Returned items 10th May because of very poor quality ( see through material on leggings) today is 29th May, so in 19 days I had zero communication from AE. No refund, no email in regards whether my return has been delivered or not. So I have lost my money and have no product!

If I could give one zero, I would. I will never again buy from this retailer. I tried to return today items to the store. However, CSR requested to show Apple Wallet ?! I told her I paid through PayPal and I have cards connected to my PayPal not Apple Wallet. I showed her payment information and all the details. However, she said and her manager said they could not accept return because I do not have an original card. I said I paid through PayPal and had showed everything. Unprofessional, rude and arrogant CSRs. Horrible experience
Horrible Return Experience
I performed a return via their return portal, making sure to elect to receive a refund back to my payment type. However, once the refund was processed, they decided to refund my purchase with store credit. I have no use for store credit. I have corresponded with their customer service department and they are insisting that I must keep the store credit. I am going to file a chargeback with my bank.
Complete shambles of a business
I've bought AE jeans in store in the US, and generally happy with the fit/product. I live in the UK, ordered a pair of jeans here ---- TERRIBLE experience. They sent me the wrong product, are basically holding me to ransom to follow their mistake and rigid returns process, for me to then wait for a refund (only once they receive the product they wrongly sent to me), for me to then re-order the product I ordered in the first instance. What a shambles. Good customer service would have been, send me the product I ordered via express delivery so I receive what I had ordered promptly and without further delay (with it not being my fault) and then send a courrier to collect the product they through their mistake, had sent to me instead of what I ordered. But no...... my problem leaving me no choice to go through their returns policy, to wait for a refund, but i won't be re-ordering! This kind of customer service doesn't fly in 2025. Sorry.
No problems.. fashion at a reasonable price
I have ordered from american eagle online 3 times. They have not let me down yet! Packages have arrived on time and received all items ordered. Everything has been good quality, fit, and been comfortable so I can not speak to returns.

Ich habe über American Eagle endlich Mal Hosen gefunden die wirklich passen, wenn man breitere hüften und eine schmale Taille hat sind die Hosen einfach ideal. Der Kundenservice ist super schnell und reagiert wirklich hilfsbereit bei Problemen. Ja die Lieferung dauert eher 7 Tage als 3 Tage. ABER das ist die Hose auf jedenfalls wert.
EU Store ist unbrauchbar
Früher, als man noch direkt in USA bestellen konnte, war AE top. Der EU Store ist unbrauchbar. Es fehlen die grossen Grössen, das Sortiment ist schlechter und die Preise viel teuerer. Schade, aber AE hat einen treuen und langjährigen Kunden verloren.
Very poor and humiliating return policy
There is no exception or tolerance with returns but not when its their error in tags attached policy. I received my order upon opening the tags were pulled through a hole in the packing bag for their scanning/shipping/packing purposes when I pulled the jeans out of the bag didnt notice tag was hanging out of the bag anf fell. I immidiately took a video and photo to have so I can explain the situtaion because of this strict tag policy experince in the past I am stuck with clothing I had to donate even though stickers,jean tag on the waist attached just the hanging tag fell still present Manager at the store#00942 was extremly rude,humiliating ,,negative attitude, very condesending sounded like I worn them and they cant be returned no exception. She could've approached this particular situation differently and handle it differently every costumer waiting in line were shook to how she was talking to me and commented,few left their merchandise by the check out and walked out and said not if we get treated like that if accidently tag falls out. I took my merchandise back called the CS care# and was treated exactly the same even though i didnt even try my merchandise On since tag fell just pulling them out of the bag and packg was still at the door and i had just received and tried to return in next day. How is this policy acceptable when you can just put tag back on with your tag gun. The employee was uncomfartble and said if I was a mngr I will take back nothing wrong sometime tags falls out when we stocking, since everything else is still attached including the waist paper tag and sticker size still all intact I would refund it. Left the store and after 23 years its time I say no and not spent a penny where mngr and companies treat people like krap and lessof. Absolutely terrible service not existant they need to follow their own policy and make sure tags cant easily fall by just trying something on and gets caught without even trying to pull tag off on purpose. Very poor judgment on their part. Never will I ever go back to the store or shop with AE and will never recommend it either

Werben mit Rabatten, man bestellt und bekommt Versandbestätigung, kurz danach seitens AE , dass von 3 Artikel 2 storniert wurden, weil wohl niemand dort in UK eine Übersicht über den tatsächlichen Bestand hat.👁️
Übrigens wird ein stornierter Artikel auf der Webseite immer noch in meiner bestellten Größe angeboten.
Für mich hat sich dieser Onlineshop erledigt, werde dort nichts mehr bestellen.❌👎

Twee broeken besteld geloof mij 1000% slecht kwaliteit, klacht ingediend en zij doen er helemaal niks mee kijk naar de reviews dit zegt al genoeg. Klarna laten pauzeren ook zij zetten de betaling door en cashen verder kwam alles snel binnen en juiste maat maar dit nooit meer.

I tried to order one shirt by online and it automatically cancelled, I tried 4 times and all failed.
The first customer service staff said my PayPal had a problem, said I need to talk to PayPal so I changed my payment method to credit card but AE cancelled again.
The 2nd Customer service staff said my credit card billing address is wrong, I need to check with my credit card.
Now this e-mail Customer service staff said these cancellations were because of their verification system.
What the heck is this?
I don't think I'll ever go back to AE again.

