instructions to add it to a mobile wallet in a way that makes customers believe the card is ready to use.
The issue isn’t waiting for a physical card. The issue is being told and shown that you can start using the card, only to discover after multiple declined transactions and a call to customer service that you actually can’t.

It was not my choice to move my American Aitlines credit card to Citi from Barclays
Citi has horrible customer service
They declined several transactions today which were important and when I tried to call to get it straight the wait was more than 60 minutes
The worst part was there were no other service options through text or email which I always prefer.
What are they doing taking over American Airlines accounts from all formally satisfied customers when their service is so terrible?
Citibank keeps calling me everyday 7…
Citibank keeps calling me everyday 7 times a day to tell me about my credit card payment overdue I only need one message. I am annoyed by the obnoxious constant calls
I just canceled my Citi bank only a few…
I just canceled my Citi bank only a few weeks after I got the card. Barclay was much better and so disappointed I had to endure the poor customer service with Citi. They sent emails to me for 2 accounts even though I have only one card.
It's very difficult to understand customer. They claim I owed them on a past due account but I had a credit balance only a few days earlier. Really unbelievable that these guys are still in business. When I canceled it took at least a half an hour.
Cancel before they hit you with annual fees because they do not waive them
I had two cards and called and cancelled them due to not using them. They cancelled one and then charged me an annual fee on the other and would not waive it so I had to pay it or they would rack up late fees on a charge I never made. The rep on the call had a strong foreign accent that I could not understand a word she said. Worst company and I will never use them again.
Worst Credit Card and Customer Service…
Worst Credit Card and Customer Service Experience I Have Ever Had
My American Airlines credit card was originally with Barclays and was transferred to Citi. Since that change, my experience has been an absolute nightmare.
After the transition, settings on my account were Kajuchanged, my account was compromised, and my credit card was stolen. Although the fraud situation was supposedly addressed, Citi refused to ship my replacement cards to my current address in Brazil. I ultimately had to spend approximately $220 out of pocket on FedEx just to receive my own replacement cards.
When the cards finally arrived, they immediately had a fraud alert. Since then, I have spent an unbelievable amount of time on the phone trying to resolve basic issues: 2½ hours on one call, 30 minutes on another, 1½ hours on another, and another 1 hour and 40 minutes today. After all of that, my problems are still not resolved.
I am constantly transferred from one department to another, especially between customer service and fraud departments. Calls disconnect during transfers, and I have to start the entire process again. At one point, I was even transferred to someone who spoke Japanese when I speak Portuguese and English.
Now I simply want to add my card to Apple Pay and adjust the tap/contactless feature because I am overseas, and even that has become another frustrating ordeal.
For a major international bank handling an American Airlines credit card, this level of customer service is unacceptable. Customers traveling or living overseas should be able to access their accounts, receive replacement cards, resolve fraud alerts, and use their cards without spending hours and hours on the phone.
I deeply regret that my American Airlines card was transferred from Barclays to Citi.
Terrible experience. Terrible customervice. Endless transfers and unresolved problems. I would strongly recommend avoiding Citi credit cards, especially if you travel or live internationally.
Unethical
So they never tell you that they will charge a minimum $10 fee on ALL Venmo payments, regardless of how small the payment amount on the venmo. They just bury in their terms and then SURPRISE you see it some day on your bill, and they also wait until the NEXT billing cycle to add that charge on so that its even harder to connect what it was for. Ridiculous.
Citi cancelled my credit card without…
Citi cancelled my credit card without prior notice , What bothers me most is lack of clear communication . I've tried to get answers and understand what is going on ,but i feel like i'm being left in the dark . i understand the banks have security procedures but the customer should also be treated fairly . Since moving to ##AIM #HUB##...I've appreciated how straightforward the withdrawal process has been with clear communications .
