One of the worse people to deal with when you need the help! Really they should all b sacked and start fresh within the council but it seems to be a thing where they actually hire people to tick the boxes and pass the paper around without actually getting the issue sorted...if u don't believe me check reviews above or below lol

My husband and I have had no hot water overheating for a month now, 2 dip sticks came on monday to see if the tanks had filled up in the loft of which we cannot access, one held the ladder then on his phone the other
dip came in said he thinks it might be the cool or the boiler and all he kept going on about the bloody wiring said a gas man would be here on Tuesday to check the boiler, waited in all day no one turned up it's because we own our flat my husband getting over a heart attack me over 70 yrs old PLEASE DONT ASK THE BARNET COUNCIL to come out to do anything a do it yourself as the prats don't do anything

Barnet website won't let you log on to make comment on Edgware Town development, the development itself an utter disgrace which thousands have objected too, Labour ruining towns and surrounding greenbelt, well don't have to log in to vote REFORM UK next year. Goodbye Labour May 2026.

Barnet Council have unlawfully tickets residents in Hill close stating it is part of the CPZ area. But our street does NOT have any signage at the entrance as stated by the GOV guidelines they state its been enforced since April 2023 but NOT one resident has ever got a ticket up until a few weeks ago. So someone in the council has force the ticket wardens to come round & ticket residents unlawfully. The only signage that is stated on the government website for our road is No Waiting HGV's & Buses mid-8am 6.30pm -midnight but the Council Unlawfully again allows there Bin trucks to wake up residents to which most are elderly residents at 6.20am - 6.45am outrageous conduct of the council

I stop my car to get a greegs for a couple of minutes, ive paid the parking, but i didnt notice was a motorcicle bay. The paint on the floor wasnt visible, and the sign its the size of a credit card, no excuses for me.
Ive cought the guy printing a PCN, explain to him whats happen. He didnt care. I wasnt gonna be there for more tham 3 minutes. But thats how things working in London boroughs. £130 for a small mistake. This city its gone; Its just about the money, not the people, those companies should close down. This is a cancer for the people.

Staff willingingly commit perjury, despite requests for investigation it's all swept under the carpet, medical professionals requesting support through their services are ignored repeatedly.

social worker is terrible in Barnet ,they don't really answer to complain , and manipulative corrupt bulling.

As bad as Brent and Haringey. Litter and flytipping is rife. Some things are left for years let alone months or weeks. Awful.

Bad council. I thought was better. They are discriminatory and don't assess a person individual circumstances when needing help. Awful.
The Council tax team don't bother replying to my emails with my updated home address, but charge me the money via direct debit. They probably sleep during their work as they work from home some days.

I called to pay off some rent arrears and had an extremely rude and disrespectful woman called felicia talk to me like an errant child and when i remarked on it not being her place to talk to me with such rudeness and disrespect she hung up on me customer service sucks phone manners and customer care score less than zero !!!!!!

How should I begin this article, and how should I evaluate Barnet Council regarding Colindale, particularly Colindale station and its refurbishment?
Finding the right words proves challenging, largely due to the inadequate strategy employed during the past six months of underground service interruptions.
From the outset, everything has gone wrong.
The replacement buses have been unregulated and ineffective, running inconsistently and often overcrowded, with no service available on weekends.
The bus stop at Hendon Central Station sees around fifty people each night waiting in the rain, desperate for a bus.
The 186-bus route is not a viable alternative, as it suffers from route and driver issues, leading to waits of up to thirty minutes without any transport.
To make matters worse, the numerous traffic lights along Colindale Avenue, already poorly designed and planned, cause significant delays during peak hours.
Many traffic lights operate without a clear purpose, even when no roadwork occurs. Additionally, the timeline for the refurbishment work continues to be delayed, with no indication of when it will be completed.
The closure of Route 204 bus stops in front of the station adds to the confusion, while Route 125 stops remain open, even though there is no logical distinction between the two.
In short, this series of nonsensical decisions is infuriating, especially considering taxpayers are financing this mess.

Awful council came to my house threatened me told me I wasn’t entitled to my discounted single person rate even after they came in my house and looked in every room ……… saw empty house but said someone else had mail to my house therefore I could not be living alone and stuck me with a huge bill and said they will prosecute me for fraud !

