Slight issue where one screw was faulty, however a quick call got this resolved quickly.

We bought five Kanto bar stools from Atlantic Shopping in July 2022. After around three years the faux leather started cracking and peeling, so I contacted Atlantic and sent them numerous photographs showing the condition.

At the time I was told this kind of damage was usually caused by something regularly coming into contact with the material, with stronger cleaning products given as an example. We explained that we have never used anything harsh on them. At most they have been wiped with warm water and a small amount of washing-up liquid.

A year on and they are now in an absolute mess. Every single stool is cracking and peeling, with the outer covering coming away badly in numerous places. I have sent Atlantic further photographs showing just how much worse they have become.

I went back to Atlantic because the deterioration had progressed so much. Their response was basically that the stools are outside their 12-month warranty, so they will not replace or repair them.

They have since suggested the damage could potentially be caused by moisture, sunlight or accidental damage such as hitting a hard surface, while also saying they cannot actually comment on how the stools are used in our home.

I could understand accidental damage to one stool, but all five are deteriorating in essentially the same way. These are simply kitchen stools that have had normal domestic use.

I fully appreciate furniture will show signs of wear over time, but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect five fairly expensive stools to last better than this.

What has disappointed me just as much as the quality is the customer service. When I first raised the issue it felt like the blame was immediately pushed back onto how we may have cleaned them. Now they have deteriorated far further, the response is simply that they are outside a 12-month warranty.

I gave Atlantic the opportunity to reconsider the issue and asked for it to be escalated to management. Their final response was that they were unable to assist any further.

Very disappointing product durability and equally disappointing after-sales service. I certainly wouldn't buy from Atlantic Shopping again.
