Buying from Big Motoring World Cannock has been one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had with a dealership. I part‑exchanged my previous car and was given £1300 — money that I later discovered had been used to add extras I never asked for, including Guard X which they cleverly stated the would chuck this in as a gesture of good will after making me wait four hours to actually pick the car up because they fumbled the finances. Not only did I not want it, but it clearly hasn’t even been applied. The car is covered in water marks and there’s absolutely no sign of any protective treatment.

To make matters worse, after just two months of ownership, my 71‑plate car has developed a major oil leak. The independent garage I took it to confirmed the leak has been there far longer than the time I’ve owned the vehicle, judging by the condition and spread of the oil. The repair requires the entire engine to be removed and will cost over £1,000. This is not what you expect from a supposedly “quality‑checked” car.

The salesmen made it very clear that they “just want your business,” and honestly, that’s exactly how it feels. They push extras, they mislead you about what you’re paying for, and they absolutely do not look after the cars they sell. Once they have your money, you’re on your own.

Avoid this place at all costs. Do not trust them with your part exchange, your money, or your next car.

Very disappointing experience overall.

I was given an estimated part exchange valuation in the region of £8k–£10k for my current car, which was one of the main reasons I paid a deposit and transfer fee to bring a nearly new 2025 Tesla Model 3 to the dealership.

When I arrived, the actual offer suddenly dropped to around £5k. What made this more frustrating was that staff at the branch themselves told me they did not understand why head office had originally provided such a significantly higher estimate, and that their system showed a completely different figure.

My vehicle’s mileage, exterior condition and mechanical condition had not changed, so the scale of the difference felt extremely misleading and completely changed the economics of the deal.

The vehicle condition was also not accurately represented online. There were several obvious scratches and cosmetic marks that were not visible at all in the advertisement photos. The car looked noticeably worse in person than it did online.

I was also concerned by the displayed range figure on the vehicle itself, which appeared to be significantly lower than what had been advertised for this nearly new vehicle.

To make matters worse, by the time I arrived it was already late in the evening and I did not even get a proper opportunity to test drive the car before being told that if I did not proceed immediately, the vehicle would be returned to the market. The next morning I was then informed that the car had already been sold to somebody else, despite my intention to return for a proper test drive.

Overall the entire experience felt rushed, pressured and lacking transparency. Very disappointing.

Very well organised group. The only negative I have is ensure the car you are buying doesn't already have a warranty like my Toyota Corolla hybrid did. I was spending a fair bit of money. Didn't realise it had warranty and paid for a 3 year extra warranty costing 2k. There is a 14 cooling off period for this so manage to get my money back. A genuine mistake? Apart from that a good experience. I love the car. Low mileage and good service history

Jamal was my Sales Rep, he was really friendly and personable, explained everything concisely for me to make the most educated decision while getting a great deal on my car.

Bought a car from them in a poor condition, unwilling to help Cannock branch.

Customer service was good, greeted well by all staff.

Proper pushy sales like old fashioned time share. Keep you sitting about and trying to find you a car any car? They hadn’t got what I wanted so I was not interested, then they push you to buy wheel insurance which we have had before and didn’t pay out also the coating extra which I had on a mini and they wouldn’t pay out on that also. You don’t get a warranty! It’s £500 for a 3 month warranty and to extend it to 12 months at a cost of £2000. What a rip off! Terrible way to treat and push customers. Awful company. Plus they offered me 8k for my car. I got £11,680 at a main dealer.

It seems very popular. But do yourselves a favour and don’t give them your details. I’ve been harassed this week with constant phone calls.

FYI - I got a car the same day. With a main dealer and 12 months warranty, better offer on my car. They’re just out to make money off people.

If I could give zero stars I would! Avoid this company at all costs. I bought a car from them recently, they supplied the wrong charge cable and after over three months they have completely dismissed my complaint. Constant mess around from their so called customer service which was awful and totally unprofessional. At first the issue with charging was not identified as they did not allow me to bring it into their so called “master technician” but told me to go to cupra which I did and they stated the issue was an incorrect charge cable which should have been supplied with the car. This cost me over £500 and motoring world offered me £99. After over three months of constant messing around by them and not being able to charge the car they decided that they were dismissing my complaint and they would not take any further action or even look into it further. Disgusting service from a rip off company with no regard to customers. All they tried to do is upsell everything, warranty etc which you can get way cheaper sourcing on line. I got a much better finance deal than they offered also. When I questioned that their so called 200 point check was not completed properly as they would have noticed that the car was not charging they just ignored my questions and disregarded my complaint and issue. Issues area still ongoing with the car including electrical faults and the battery life has been badly affected due to lack of charge for months
DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY WHO ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS LINING THEIR POCKETS AND TGEN FOBBING YOU OFF ONCE THE SALE IS COMPLETE. The quicker they suffer financially and hopefully go out of business the better….AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I did not buy a car from Motoring World but have just sold my Nissan Quashqai to them and that was a joy. I'm not 100% sure how I got onto them but they came as the best priced buyer on another site. I think the initial offer was £10500 but after speaking to them it went down to £9800 due to scratches etc (bear in mind the dealership offer £8000 then £8250 at a push against my new car and other sites quoted £8000 to £8500). I went through their process and agreed a pick up date for the car. They use Driive Me as a third party pick up and Andrew sent me messages and Driive sent me e-mails advising who my driver would be. Andrew was excellent and polite. He guided me through the process checked the car and payment was received and the car was handed over.
I would highly recommend this process provided you are realistic about your car.
Buying from Big Motoring world.
I didn't buy from Big as they didn't have the car I wanted after doing my research. I did wait to see if they were going to have one in stock but one came up at a Mercedes dealership instead. They are currently the cheapest car supermarket and because of that they do have their faults. To be honest when I have visited Cannock I didn't understand that I have to give them my details to look at the car stock but on the form you have to opt in to receive communications from them. They did actually contact me the first time but I think the caller realised I had opted out and put the phone down. When I have looked at cars I did find that the staff are not knowledgeable about the cars but as a customer if you are spending £1000's you need to do your research. I would not recommend that you pop in and buy the first car you see that takes your fancy as further down the line you will find that there's a better model eg the I4 BMW I looked at. If you test drive and there is an issue walk away. I did not find them to be hard sellers.

Not happy at all

I had a great experience in buying my first electric car. The whole process was very well organised and made so much better with the help of Neil the business manager.
I have already recommended my family to look at cars here.

Purchased a car on bank holiday Monday and was collecting on the Thursday afternoon from Cannock branch. on inspection of car it was very nice but very dirty and had not been cleaned sweet wrappings and dirty tissues stuffed down by seatbelt clips to name a few things and was assured it would have a valet for collection on Thursday .On arrival at the branch to collect my car I asked for a quick look before signing documents to find it had not been done apparently they have 7 people cleaning the cars before you collect I'm not sure what they actually do but they don't clean the cars when your paying £22000 for a car you at least expect it clean when you go to collect I'm then told it will take 15 minutes to clean .The fact that there are 4 sales team and 4 so called cleaners all crawling round in my new car trying to bodge it up to get another sale across the line doesn't really fill you with confidence of the branch it supposed to be exciting when getting a new car but this experience was the total opposite I declined the car and lost money paid for insurance plus still have to wait a week for my deposit back would not recommend these clowns and certainly don't sign anything until you check the car first
