This was a gift to me from my husband and a pre Christmas treat we were looking forward to attending.
What a huge disappointment! The performances were lacklustre and not at all what was advertised. After viewing the promotional video which showed dynamic and exciting actions, the circus elements bore absolutely no resemblance to what was promoted. The lion, (who for some reason was dressed as a tiger??) walked across the tightrope four times, and looked very nervous. Very basic acrobatics which consisted of a seesaw and four young ladies who performed nothing more spectacular than a simple backflip. The aerial acts were woeful and incredibly limited.
There was no witch flying across the set - she was on a bicycle attached to a golf buggy.
The jokes were not funny and the 'cucumber' joke was not appropriate. In fact several people walked out at this stage.
Many more left at the interval and I looked at the video again to see if we were seeing the same show. We also read the prior reviews and realised, unfortunately, this was the level of the show.
We walked out before the end, along with others. If I could give zero stars I would.
Communication with 'World's Biggest Productions' has been unsuccessful with a unilateral decision to close my complaint.
Still fighting for a refund.

It really doesn’t deserve the one star - for what was the worst performance I’ve ever seen at a cost of £185 for 3 tickets. Please don’t give these charlatans your hard earned money. The advertising looks amazing (which was apparently filmed in rehearsals) - the reality was significantly different. The witch didn’t fly - she sat on top of a golf buggy. The lion was a mute tiger, the sound was terrible, the jokes inappropriate for the audience age, the cast was way below the 60 promised, the acrobats were very mediocre. I’ve never queued to leave a venue at the interval - I did at this show! AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Hi we bought premium tickets to watch the show at hull bonus arena they reorganised the stage layout email told us in january saying there would be no difference to the view or experience when we arrived are seats are next to all the props you you were watching a side view of the show or the performers were to the front of the stage great experience at top seat prices we did ask if we could be moved be told it was a sell out then at the break they ask us to move are chairs back so they could drive the bugy with the witch on top round flying witch was advertised we refused and got told we would be letting down 2000 people in the arena because of it could not believe i told him we had paid for premium seats to watch this at £120 made no difference to the stage guy we complained to hull arena says it nothing to do with we have contacted the world biggest production no reply no suprise there at all contacted and forward information on to bbc watchdog. which are coming back to me also martin lewis ,this morning show and have a contact for one show who are intrested have also sent message to guy who played the scarecrow some body told me this is his dad business that’s why he is in the shows don’t no how true that is also they are showing for this xmas with new scrooge show everybody stay away

Unfortunately, there is no option for 0 stars, so I had to give it a thoroughly undeserved 1 star.

Where to start. It was awful.

It opened with a bizarre sketch of building boxes, that was neither funny or tied to any part of the story (the theme of a lack of a story carried strongly throughout the ‘performance’).
The audience were then dazzled by such sights as a lion that was a tiger; a kangaroo appeared on stage, however I am unfamiliar with a kangaroo being in the wizard or oz; water guns were used with no apparent link to the story; the flying witch, was a bike attached to a golf buggy.

The stunts were very poor, as was the set. There was nothing ‘cirque’ or ‘spectacular’ about the show.

We watched the show at the AO arena in Manchester and instead of watching the show I watched the droves of people from the audience leaving, many at the interval, but even more during the course of the second half.

Despite the woefully inadequate ‘show’ that we had the misfortune to witness, my main concern relates to the ‘Worlds Biggest Production’ company and specifically the two following points:

- misrepresentation of text - the ticket notes that it was a ‘cirque’. On the actual tickets it highlighted it was a ‘cirque spectacular’. At no point did the performance represent a ‘cirque spectacular’.
- misrepresentation of promotion trailer - the promotion trailer provided clips of fire eaters and the witch flying, along with the show being more ‘spectacular’ than was evident on the night.

Avoid at all costs (which are significant) if this ‘production’ rolls into your nearest town!

