... Relative bought me a pair of spare keys for my car from some random site ( blanks but had a long slit cut in them already )
My guess is those two keys were already programmed to my/current ignition tumbler ( that's the actual lock type part you put your key into to crank most cars ) because I got lucky...the lady at Batteries Plus Bulbs told me earlier today when she properly cut them that they didn't need to be programmed ( otherwise that would have been an additional 100 bucks plus tax per key...still lower costing than Hyundai dealership on Lakeland Dr aka hwy 25 in Flowood Ms )
Both keys unlock the hatch and my door ( only one key hole in the driver side door on this year make and model of car...odd *shrugs* where most cars have key lock on both driver and passenger front doors ) and crank it every time.
total cost = $ Around 24 bucks. I'm good with that.
GJ Batteries Plus Bulbs. No wiggling around the key needed to plug into the ignition tumbler as well as same for unlocking car and hatch ( unlike the younger fello at Ace Hardware in Pearl ms who made my two copies of my house key )

Very bad warranty program
Was traveling in San Antonio Texas and needed a battery in my Chevy Tahoe. The store at Loop 1604 and Redland was very good at accomodating me and installing a new battery. I got the best AGM battery they had at a cost of $403 with taxes. However my problems began when the new battery would go dead in my vehicle. When I returned to Wisconsin, I went to my nearest Bplus store in Janesville. They said the battery tested fine and said it was an issue with my vehicle. I took my Tahoe into my local Chevy dealer and had it put on diagnostics at a cost of $92. They showed that everything was fine on the vehicle regarding the alternator and charging system etc. They showed on two different testing instruments that the battery had a bad cell. They installed a new GM battery at a cost of $201 plus tax. They did not have an AGM battery available. I needed my vehicle to start reliably. The vehicle has started and performed perfectly since then. I took the defective AGM battery to the Janesville, WI store and requested a refund. They would not refund because they said the battery tested ok. So I submitted a claim to Batteries Plus corporate and really really got the run around on why they could not refund the defective AGM battery. After 3 rejections they finally agreed to reimburse me the $201 I paid for the GM battery. NOT the original purchase price of the DEFECTIVE AGM battery. So I have spent $500 and made two trips to my Chevy dealer and two 45 min. trips to the Bplus store in Janesville. Offering me $201 is an insult. Batteries Plus has a BAD warranty program and does not stand behind their products. Do NOT purchase an auto battery from them!
Purchased a car battery from batteries…
Purchased a car battery from batteries plus, on the phone they said they will install the battery but when I got there and they saw I was driving in Volkswagen they said they don’t do Volkswagen’s. It’s a foreign car. I guess they don’t have a 10 mm wrench. It wasn’t any harder to change than any battery I’ve done a domestic car and I’m 68 years old so I’ve had quite a few cars. I was charged $10 for the core fee, which was refundable what I returned with the old battery. But when I showed up with the old battery, they said it would take five business days to refund a lousy $10. You know it didn’t take five days to charge my debit card when I bought the battery, that they were able to do instantly but to give me back $10 they charge me that day would take them five businessdays. WTF the battery is sitting right in the floor their store. I don’t know why I just couldn’t be refunded by 10 bucks right there and then. but no just another business that tries to make money off of your money by hanging onto it as long as possible that’s one of the worst business practices I’ve seen more and more crappy organizations going to these days. This company is a joke.

Purchased a new battery for my phone and it was still overheating and not holding a charge. Staff was pleasant but I would still not shop here again due to poor merchandise sold.
Phone screen replacment
Dropped my phone off for a screen replacement. Was told to pick it up in 2 hours. When my phone was finally repaired 4 hours later I demanded a discount for the delay. The owner told me he would keep my phone or maybe even re-install the cracked screen if I didn't pay in full. So I paid him to get my phone back. He then banned me from his store for life after I informed him of the unflattering review that would be published. I, obviously, will not be going back (ever).
Fiasco
I ordered a replacement key fob for my car on 12/29/25. I was told 10 days to two weeks. It ended up being 32 days. Then, when we went in, they were unable to program it and asked me to come back when the “expert” was in. I went back and the “expert” struggled, but was able to program it. Next, the “expert” cut the emergency key wrong and told me that she would order a new key and it would be 2 more weeks. Next, I waited 15 days and hadn’t heard anything, so I called and was told that the key had never been ordered and that he would order it and it would be another 2 weeks. Next, we went back once it arrived and the guy couldn’t cut it and told us we needed to come back in 2 days when the “expert” was in. I went back and she said they couldn’t do it and I would have to go to a locksmith to get it cut. I asked for a recommendation but, she didn’t have one. She said it should only be about $20. It was $44. This ended up taking over 2 months 10 days and was a total fiasco. These people need to make some changes!
Parker @ Mt. Juliet location
I've been going to Batteries+ in Mt. Juliet, TN for years, and have always had a good experience.
I'm posting this review based on my visit today. I needed items that required technical expertise. I was blessed to meet Parker and immediately knew I was in good hands. He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Parker answered all my questions and was very patient with me! He's another reason I remain a loyal customer.