I have enjoyed working with Barnet Council especially their public service workers in the Barnet Homes repairs team, Mental Health Social Workers, dust carts, town centre (place), food growing, libraries, public health, planning, community safety, parking, catering, democratic services, electoral services, street scene, parks, green spaces, councillors, the mayor, security, events, as well as their 3 CEOs and many directors.
Considering how badly they are paid, they have provided excellent services.

I got a rather threatening email saying I blocked the gutter outside my house thus created an issue to the whole street. I had to spend money of my own to sort this out only to find out the gutter is not MINE, belongs too the council and it was blocked because ot the PEBBLES that rolled in from heavy rains and leaves as well. They are VILE. Also, I was late with my coubcil tax ( which is £220 pcm for a tiny property)
they sent me the most awful threatening letters ever. I am someone hat always pays on time and never missed a payment this was few days late only. I feel sorry for vulnerable families under this council. It is scary.

Corruption in the first degree they accused me of being in prison but will not show me proof evidence that they’ve supposedly received from the DWP. They stopped my housing benefits unlawfully without visiting my property to see whether I’m living there or in prison. I have never committed any crime nor ever been in prison, The housing officer who stopped my housing benefits will not reply to my email nor show me proof evidence he’s been given about me being in prison.

Well done East Finchley Councillors and Barnet Council! They got horrible graffiti removed almost instantly from the lovely new direction sign on the Causeway behind the station and also from the Cherry Tree Wood nature information board. That’s the way to defeat these graffiti vandals!

Barnet Council are an absolute joke.
Unfortunately, this isn't funny as they continue to betray its residents with impunity.
They seem to have a deliberate strategy to make everything as difficult as possible, probably to put people off from getting anything resolved or complaining. They do this by:
- not responding to emails or keeping you waiting for weeks on end for a reply
- a very poor website that lacks important information or it is hidden
- no phone numbers for some departments
- unpleasant, unhelpful and obstructive representatives
- useless customer services
and worst of all:
- never actually doing anything at all to resolve a problem.
Nothing. Ever.
I have tried complaining and all that happens is you receive an acknowledgement and then you either don't hear anything back, the complaint mysteriously goes missing or, if it does actually get addressed by a manager, it simply gets totally dismissed - every single time, regardless of what the issue is.
I had a road safety concern ignored for weeks on end which is totally reckless and irresponsible.
They are not just totally incompetent, they seem to be deliberately unhelpful/difficult and nobody in authority ever challenges them. No idea how they are allowed to get away with it.
Residents deserve better than this and we should not have to put up with being treated with such contempt any longer.

Barnet Council - Masters of Recycling Promises, Not Collections!

If you're ever in need of empty promises and unfulfilled commitments, look no further than Barnet Council! For over seven long weeks, I've been waiting for them to collect my recycling. I’ve called them religiously, twice a week for the past six weeks, and every single time, they give me the same tired assurance: “It’ll be collected soon.” Spoiler alert: It never is.

In fact, at this point, my recycling bins have become an integral part of the local ecosystem, providing shelter for wildlife, growing suspiciously vibrant plant life, and possibly becoming their own borough. Who knows?

I've escalated the issue to management, who seem to have their PhDs in creative excuse-making. Every promise they make seems to vanish into thin air faster than my faith in this council's ability to do, well... anything. They’re so good at dodging responsibility that I’m beginning to think they should train for the Olympics.

What’s even more infuriating is that while they can’t manage to collect a few bins of recycling, they have no problem increasing council tax. It's almost impressive how the price goes up while the service goes down. It's like paying extra for a meal and being served an empty plate – except, in this case, the plate is still full of last month’s bottles and cardboard.

And let’s not forget the time wasted on the phone. Over 2 hours a week for the last 5 weeks. That’s 10 hours of my life I'll never get back, lost to elevator music and empty reassurances. At this rate, I’ll have spent more time on the phone with Barnet Council than I have with my own family.

So, if you’re a fan of Kafka-esque bureaucracy and growing piles of recyclables, Barnet Council is the one for you. Just don’t expect them to collect anything other than your money.

Long waiting time for someone to answer your phone. As usual excuse " sorry sorry " but nothing to improve it.