Wicked Wizard of OZ, BP Pulse Live Birmingham 22/12/2025
On 05/07/25 I purchased 8 tickets for the Wicked Wizard of OZ, BP Pulse Live Birmingham 22/12/2025. At a total of £324.00 these tickets were not cheap and promoted the expectation of a show of 'London' levels of production.
It was billed as:
The WORLDS BIGGEST PRODUCTIONS present
a brand-new, breath-taking Cirque staging of Frank L. Baum’s story of The Wizard of Oz.
Pantomime meets Cirque… Be Amazed!
Billed as a “breath-taking Cirque staging of The Wizard of Oz”, the audience were instead unimpressed by a glorified panto without the laughs.
I was deeply disappointed in the standard of production – I have seen better school plays.
The story was difficult to follow, and the actors/props were mediocre to say the least.
We were promised “spectacular aerial stunts and amazing special effects”
The gymnasts and trapeze artists were not very skilled and one came close to injuring herself every time she flipped. There was no wow factor in these displays at all.
The lighting was abysmal with any action off stage being totally in the dark.
There were jokes with a cucumber which were inappropriate for the children present and distasteful to some of the adults in the audience.
I saw many people leave at the interval as the show was so poor.
It was inappropriate for the actor playing the scarecrow at the end to tout for donations to his own charity.
A very, very substandard performance, and given the price of the tickets I would call this a scam.

We saw this on 28th Dec Hydro Glasgow .
What a total disappointment and waste of a lovely day it was a birthday gift to my girls ..not as advertised loads people as well as us left early we were all handed complaint forms on way out by staff .

Honestly thought I was taking my daughter to a SPECTACULAR show... that it was NOT. Inappropriate content, very poor sounding, paid for the best seats at over £60 each. Utter rip off. Show was behind us half the time too!

This is by far the worst show I have ever seen. (And I’ve seen a lot from school/college productions through to Broadway shows). I have never walked out of a show - this was a first. The price was ridiculous for a show of this level. This was not an arena level show warranting this price. This was a free holiday hotel performance level. It is disgraceful that they are allowed to get away with ripping off customers like this. We had ten family members attending for Christmas presents. Disgracefully!! (Leeds Arena show)

I purchased 4 tickets for this show as a Christmas gift at a cost of £65 each

Unfortunately the production was of poor quality.

The sound quality and staging was below a reasonable standard as we were not able to hear what was happening on stage.

The production featured a very amateur level of circus skills, at points I was concerned for the performers safety.

Promotional videos and photos were very misleading, with photos and videos of performers we did not see within the show.

Tickets were very over priced for a small production that was not suitable for a large arena venue.

Had to give 1 as no place for 0 stars. Worst performance I have ever attended. Trailer displayed a witch flying through the theatre we had a half green faced women on a bike stuck to a golf cart. The lion was a tiger the tin man a transformer. Horrendous acting Horrendous singing, inappropriate content and left before the interval

Bought 6 tickets to the glasgow show, paid well over £300 and feel completely conned. Worst show i have ever seen.

Went to see their production of the Wicked Wizard of Oz in Glasgow on December 27th at the OVO Hydro. The pre advertising described it as a “Cirque Specular” and “Ariel Spectacular” there was nothing Spectacular about the show.
Right from the start the stage setting looked very bare and other than a large screen at the rear displaying images never improved.

The sound was terrible and a lot of the time distorted. I have been at a number of shows in this venue and never had this before. What story there was, was terrible. The characters unbelievable, the cowardly lion wore a tiger suit and never spoke one word in the whole show, for some reason the tin man turned into an 8 foot transformer. For a family show there was a totally inappropriate routine between the Scarecrow and the Wizard involving a Cucumber.

Over all the cast were amateurs or had been pushed to do stuff beyond their abilities.

Shortly after the show started people began leaving, two full rows behind us left before the interval and many did not return after. We stated out of a morbid curiosity at no point did the show improve.

I would never go and see another production by this company again, I paid a lot of money to see a spectacular and was subjected to a poorly presented Gymnastics class pantomime.

Having been a performer myself for over ten years...I can categorically say that this ''scam-tomime' 'spectacularly awful' was the worst thing I've ever seen. Sold into arenas with misleading adverts what this company has done is sown mistrust for consumers of the entire industry AND the arena's themselves AND the ticket companies - trust has been BLOWN, not least because the system of complaint and recourse is broken. This show was CHEAPLY MADE, poor sound, awful staging, contained a glory hole scene with a cucumber that was getting 'erect'(and not) and then it was sliced off, eaten and spat into a performers face. Funny ? For children ? Everything was...mediocre and worse, a show that looked like it was made for a budget holiday park. I SINCERELY hope consumer rights on productions such as these can be improved...enjoyment was NOT subjective. Personally I wish I'd stood up and shouted 'this is rubbish' but...I'm English. Sigh. Do better.

Booked vip tickets for myself and my son in April, based on the advertising video and flyer for this 'Spectacular'show, at the AO Arena Manchester.
We always go to see a panto at Christmas and I am a regular theatre goer.

The actual show was nothing like the promotional material.

Poor sound, I could not understsnd a word that was said or sung.

