Britpart Td5 fuel filter caused starting issue
I bought a td5 service kit for my discovery, a week after fitting it my discovery had starting issues and this turned out to be the britpart poor quality fuel filter. After fitting a Bosch filter my starting issue has gone. Your parts are of a sub standard and you know it. 2 years ago I fitted a new front indicator to a discovery 1 which filled up with water immediately, and the brand new plug kit was rotten within days. All parts have or will be returned to my supplier as and when I get chance as I don’t have time to be running around returning parts that should have worked in the first place!

New Britpart radiator for Range Rover P38 fitted six months ago. Today a cloud of steam on the motorway at a hundred km/h downhill. The radiator burst at the plastic. That was the first and last time I installed something from you in my car. I've never experienced anything like it. The engine has been completely overhauled. The cooling circuit with new water pump, thermostat, heating radiator, expansion tank and cap... all OEM. And your f... radiator is bursting. Thanks for nothing...... Take your parts and throw them straight in the bin, saves a lot of hassle.
Parts don't match packaging
I bought a set of main crankshaft bearings from a retailer and Britpart fulfilled the order directly. Although the bearings appeared to be the right size according to the packaging, they actually sent 20 thou oversized bearings. My crankshaft is now very firmly jammed into the block and will require the block going back to the engineers to remove it. You would think they could get the right part into the right box, but no. They clearly have no quality control.
I bought a Britpart gasket set but…
I bought a Britpart gasket set but found after fitting some of it to my engine that every single copper washer in the set was just copper coloured steel and all stuck firmly to my magnet.
Steel washers will not deform to make a seal,they will leak.
I pointed out the issue to Britpart and they just said send it back to the supplier and buy a more expensive gasket set if you want real copper washers.
Britpart are just a disgrace,have no interest in the fact their gasket set is useless,no interest in putting it right for future customers.
I am never buying anything else from crappy obnoxious Britpart.
Discovery 2 auto gearbox oil cooler
Bought a Discovery 2 auto gearbox oil cooler. Getting the inlet and outlet hoses onto this was almost impossible.
Issue seems to be that they’ve sprayed the whole thing in black paint and given the precision fit, the hoses won’t locate.
Seems like a flaw in the manufacturing process causing a major fitting issue.
Why do you do such low quality things Britpart?
Britpart super gas suspension…
I ordered a full Britpart super gas suspension kit from LR parts and within 2 months of fitting the rear shocks were creaking and grinding like 30 year old parts. Took to an approved Britpart fitter who said the shocks needed replacing as they were grinding in the sleeves and creaking like crazy.
When I approached LR Parts about exercising my warranty rights I was told that I had to remove the shocks, send them back to them at my own expense, and live without my landie while they were sent back to Britpart for assessment. Great for those of us who don't live in the middle of nowhere (10 mile round trip for a carton of milk!) and who have more than one vehicle!!!
Was advised by LR Parts to buy a new set of shocks (if I needed to use landie), take the old shocks off, pay again for them to be fitted (third time of paying after having them taken off for checking at approved dealer) send them back (again at my own expense - should have read the small print apparently), wait to see whether Britpart deem them to be faulty under warranty (can't make this up), then if approved I get a new pair of rear shocks - which having bought a second pair to be able to use my defender would just be a spare pair of shocks - shocking!!!!
Brake seals
Brake seals for the series one failed the first time they where used. Thankfully while in the garage, if it had been on the open road I dread to think what might have happened. Parts where dangerously substandard and had to be reworked to make them safe.
Not OE
I bought a service filter kit for my TD5 Defender, it claimed to be OE, the oil filter is about 2/3 the size of the LR one removed. A little googling found that the filter has been reduced in size to make it easier to fit. Only problem Britpart, smaller filter means less filter area, means less filtration. I know that the LR filter location is poor engineering but if the filter could have been smaller I am certain the engineers at Land Rover would have come up with that solution. Reducing filtration on any engine is not a good idea, but doing it on one with a turbo is plain stupid! I will never buy Britpart again.
Bought Lynxevo diagnostics for my Range…
Bought Lynxevo diagnostics for my Range Rovers, not very stable and the response time from Britpart over queries is atrocious. Now the system has cancelled one of my entitlements and will not let me deploy the diagnostics on my Range Rover Sport. I have been trying to resolve for the past month and a half but Britpart have not replied not even acknowledged my problem. Here I am with my work vehicle off the road!! Maybe they are going bust. Definitely think twice before using them.

Dangerous Illegal parts not to drawing or specs
I order a large amount of Landrover stuff, and I know Britpart overall has a terrible reputation for quality, that means buying their brand parts needs a degree of Risk assessment. Some parts like panels are fine, but other parts have a variation of quality, and outcome if fitted.
Some Series U bolts we ordered recently had thread and nuts so far out of tolerance (both the wrong way) that they were wobble loose, and only using 50% of the actual effective thread pitch.
Fancy an axle detaching at speed?
There are BS/DIN/ISO/ECT standards for threads.
There are Landrover Drawings, that show material spec, threads, and material, ect, ect.
These are not there for fun, if a part does not comply to them, it is not actually legal for UK sale. DVSA even has a say in this.
Buying from China, India does not have to mean poorer quality, as long as you have UK quality control. In fact as a parts supplier/sourcer/importer/producer, it's a legal duty.
Britpart, please don't supply dangerous parts.

i bought some parts and ace bushes fro discovery 2, a lot off work to put the bushes on and after 500 km the bushes are band and i have the same noise again.