So I bought a battery at Batteries + on Burnet Road in Austin. lasted 18 months of the 4 year warranty, dead as a mackerel. I took it in for prorated $$. No they wanted to give me a new battery and I don't want their battery. I have already replaced it because they had to keep it 48 hours to prove it was bad....how was I to get to work?? No store credit no options. Dont buy from here...100 dollar battery isn't worth a bad reputation!
October 2025 I purchased a battery from…
October 2025 I purchased a battery from Batteries Plus location in Schaumburg IL. and on December 2025 the battery died, I have been back and forth with the battery and the manager is the worst with customer service.
I contacted the Batteries Plus corporate customer 3 times with a lack of any response. I have posted the situation and Batteries Plus finally responded that they will try to do better. I also have a open formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and it in the process of investigation.
Batteries Plus Schaumburg at this time has had my battery for a month. The local manager claimed he has had no knowledge of my problems. However his employees claimed that they have talked in detail of the issue with him.
The manager has washed his hands not caring to address this customer issue.
Also, I found through conversation the Schaumburg store does not explain the battery warranty, almost hiding it until something happens. Then when a problem occurs they do not want to discuss the situation with the customer.
From the the corporate customer desk, I found that buying from a non-corporate store the local manager has all the power. Quoting the service desk, to a point of not wanting to discuss the warranty they should have presented at the day of purchase.
This is a terrible situation and I highly recommend not making any purchases from the Schaumburg IL. store.
Thank you

Don't buy a battery from Batteries Plus unless you want to throw away your money!!!!
On Monday, 12/15/25, I purchased two button batteries.
When I got them home, I tested them on my battery tester
and with a multimeter. One didn't have enough charge to do
anything. The other had slightly more. I called the store on
Wednesday, 12/17/25, and asked if I could exchange or if I
could bring it in and have them test them for me. I was told
that they could "try" to test them but all they would see was
if it had power not how much charge was present. I was told
that I could not exchange them because the items have to
be unopened for an exchange. How am I supposed to test
or see if a battery works without opening the package?
I'm pretty sure that someone from Batteries Plus will respond by stating the policy they have, but here's the thing - this policy removes Batteries Plus and it representatives from any responsibility that the item they distribute in exchange for financial gain actually works.
Batteries Plus is in the business of selling batteries. I purchased the batteries with the expectation that they would work. When you have paid for that device with the expectation that it
will perform as expected, particularly when used for its
specific intent, the purchaser should be compensated when is fails.
In other words, I paid for two batteries. Those batteries did not
work from the time I purchased them. Since they did not
function as promised, I would like a refund or at minimum to
be given an exchange. Unfortunately, I am not confident in
that any battery I get from Batteries Plus would work.
Bottom line, buyer be ware. If I could give a negative amount of stars, I would.
I brought a 2-year-old battery (with a…
I brought a 2-year-old battery (with a 4-year warranty) back to the Mooresville location after removing it from my truck and driving 30 miles to the store. I was told their test would take 24 hours, leaving me with no choice but to buy a new $270 battery. I was also warned the new one couldn’t be returned if installed, putting me in a no-win situation.
To avoid losing the return option, I borrowed a car overnight while I waited for the results. When I called the next morning, I was told the test was never done because they “have to remove batteries from chargers overnight.” Instead of acknowledging the misinformation, I was given excuses and dismissive responses. When I expressed concern about being misled, the employee told me he “resented the insinuation” and hung up on me.
This was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional customer service experiences I’ve ever had.
This has been the worst warranty…
This has been the worst warranty experience I have ever had with any retailer. I purchased a vehicle battery from this Batteries Plus location in July 2024 with a 2-year warranty. On Sunday, November 30, I returned to the store because the battery had completely failed, it would not hold a charge overnight under normal use.
I received a call back two days later on 12/2/2025, even though I was told someone would call me on 12/1/2025. Instead of honoring the warranty, the store refused to replace the battery because it measured "below 10 volts." That excuse makes absolutely no sense. A battery dropping below proper voltage is the symptom of the failure, not a reason to deny a warranty. That is literally what a warranty is supposed to cover.
They then charged the battery for 24 hours to temporarily raise the voltage and attempted to hand it back to me as if that resolved the issue. A battery that cannot hold a charge is defective, period. Any trained battery technician knows this.
I even asked, "Are customers supposed to walk around carrying voltmeters to make sure their battery is acceptable before bringing it in for warranty?" No one mentioned that when I purchased it, because such a requirement does not exist. It appears this location simply invented a rule to avoid honoring a valid claim.
What makes this even worse is that an employee quietly admitted that corporate in Easley WOULD honor the warranty, which means the store knows the denial was improper. That strongly suggests the problem isn’t corporate policy, it’s this location refusing to process warranty replacements.
I left the defective battery at the store and will be pursuing the replacement directly through corporate, since even their own staff acknowledges the store mishandled it.
Customers should not be denied valid warranty coverage based on arbitrary conditions that contradict basic battery diagnostics. This store needs serious attention from upper management.
Batteriesplus at Barker Cypress TX is the worst place to shop.
This is the worst place to shop. I took my Samsung S3 in for a battery replacement, and I’m not sure what they did, but after charging, the screen went black. Now they want to charge me for the screen repair. My phone was working fine even with a swollen battery. It seems something happened while they were installing the new battery, which broke my phone. I told that incompetent technician to keep the phone, as it’s not worth spending an extra $200 on the screen. My advice: please stop visiting this shop.
LIED TO 3 TIMES!
Went for a CR2 battery for a laser. I told the salesman that I wanted the best battery. He said, all batteries all same. LIE 1. I said, I disagree. With an attitude, he had a spiel about brands and led me to the store brand, Nuon. Then I asked if they had a charger for CR2, and he said CR2 are not rechargeable. LIE 2. I told him have one, then he said they won't work. LIE 3. The salesman was very rude to me when I saw them online, He treated like I was an idiot. I reported them to the BBB. If you want honest help, go some else place!