The lion was dressed in a tiger costume.

The wicked witch, was shown in the promo flying on her broomstick. In reality she was sat on a bicycle, which was fixed on top of a golf buggy, driven round the autorium. No attempt was made to camoflage said buggy.

The gymnasts were yoing girls, on a see saw, who only just managed to stay on their feet, on landing, very amateur. Nothing like the promo video which showed grown men, being catapulted upwards on the seesaw, onto the shoulders of other gymnasts.

I have tried to get a refund, but the production company say the show was as advertised, which it definately was not.
The production company further state that my opinion is subjective and as such I do not have grounds for a refund.

Save your money and look elsewhere for a show. Definately NOT one of the 'World's Biggest Productions'

Wicked wizard of Oz - a cirque spectacular. As if!!!

Had this ‘show’ not cost me £74 per ticket it would be laughable at just how terrible it was! My daughter and I left before the interval and I have never done that before.

Do NOT believe the advertising this company provides or you too will fall foul of their deceit.

Went to Wicked Wizard of Oz - A Cirque Spectacular in Glasgow on 27th Dec.
Words cannot describe just how bad this was. Sound was inaudible, performers were at best amateur and set started off as bare stage with boxes then they took the boxes off. Some scenes were totally inappropriate and phallic.
Waste of £125 and they won't refund.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

We saw this show at OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Dec 28th. We were so looking forward to it after seeing the promo videos online. We were beyond dissappointed and left at the interval along with a lot of others! There was a queue to get OUT the hydro at interval! The lighting rig set up meant the view was obscured. The sound quality was awful and tinny. The "flying" witch shown in promos was a woman on a bike strapped to a golf cart. The "cirque acts" were young girls who when jumping on the see saw nearly fell multiple times and others staggered back when landing - we were waiting on someone getting hurt! The acts in the hoops etc were really just people posing throughout. The story made absolutely no sense and the whole thing was completely disjointed. There was some contect that I would have been horrified to have taken children to although it was marketed as family friendly - the cucumber scene, the glory hole. The jokes were not funny and I honestly at times thought the show was some kind of prank. Multiple news stories about the same as we witnessed from all different venues. Massively expensive and misled advertising. The producers have treated everyone complaining terribly and refused refunds, blocked anyone posting negative reviews on social media and reported people for sharing videos/photos as copyright (never once were we told no cameras etc allowed in the venue). Absolutely shameful and deliberate misleading in the adverts and promos with different "acrobats" shown compared to who was on stage. AVOID ANYTHING THIS COMPANY PRODUCES AT ALL COSTS.

This company have recently been touring the UK and Ireland with something they called a “Cirque Spectacular - Wicked Wizard of Oz’. I can honestly say this is THE worst production of anything I have ever seen (leave alone something I paid £50 a ticket for!). My friends and I, along with many other audience members walked out at the interval. The first time in my 62 years that I have ever left before the end of a show. Apparently, this was happening at every one of their ‘performances’. Please don’t waste your money on anything advertised or associated with this company.

Saw their Wizard of Oz cirque Spectacular. It was truly abysmal. I will never trust their advertising or description of shows ever again. Paid £160 for 4 of us to sit in the Gods at The Brighton Centre. Our line of site was obstructed by some strange and incredibly unnecessary props. However, what we could see (and hear) at times, was back stage. We were so high we could see over the curtain for back stage. The show started, then stopped, the stage was empty and music put back on. What we could see backstage was absolute pandemonium. People running up and down and a man, who i presumed was stage manager raising his voice. It was incredibly uncomfortable to watch. We then saw about 8 ladies enter the back door and the man shout at them saying they should have been there 10 mins ago. After a few mins of the compere playing piano onstage (we were distracted watching backstage) the girls appeared in their sparkles on stage.
We saw Dorothy getting mic’d up (backstage) when the show had already started (dignified, not). We were there for the acrobatics and they were not up to scratch. They were good, but the poor girls were injured and quite honestly I didn’t feel it was safe for the girls to be doing what they were doing (things far from as technical as shown in the advert). Especially, when one of the poor girls had clearly injured her ankle and was still required to support her fellow acrobats. I feel there is a welfare issue with this company.
The witch on top of a golf cart was hilarious and not in the way i’d hoped. The super soakers in the hurricane were unnecessary and I really just cannot believe they thought this show was justified for £40 per person (and our tickets were the cheaper end)
We’ve all been told we cannot get refunds, which is fine, a lesson has been learnt. Don’t book anything with this company.