Very poor quality rubber
Britpart uses very poor quality cast rubber, which doesn't flex properly and breaks-up within a year. It's as if there is no quality control, and no two parts have the same consistency.
BTW: The only way to get the door seals to work is if you put a slit along the back - right kids!
Poor quality
bought a jump starter 6 years ago, all good did the job well on my TDI. Bought a replacement last year, looks similar but the quality is so poor I have bought a heavy-duty one from Machine Mart. jump leads are not interchangeable and the pivot pin is now plastic that falls to bits as soon as used,the old model had a steel pin. and not powerful enough to start the vehicle .avoid

Your electrical components are clearly made cheaply.
Two wiper motor products failed on fitting. Same part number from your main competitor works great.
I don’t know what quality control you have but it’s not working.

Update. Britpart replied quickly on the defensive I see. I did return the part to my dealer. They supplied another which blew immediately. I returned that and my dealer supplied me with a replacement part that was not Britpart. Guess what! It works!
How about you stop blaming everybody else for the problems you cause. The review below mine is a real eye opener into how you operate. If everything in that review is true (and I suspect it is), you’re a disgrace.
You don’t give a dam about your suppliers clearly and seem to want to blame them for your shoddy parts. How many components would you like to have supplied, wasting my time? I’m paying by the hour for garage work. Are you going to make up the cost?

Another vote for terrible attitude and arrogance
I worked at a retail level for this company.
If you are buying Britpart products from one the stockist that is supplied by this organisation it is really important to know that you are purely at the mercy of your retailer.
I can give quite a few examples of where I personally had to pick up the tab to ensure good customer service. The worst example of this occurred in November 2020 when I supplied a ride on toy to a customer. After a few months the battery started to fail. The customer had spent quite a lot of money decorating the vehicle and as such wanted a replacement battery. Obviously I activated the warranty straight away. After several emails and many days of trying to speak to someone, the customer liaison department ascertained that it was more hassle than it was worth to fix it, refunding the cost to me as the retailer. This was not what the customer wanted. Britpart were most unhelpful and would not put me in touch with their wholesaler. I personally tracked down the wholesaler and manufacturer, organised a replacement battery, ensuring the customer was happy and more importantly didn't lose the extra money they had spent on their childs CHRISTMAS present. This whole process ultimately cost me hours of time and the whole retail cost of the vehicle as I was incredibly embarrassed by Britparts can’t be bothered attitude. It was going to cost them money to put the situation right for the customer and as such they determined that they were going to do the bear minimum required by law.
Did Britpart technically do anything wrong? Legally no they did not but morally absolutely. Will they fix an easily resolvable problem to ensure good customer service, no they will not. As such if you buy from anywhere that is stocked by this company really make sure you are buying from a retailer that will ensure you are satisfied as a customer should a problem occur 6 months down the line. If you buy a part that you spend time and money fitting and painting, if it breaks they won't care only refunding their wholesale selling price. Who will pick up the additional garage bills if something goes wrong?
If you spend £5 on a part that ultimately destroys your engine or gearbox, will britpart cover the cost or will you be left at the mercy of your retailer?
At a retail level before you think about working with this company think about your long term goals and more importantly your reputation.
Three incidents stand out for me. The incident outlined above which cost me a great deal of money.
The second incident occurred when I did not receive a part I had ordered in my daily delivery. I had to wait several days while they checked stock and sent a replacement. If you are waiting for the part to do a job your options are wait for the stock take or pay Britpart again for a replacement part to be sent.
Finally unfortunately in 2021 we had to take a contractor to court which nearly destroyed our business. Where we worked with all of our suppliers and wholesalers Britpart just wanted the cold hard cash. There is a serious communication problem somewhere in the chain of command at Britpart but this was labeled as my misdoing not theirs. You have regional reps who I communicated with directly about our situation. The accounts department became very upset that I had not done that directly. They closed our account while we were attempting to get back on our feet due to nothing more than dislike for me personally or so the regional rep states. Who knows what the actual truth is. Its very difficult to tell who is telling the truth at this stage. Behaviour by some members of staff is nothing more than child like. The management team have little interest and do not reply to correspondence, with no interest in resolving issues.
In summary, there is no smoke without fire. Look at online forums and take the reviews on this site for what they are. The review below titled terrible attitude and arrogance unfortunately sums up this company. They seem unable to conduct business in a professional manner and they care little about you as a customer taking the word of one individual to be the gospel truth on all matters arising. For a company with such a poor reputation you really would think that the management team would at least investigate and return peoples calls but our rep advised that they had no communication with the management team while he was trying to resolve our problem. How can you investigate a problem without speaking to the people concerned?
Please avoid all blue box products and ask your retailer who their stockist is before purchase. They will have other options to purchase your products for you.
Unfortunately I’m out of characters to continue posting here. I could continue for several pages. In summary bad attitude, broken communication chains, terrible, uncaring management team.

Bought a kit to change the wiper motor and linkages for a Landrover. There was an issue with every component, most parts were manufactured so poorly that they didn’t fit without modification. Turned a relatively straightforward job into a nightmare. Never again.