I shy'd away at first when looking for someone to fix my son's Samsung phone screen and then months I inquired about battery issues for my grandsons ride on truck. Well Mark and his team at Batteries Plus in Redding are my go to battery vendor now, no more online. They repaired the not working Samsung phone, its screen replaced among other improvements while they had it open in 2 hours. In addition helped me with 2 on line toy truck batteries that failed after 3 months, testing and evaluation twice and got me set up with new batteries and a 1 year warranty. My son, grandson and I are very thankful.
Satisfied Customer
They do not honor warranties
Purchased a new Duracell 30LA battery for my 2017 Harley Davidson Road Glide on 1/23/2024 from the Ft Myers FL store. On 10/15/2025 I returned it because it no longer had the cranking amps under load to properly start my bike. This particular battery carries a 2 YEAR FULL REPLACEMENT WARRANTY. I have purchased many of these same batteries in the past for my Harleys over the years and never had a problem until now. Chad, the guy at the counter load tested my fully charged battery and it tested at 13.1 volts and under load it tested at 313 cranking amps. This is a 400 cca rated battery. That's 87 cranking amps short of rated capacity. At that point Chad refused to honor the replacement warranty further stating that loss in capacity needed to be greater than 20%. I'm not really sure where Chad got his math education but 20% loss is still 320 amps and mine tested 313 amps. That's not enough to start a Harley Big Twin so essentially I now I have a $219 completely worthless battery that is ironically still under warranty. Apparently you don't get what you pay for at Batteries Plus anymore.
On October 8
On October 8, 2025, I visited Batteries Plus in Longmont to have my keyless remote programmed and to obtain an extra key for my 2021 Jeep Compass.
Before starting the service, the employee assisting me informed me that I would need to sign a form stating that if the programming did not work, I would still be responsible for a $90 service fee. He asked me to sign the form and make the payment before beginning the work
Since I did not have my glasses with me, he filled out the paperwork on my behalf. After about 12 minutes, he told me that it was difficult to program and that he could not get it to work. It appeared that he did not even attempt to program the key properly, and he refused to refund my money.
I believe I was scammed by this store. I feel very strongly that this was an unfair and possibly predatory practice, especially targeting elderly customers. I plan to report this incident to the Consumer Protection Agency, as this seems to be another
The salesman
The salesman, think his name was Alex was the most miserable person I’ve ever met, never smiled, did not interact.
What ever happened to customer service.
Voided battery warranty
TLDR: they voided my battery warranty on my $400 agm x2 car battery: I bought this battery because of the 4 year warranty, and solid reviews. So once it went bad, put a charger on the battery first (without the truck connected) before I lugged the 50lb thing up to the store. The charger showed the battery fully charged after about 7 hours. The next day in the afternoon I hooked the charger back up to see if it still had a charge. The battery was dead. So when I took it up to the store, they told me that my warranty is void because the battery was under 10volts. Well YEAH! It’s not taking a charge! The employees could not explain anything and just kept saying they won’t warranty it. Now I’m reading that batteries plus thinks i mistreated the battery in some way to cause this? WTF? I’ll never shop there again and they don’t care but my off-road community does does so I can hurt their profits that way.
