Absolutely disgusting service from these guys yesterday. I called to enquire about a recovery as my vehicle had broken down and I was stuck on a red route clearway. I was told it could be sorted and I would receive a call back. I waited around 25-30 minutes (still stuck on a live red route) and called back for an update, only to be told that nothing was available - fair enough. Minutes later, I receive a voicemail telling me they had got a “resort” (I assume this meant recovery) today and to call back to “go through it”. I called back only to be spoken to disgustingly and called a liar! The man on the end of the phone point blank said I hadn’t received a callback or voicemail and called me a liar. I’ve posted evidence on their fb page, with their number on and a generated breakdown of the call script. How dare they call me a liar and speak to me in such a disgusting manner. I’ve used their service several times in the past and recommended them to others - something I won’t be repeating! Evidence of call log and script is posted in the thread of their post on Facebook dated 28/11/25.

Service and price are unbeatable. Genuinely a great job, thought I’d need a whole new clutch but these guys said it wasn’t necessary and thus saved me a fortune.

Went to the garage and they advised we needed a new clutch … booked in for the week after … all done and happy with results … thank you

Very positive review for A1 Clutches. Had a funny thumping noise coming from the engine on a cold start on my VW Transporter. Spoke to A1 and they diagnosed the flywheel &clutch needed to be replaced. The service was excellent and I dropped the van off one day and picked up the next. Quality parts used ( LUK ) so was very happy. Also very reasonable prices. My van runs lovely and very smooth, no juddering from the clutch at all. Would definitely recommend 👍

Obscure misleading invoice, dishonest company taken my vehicle in with gears issues, I was charged £500 for some £25 cables , and 2/3 hours fitting. Collected the car , same issues still present, oil stains over my seat , and start/stop system stopped working. Placed a complaint to the head office in Tipton but I was accused in lying about the oil on my seat, the bad attitude of the demented guy that convinced himself to be great and apparently supplying an accurate detailed invoice is a breach of national security . I ended up having the car fixed at a professional capable garage . A1 should be renamed Z23, they damaged the cables during the fitting / the stop/start system was disconnected or damaged , ( now working again ). I decided to report the company to the trading standards 🙃

What a wonderful company. A1 Clutches saved me from a financial nightmare. Vertu Peugeot Derby, on the other hand, quoted me thousands of pounds to change my semi-automatic gearbox. I decided to shop around and discovered A1 Clutches who quoted me a fraction of the cost. Moreover; A1 Clutches fixed my car within 24hours, Vertu Peugeot Derby couldn't book me in for a repair for at least six weeks.

Terrible experience. Overcharged. Quoted less than half of what it cost by the end. Refused to give me my car back with no work done unless I paid £350. And rude.

Super service, customer focused, very helpful staff. Steve was very helpful. Would highly recommend. Much cheaper than your local garage.