Worst shipping issues I've ever experienced with online shopping. Every time, it is shipping within Canada so really should arrive within the 3-7 days they state on the website,but that's never the case. My last order took a well over a month and many conversationswith customer service. And the store wouldn't even allow a return because it had been so long since my purchase by the time it arrived (and the items were christmas gifts that I had to run out snd find replacements for) And all that they offered was 20% off! I decided to give it another try because there were multiple items I loved in store that weren't in my size....but this time it didn't ship out until I contacted customer service asking why it hadn't even shipped yet (5 days after I placed the order) and then they finally created a label that day!? And now the max delivery date has passed and yet another run around by customer service, saying they allow another 14 days after that date, before they will do anything about it. That's actually insane. Nearly a month later is not a reasonable amount of time to receive an order when the website gives 3-7 days standard shipping estimate! I can order something from almost anywhere in the world and receive it in less time than AE takes ship out (in fact, I've ordered from almost everywhere and never waited more than 4 weeks for a package)! It's really unfortunate, I love their clothes but time to move on to another brand. Honestly, TRANSPARENCY is the advice I have for AE....just be honest with your customers about how long this actually takes. That would be helpful for people like me who are ordering for gifts, special occasions, holidays etc and expect something to arrive in a timely manner. And maybe a little organization? And a better tracking system? And less "general" responses from customer service? In a world where other companies are on top of their shipping game and the majority of shopping is done online, it's pretty risky business to not do better.
Disappointed but not totally surprised.
I recently decided to order from American Eagle’s online store because I needed some new pants for work and I kept seeing attractive ads. My first experience was excellent so I decided to shop again. Right now I don’t really know what is going on with my order and I am beyond perturbed. I paid for two day shipping and I met the requirements for that, but my order still has not shipped. I contacted them to see if there was an issue on my end or theirs. They told me that my order had not shipped yet because one item was not available. I don’t understand why they would have something posted on their site if it is not available. I wanted to cancel the order and just get a refund because I don’t want to be bothered with all of this but they won’t let me do that per their policy. I don’t think that’s fair because cancellation should be possible for items that have not shipped, especially if said items are not available. I have contacted them 3 times so far and I’ve been getting vague responses and I really don’t think they’re being helpful or honest. I was supposed to receive an email confirming that my shipping fee was refunded, never got that. After inquiring about that, I was told i would not receive any confirmation on that until my order shipped. Not much I can do right now and that’s frustrating. After this I’m not going to order from them anymore. This is ridiculous. Still hoping to receive what I paid for.
Update: After all of that they decided to cancel part of my order. They should have done that from the beginning. They sent me an email telling me about the cancellation of my shoes and gave me a tracking number that doesn’t work for my other item. This is the worst experience I’ve had with them. I don’t even care anymore lol. Thankfully the money didn’t leave my account because nothing was shipped. Going to stick with Hollister.

Es scheint Masche dieser Firma zu sein Artikel die sie nicht liefern können dies Klarna nicht mitzuteilen, Klarna fordert natürlich alles ein und dann geht es los das Klarna und AE sich die Schuld hin und herschieben!
Fakt ist das ich seit Wochen versuche mein Geld für einen nichtgelieferten Artikel zurück zu bekommen aber anscheinend kann ich das Geld in den Wind schießen. Nie wieder bestelle ich bei American Eagle!!!

Ich habe 5 Artikel bestellt, 3 passten nicht, 1 Artikel wurde von AEO storniert. Über Klarna bezahlt werden soll der Betrag des behaltenen und des stornierten Artikels. Klarna und AEO schieben sich gegenseitig die Verantwortung zu. Der Kundenservice ist völlig unfähig und zu dumm das Problem zu verstehen. Nun habe ich 1 Artikel behalten und soll 2 Artikel bezahlen. Nie wieder AEO...
RETOURE für 20€ !!!!
Jeans passte nicht. Rückgabe. Kein Retourlabel erhalten. Darf als Privatperson keine Tütenverpackung in die USA verschicken. Also umpacken und als Packet verschicken .kostet aber 19.99 €. Habe aber seit 4 Wochen nix mehr gehört noch eine Rückerstattung erhalten.

Ich habe 5 Sachen bestellt 2 Davon wurde von dem Shop storniert 1 Artikel habe ich selbst zurückgeschickt.
Ich habe über klarna bezahlt der zurückgesendete Artikel wurde zwar erstattet aber es wurden 6 Euro abgezogen.
Die anderen beiden Artikel wurden nicht erstattet habe versucht das mit dem Shop zu klären aber bis jetzt immernoch keine Rückerstattung erhalten weil der shop meinte das klarna das machen muss aber Klarna sagt der Shop muss es erst bestätigen.
Der Kundenservice von dem Shop versteht nicht was ich möchte eine Telefonnummer um das zu klären gibt es leider auch nicht. Wahrscheinlich werde ich nie eine Rückerstattung bekommen schade weil die Produkte sind gut.

Wow. I had no idea until now that this clothing store had such bad reviews for pretty much everything. If I had only been on trust pilot before hand I would have never ordered from them. I used to get great quality clothing from them my last purchase was a pair of jeans which have deteriorated after wearing them less than a handful of times in over a 2 month period. After contacting American Eagle they refused to offer an exchange or refund and tried to settle with a measly 15 discount and free shipping off another purchase. NO THANKS. I would highly recommend everyone stay away from this clothing store and spend your money elsewhere

I have never shopped before at American Eagle and after being penalized $27 to return 3 items by mail in 1 parcel it is unacceptable!
The Tee Shirts were certainly not worth it and will not be shopping American Eagle again.
After reading pages and pages of bad reviews and that you are not BBB approved I guess the “American Eagle” says it all! Hope the boycotts hit your company hard.
