I thought I'd try an order from American eagle because it kept coming up in my searches and they had a few bits on sale. It took a while to arrive so I checked the reviews which I maybe should have done before ordering because they weren't very good and lots of people had issues. I decided to email them to see when my order will arrive and they confirmed it was about to be posted. The items arrived today and they are all really nice. I haven't returned anything so I don't know what their returns are like.

Refused to refund for missing items
I've been ordering from AE for many years. I received my order last week, but there was an item missing. I contacted customer service and they indicated that they cannot refund or reship the missing item. In other words, they are not responsible if there are issues with the shipment. I indicated that the issue was not with the shipping, but that the item was not placed in the package and therefore, they are responsible. Had to argue with a supervisor, who finally refunded the missing item but mentioned that it was an exception and that they wouldn't do it if it occured again. If you don't want to risk paying for items you won't receive, I'd recommend not ordering online from AE.

Ordered a pair of jeans from the American Eagle EU website. After a week of waiting the item has still not been shipped. Contacted customer service and was told that my item would arrive within a few days. Today I got an email stating that my order has been cancelled and that the item is not available anymore?? Really disappointing since I was able to order from the website and essentially paying for something that doesn’t exist. Read a couple of other reviews from people saying that they haven’t gotten their money back, so now I’m terrified:((

Habe zum ersten Mal bei American Eagle bestellt. Einen Teil der Kleider wollte ich zurücksenden. Leider konnte ich keine Rücksendeetikette erstellen, da die Schweiz in der Länderauswahl fehlte. Der Kundendienst bot mir an, mir manuell eine Rücksendeetikette zu erstellen, wenn ich ihm mitteile, welche Kleidungsstücke ich retournieren möchte.
Nach meiner Antwort habe ich nichts mehr gehört und meine weiteren Nachrichten wurden ignoriert. Das war eine sehr teure und unschöne Erfahrung.
Ich werde nichts mehr bei American Eagle bestellen!

Sent me the wrong item, then instead of sending the correct item immediately, they insisted that I had to return the wrong item first, wait for the refund then place a new order.
When I went on the returns page, it doesn't recognise my order number (I copy & pasted it from my email confirmation so it's 100% correct).
Return still not processed. Unlikely to get money back or correct item. Complete waste of time.
Horrible Experience!
I've worn American Eagle jeans for years, but this is not the same American Eagle that used to be in shopping malls. I ordered jeans online and received some strange stretch pants. I contacted customer service and the best they could do is give me a QR code to send the incorrect order back. Of which I now have to drive 15 miles and wait 5-7 business days for a refund. Do NOT order from these crooks, as they are better off going out of business.
Lying staff in the outlet store
Went to the outlet store in Jersey Shore Premium Outlets, picked out a sweater from the sale rack that clearly said '70% off', there were multiple of the same sweater on the rack, and prices were listed eg. $50 now $15.
I took it to the cashier and the discount didn't automatically come up so I mentioned it was from the 70% off rack, she called across her colleague who made up some BS about the rack being 'web exclusives' (lol) and told me that everything in the store was 'up to' 70% off.
I said that the sign on this sale rack does not say 'up to 70% off' it says '70% off' on a single circular rack with prices clearly marked. And I have no idea what she was talking about with the web exclusive stuff.
She rudely argued back and left me frustrated and embarrassed, awful service, glad I didn't end up buying it now as I wouldn't want to be seen dead wearing this garbage anymore.
I'm from the UK and this sort of stuff would not fly over here.

Last week I ordered two pairs of jeans from AEO Eur. They quickly sent me the package. The package slip included the jeans. Inside the package were 2 men's trousers and a pair of gloves. I immediately contacted customer service. It's not easy and quick with AEO. Customer service is only available via email. So, I have to wait. I received a ticket number. So, I wait. I sent a photo. It was a no-brainer. AEO's response is that if I return the package properly and the wrongly sent items are returned in good condition, I will get my money back. So, I wait. Oh, and after much insistence, I get free shipping on my next order. Free above 100 anyway. Very poor service. Not even worth 1 star, really.

Consistently good experiences
I’m surprised how many negative reviews there are for AE, especially as many of the issues mentioned are due to the delivery service. I’ve ordered clothing online from AE several times over the past few years, and have had a good experience each time. Returns were very easy, and my refunds were processed quickly both times. I live in the Rockies in CO and am hours from an AE store, so I’m glad I can order online with confidence.

Ordered in Jan. Missed delivery as I wasn't home. Redirected parcel to local post office, never got the email that it is ready for collection. Was told by Royal Mail (UK) items are returned to sender after 14 days. Contacted AE customer services, Denise couldn't find the package, 'escalated to the department for further investigation' and will get back to me in '3-5 business days'. It's almost been 2 months since paying, never received any updates, parcels or refund. Still waiting. Denise has stopped replying to emails. Lost too much money and time on this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Poor management and uninviting atmosphere
I walked into the Deer Park Outlet Store 02236 between 5:25pm and finished by 5:45pm. As I began looking through the racks to purchase items I was met by the first employee to whom asked my 13yr old son and I if we needed help as she bypassed. However, I continued to shop and picked up two tee shirts than headed to the counter to purchase. I'm 3rd in line at checkout. As I stood there waiting I noticed the manager Louis walking out the employee entrance with a young man to whom walked straight to me. The young man immediately asked if he can remove my censors (I declined) and I politely asked why aren't you asking the people in front of me with loads of clothes on their arms? He stood by in confusion and I'm positive Louis was speaking to him in his ear. However, I proceeded to wait my turn to make the purchase. Once again to engage in such a non-inviting atmosphere under Louis management is super uncomfortable. I'm being harrassed and discriminated against at this point by Louis and it needs to stop. I'm continuing to feel targeted when going into this establishment and have the right to spend my money wherever I choose without feeling targeted by Louis and his staff. While at the counter I noticed Louis and the your man by the employee entrance chuckling. Louis shouldn't be giving power to dictate where one (myself) can or cannot shop. I will continue to shop where I choose to. I documented yesterday's encounter and will continue to shop there and document every visits of Louis continuing to discriminate against me and harass me until I have enough evidence to file suit against this establishment if Louis behavior continues

De broeken zijn prima, maar de klantenservice en het retourneren zijn waardeloos. Ik wacht al ruim drie weken op een bevestiging van mijn retourzending en teruggave van het resterende bedrag. De klantenservice verwijst slechts naar de FAQ en vraagt om handmatig nogmaals alle gegevens te mailen die ook al in het retourportaal zijn ingevuld. Gedaan, maar daarna geen reactie van de klantenservice meer ontvangen.

Was für ein Saftladen. Das Management ist hier wohl nur noch asozial. Lieferungen nach Deutschland wurden abgeschafft, Kontakt hat man nur noch mit schlechter KI und bekommt immer wieder die gleiche falsche Antwort. Nach vielen Jahren als Kunde habe ich mich entschieden, hier nichts mehr zu kaufen. Die europäischen Webshops haben ein unsäglich schlechtes Sortiment. Also ich würde so ein Management einfach feuern…
