Batteries + Bulbs really let me down
I have used Batteries + Bulbs as my sole outlet for batteries for as long as they have had the store in Pelham, AL. When my car with their 2 ½ year old battery wouldn’t start I returned to the store to have the battery tested. I was told that the battery checked out fine but that I should have my alternator and generator looked at. Thus I went to a local repair shop where I relayed the results of the Batteries + Bulbs testing and their advice about the alternator and generator. It turns out (after a series of expensive tests) that there was a bad cell in the battery and nothing wrong in the electrical system of the car. This should have been handled under warranty by Batteries + Bulbs rather than my having to spend extra time and money to get the correct diagnosis. The corporate response to my email about this issue was not helpful.
Great service
I needed a new I phone battery and they were able to change it out right there and only took 15 minutes. They were great! Would recommend Batteries Plus to anyone who need assistance. And the prices were very reasonable!

Incompetent and poor customer service
I live a half hour away from B&B in Marlborough and I purchased a new key fob for my car so that I could have 2 working keys. I ordered it. It came in. I gave them my existing key for reference and they programmed the new one for my car. All good except apparently they deprogrammed my existing key and caused not to work. I drove the car home with my new key but the next time I tried to drive it I used the old one and the car wouldn’t start. I didn’t realize that the old key could possibly be the problem. After all it has worked just fine for 10 years. I waited a while, started the car again and it worked so I took my car to the mechanic. I hadn’t noticed that I had used the other key this time. It was the end of the day so my mechanic gave me a loaner car to borrow while they figured out the problem. The next day they called and explained that the old key was no longer working so I went back and picked my car up. I called B&B to explain it to them and quite frankly to ask for some compensation for my time. In addition to the time I had already wasted I was going to have to go back to B&B, wait for them to fix the issue, and drive home. They were very defiant over the phone and told me they could not determine the cause of the issue until I brought the car in. When I asked what other possible explanation they had for the problem they had no response. Finally they told me that even if they determine that B&B is responsible for this mistake which caused me to waste a massive amount of my time they would not compensate me in any way, not even a 10% discount. I will not be using their services again.

I would give them a zero if I could. I bought an expensive, higher rated, battery ($237.00 worth) for my car in December of 2020. Fast forward to February 2021 and the sub zero weather hit. My new battery was dead as it gets. I jumped the thing and ran errands for the next few hours never turning the vehicle off for fear of not starting again. The last errand was back to the 135th Metcalf store where I purchased it. They "tested" it and said it was fine and refused to replace under warranty. Less than 60 days old! My advice, buy at Costco. My Son did and 16 months after purchasing it would not start. They replaced it on the spot with a brand new battery, no question. I knew I should have gone there instead! What this franchisee needs to learn is good customer service pays big , recurring dividends and makes for a loyal customer, for life. Poor customer service means for each event, that customer is going to tell multiple people about their experience. Bad news travels faster than good resulting in lost future revenue and customers No, not every unhappy customer will take the time to write a review like this one, but they will take the time to share their experiences with your business, many times over with many people. This is called word of mouth. I know I will. Bottom line- Go anywhere but Batteries Plus

Can't say anything about the whole franchise, but I am very satisfied with the service I got today at Woburn, MA location. These people are great!
Don't bother placing an order for…, updated...
Don't bother placing an order for anything they are going to bring in from another store. For the second time, I placed an order for an out of stock item. And for the second time, our of two, they don't seem to be able to get the item into their store. Pretty worthless employees as a company. It takes months for them to actually make it happen, and only with you calling again, and again.
After sending a message through Facebook to the national level, I finally received a call from a fairly high up, ranking customer service person, who understood that the store, the manager, the employees were falling short. Heads rolled, employees were retrained, the issue was resolved, and kudos to Batteries Plus, for getting me my bulbs, and improving their system.
I bought an X2 Power battery for my car…
I bought an X2 Power battery for my car from Batteries Plus and was offered a $30 mail in rebate. They requested proof of purchase so I included a photocopy of the receipt. They wrote and said they won't honor the rebate unless I send in the original receipt. The store said for me to keep that original receipt for warranty purposes. Considering the receipt was from one of their stores, I can't believe they had no way of verifying it. I have bought all my batteries from them for over 25 years. never again.
Xtreme AGM motorcycle battery
Purchased a battery on 11/1/19 for my bike and it quickly lost power causing me to be jump started repeatedly. This is an XTREME AGM 14BS Powersport. I took it back twice and they would not replace it.I do not know if it is just that particular battery or that the line in general has this deficit.

We ordered a 2020 jeep wrangler key
We ordered a 2020 jeep wrangler key. They have cut it wrong twice and now have broken our only key fob. It will not start the jeep and the buttons On the fob do not work. Stay away from them making keys. Terrible customer service.

Do not buy batteries for car, truck or boat , been ripped off 3 times, every battery I buy from here dies in 2 years or less i amDone using batteries and bulbs. And they never warrantee anything for me
Battery Warranty
Battery Warranty - don't bother buying a car battery here. If it goes dead before the two year warranty they will find a way to NOT honor their warranty. Advanced Auto is the best place...they will replace the battery if it dies before the three year warranty!
Great customer service
Car wouldn't start on a cold winter day (had warnings, knew it was the battery). While letting the car idle, I found Batteries Plus and ordered online. Got a confirmation it was ready late that day and called to ask if I needed an appointment (no). Went in and they swapped out my old corroded battery. They even recommended (and helped with) cleaning the old corroded terminal before installing the new one. I was able to do work the whole time. Super fast, great customer service. Thanks Troy!
Very Bad experience
I ordered a Duracell 24F battery online. Got an email with 30 minutes saying the battery was available for pick up at Store #159. At the store they tell me that the battery is out of stock and try to sell me another battery, which I declined. They tell me that this battery is available in #161 store and they call up #161 store and place an order for me.
I drive 10 miles to store #161, to hear the same story. At store #161 they tell me Duracell 24F is not available and try to sell me some All season battery for the same price.
It looks like the stores are trying to scam people in to buying some cheap batteries when you buy Duracell battery online
Very helpful
Stopped in to see if they could help with my iPad screen and they were more than willing to help me. My screen protector is what was broken the helped me put my iPad in my new case they were very nice and helpful. This is the second time I’ve been there and both times they helped me out
Horrible Service
I bought three Bell & Howell Triburst light @$29.99 each and they were supposed to last for at least five years per the warranty. The Batteries + Bulbs telephone customer service told me to take the back to the store for an exchange and the clerk at the store told me that I would have to deal directly with the manufacturer. They can't even support the products they sell. I'm out $100.00 because the manufacturer won't return my calls. My best advice is "RUN FOREST RUN" as hard as you can and please don't waste your time with these people.
The manager would not come out of his office to speak to me.

I went in to the North Main st location to get my lcd iPhone Screen fixed because it had green lines showing, when I picked the phone up it still was broken well no more green lines only the SCREEN IS NOW YELLOW!!! I paid $200 for a brand new clear screen not a dingy yellow filter like screen! I am highly upset! I am a model With a clothing business having a clear screen is really important! I am having to put off my work for Batteriesplus mishap!!! They told me there was nothing they could do! Even with the warranty not cool
BATTERY WARRANTY SCAM!
I had bought a car battery that was one month shy of one-year-old and had failed with a shorted cell.
They checked it with a volt meter and said since it registered less than 10 volts they could not replace it under warranty.
The counter girl could not explain other than "it is company policy".
But nowhere in their company policy is this BS listed.
I had to go elsewhere and buy a new battery.
I will never buy from them again and hope others never will.
