Far from great
Overall I am disappointed with the product. It is unreasonably noisy, the actual bike feel is also far from great, the pedals have gaps in resistance on top/bottom when really loaded. It is impossible to pedal not sitting in the seat as the pedals start to "stutter". The app is OK but far from being really polished. Failed to connect to my heart rate sensor. Basically "megh" product.

A couple of specific points: standing to pedal on a Wattbike does take a slightly different technique than a fixed-wheel bike, since the flywheel isn't rigidly connected the same way — this can cause the stutter you're describing if you're not used to it, and we're happy to talk you through it. On the noise level, whilst Wattbikes aren't a silent bike, we'd like to get in touch to take a closer look. We'd also like to check which heart rate monitor you're using, as compatibility can vary by model.

Bought an atom a few years ago
Bought an atom a few years ago. Not cheap. Was ok whilst working but had numerous issues, thankfully within warranty period. My son then bought one, against my advice. His has had very little use. Now warranty has expired it’s faulty and is unusable because it doesn’t measure /apply watts accurately. Customer service tell me it’s some type of sensor, which I don’t consider to be a consumable part. They won’t sell me the part and only option is a ‘service’ for £200. I can literally have my van serviced for less than that. The atom is now an expensive piece of junk. On that basis I would never buy another and would recommend that potential purchasers look elsewhere…unless you don’t mind spending £200 every time it goes wrong.

We’re sorry to hear that you remain unhappy with your experience.
Having reviewed our records, your Wattbike Atom is now over five years old. While we appreciate that this is a significant investment, like any piece of mechanical and electronic equipment, ongoing maintenance is important to ensure continued performance. We recommend servicing Wattbikes every two years.
Our team has diagnosed the issue as a fault with the flywheel sensor. This is an internal component and is not designed to be replaced by the customer, which is why we’re unable to simply supply the part separately. The repair requires an engineer to access and replace the component correctly, which is covered by the service we have offered.
We understand that the cost of servicing can be frustrating, particularly when the bike has developed a fault. However, the service cost covers more than simply replacing the sensor and ensures the bike is inspected and returned to full working order by a trained engineer.
Regarding your comments about our previous responses, our team has always intended to be helpful and courteous, and we’re sorry that this has come across differently.
We appreciate your feedback and are sorry that, on this occasion, we haven’t been able to leave you with a more positive impression of Wattbike.

Lots of clear, practical information before ordering; easy ordering process; bike arrived in immaculate condition; clear assembly instructions and a well-designed app that works. I rest an iPad on the handlebar stand and it's stable at all times - never worry about it toppling off. The manual controls on the handlebars sync well with the app. Overall, a great bike, beautifully made by people who clearly care!

Comfort saddle much better for women cyclists
Easy to order and arrived on time. The comfort saddle is so much softer and shaped better for a female rider than the saddle that came with the Watt bike. Long rides are now possible.

Had the bike for along time now
Had the bike for along time now, but haven’t used it excessively due to injury and other limitations , when the bike works properly it’s great, but if you get a problem the back up is slow, when all you want to do is ride and improve your fitness .
The Ai assistant is very poor , and the software is unreliable once you have a problem.
If you look on eBay or other selling platforms there are a lot up for sale as other trainers aren’t as finicky to use.

Thanks for the detailed feedback, and glad we've now got this sorted with you directly.
On the AI side: a number of your messages came in through two different email addresses and separate help centre forms rather than as replies on one thread. Our system reads each of those as a new, unconnected enquiry, which is why you ended up repeating the same troubleshooting steps (serial number, sensor videos, etc.) more than once - that wasn't the AI missing something, it just couldn't tell the separate messages were from the same person and the same issue.
That's part of why our team called you directly to work through the troubleshooting properly rather than continuing over email - sometimes a call is just quicker for getting to the bottom of it. Replying on a single email thread going forward will also help us pick up exactly where things left off.
On the bike itself, our recommendation stands: given the age and use, a general service will resolve the remaining issues, including the flywheel sensor, in one visit rather than working through them piecemeal. Happy to help get that booked in whenever suits you.

Really impressed with my reconditioned…
Really impressed with my reconditioned Wattbike. You genuinely wouldn’t know it wasn’t brand new — it arrived in excellent condition, looks spotless, and performs perfectly.
The bike feels solid, smooth and high quality, and the whole reconditioning process has clearly been done to a very high standard. A great way to get a Wattbike for better value without feeling like you’re compromising on quality.

I’ve owned the Wattbike for over two years and this is the first time I’ve had to replace a part. Given this was simply the padded armrests, which become sweat laden and suffer multiple washes it’s more than reasonable. Otherwise mechanically, the trainer still performs perfectly

Needs some work
I haven’t even started using the bike yet because after waiting for it for nearly 3 months, I still need to find the time to put it together. Given the amount of money and time waiting for it to arrive it should be ready to use when received. It also arrived later than the 4 hour window. Again not a problem if it was put together when it arrived.

We know waiting nearly three months isn't the experience we want for our customers. Your order was affected by global delays that were sadly outside of our control, and we apologise for the extra wait this caused.
On assembly: our bikes are sent flat-packed rather than fully built, mainly due to their size and to protect the bike during transport — but we understand that after such a long wait, having to then find the time to build it adds to the frustration. It's designed to be straightforward to assemble, and our team is happy to help talk you through it if needed.
We're also sorry your delivery arrived outside the agreed 4-hour window — we'll be reporting this back to the courier.

Exceptional, clear and genuinely helpful support
I contacted Wattbike with a fairly detailed question about cooling and airflow during prolonged and high-intensity indoor training.
Isabel was exceptional. She answered every question directly, explained Wattbike’s recommendations clearly, and importantly explained the reasoning and limitations rather than giving me a generic customer-service response.
The distinction she made between general room cooling and direct airflow over the rider was particularly helpful, as was the explanation around rider comfort, sweat management and protecting the bike itself.
Clear, thoughtful and genuinely useful support. It gave me confidence that I properly understood Wattbike’s position rather than having to make assumptions.
Isabel is an absolute credit to Wattbike.
