Waterpik has always had a reliability issue going back more than a decade. Most of the issues have been with the hand-held water flossers. They tended to stop working after a few months. This time, the corded version arrived dead on arrival. I have ordered a new one and I really hope it works flawlessly.

Update 13/10/2026. The second unit arrived and has exactly the same issue. This is either a product batch or incomplete instructions. I requested a call back from the manufacturer and after a recorded voice message, the call was terminated by the manufacturer.

It is clear that Waterpik should be aware of this issue. If they are not, then they are negligent and if they are, then they are worse than negligent. Time to look for an alternative manufacturer with a better approach to product reliability

I'm very disappointed in my new Waterpik Flosser Gem 5100.
-The reservoir is difficult to fill completely; takes several attempts.
-The button to remove the pik is difficult to use as well as pulling out the pik
-Difficult to remove residual water remaining in the reservoir.
-The rotating device moves easily if you're not careful.
-The device is hard to hold unless one has a large hand.
All in all I'm quite dissatisfied with your "improvements', especially with an $80 price tag.
I really miss my old Waterpik which I had to discontinue using as it was starting to leak. I don't remember the model but the charger was magnetic.
To sum up, this will be my last Waterpik flosser purchase. Will choose a different brand next time.

bought flosser device from official store online, did not work.

new device - tank leaked, nozzle jumped out of socket from water pressure.

followed their guides - nothing changed.

so basically they send non working devices.

I purchased a Waterpik Promax device at my dentist’s recommendation to help prevent gum disease. I find the device unbearable to use: even at its lowest setting, it is painful, loud, and extremely uncomfortable. I contacted Waterpik to return the device, but the company refused to offer a resolution.

8 months and that "little engine" that could COULDN'T. It just died mid use. Without the purchase date I was stuck having to throw it away. hunk of junk.

Waterpik works well when new, but customer service is slow, creating challenges. I’ll use it because it’s effective and recommended by my dentist.

I had 2 Waterpik devices. First was Nano and it died after 2.5 years, after I bought more “heavy duty” device Waterpik ULTRA Plus WP-160 and it also died today after only 3.5 years. Kind recommendation DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THAT COMPANY! Never again!

Purchased Waterpik Flosser and reported via email and warranty form that pressure button was loose. Supplied video clip showing fault. Warranty claim rejected without even receiving Flosser back to inspect properly. So returning for refund at my own expense. Customer Service Rep, Marcin, was not helpful, and to be honest was rude and abrupt. I seemed to be an inconvenience... AVOID using this company direct, and even via other sellers as product cannot be trusted...

Bought a waterpik because my dentist recommended it and handed me a pamphlet with coupons. He was probably paid to advertise it. It lasted JUST longer than the warranty. Seems like the motor died. And of course it is not repairable. I bought another brand as a replacement.

Nothing really wrong with the unit but you can only buy replacement parts online at their store and have to pay for shipping. You can buy the water flossers everywhere but not the parts.

I purchased a $130 water flosser from Amazon, the brand is waterpik sidekick. In 32 days, the motor stopped working. Amazon advised me to email customer service of waterpik. After a lot of back and forth emails, they sent me other small parts in different shipments, they were not what were broken. Their customer service finally sending me a new unit. It only 23 days, broke again with motor not working.
I emailed and offered to send back. Madeline(the special rep) emailed and wanted to send a "replacement unit". Why do I take the notorious bad produce. I went to post office and told the post office staff never let the package arrive on my property.
Waterpik is an un-ethical company.

Every Waterpik I've ever owned broke down completely within half a year of buying it, and usually within two months; I think they have to be designed to die as soon as they possibly can, in order to encourage you to go back and get a replacement.

I own a ION Cordless Water Flosser. I bought it a year and a half ago for around 250$. The product is decent; however, the Customer Service is an absolute disgrace. Horrible experience.
During a move to a new place, I lost the power supply.
3 weeks ago I contacted the support via the website, asking where to buy a replacement. Mind you: I didn't ask for a free replacement.
After a week of no response, I sent another support request, still via the website.
Another week passed with no response from support, so I contacted them via WhatsApp.
The response via WhatsApp is appaling: they told me there is no replacement, and there is no option for me other than buying a new flosser. So 250 dollars litterally, down the drain.

waterpik the devices work well but and there is a but. the travel units have a bag to store them. the problem with the bag as we'[ve discovered on a road trip is that the unit turns on if a bump in the road moves the unit .
it needs a hard case like an Oral B toothbrush.
the ion professional has a different problem, the magnetic holder dies after a few years and of course the warranty runs out at 3 years. They say that they cant help you after that.

Bought this because the depth was 3.8 inches according to the website. With cord and flare it’s over 5 inches.

It won’t fit in my cabinet.

Received today but Amazon won’t let me return it.

Waste of money because some fool at Waterpic can’t use a measuring tape.

I originally left a one-star review for this company due to how Brittany handled my situation. After filing a complaint with the BBB I got a call back from Madeline G and she was very, very helpful. How she handled this and came to a great resolution is how it should have been dealt with to begin with. Due to Madeline G I've now put five stars. My original review is below:

Not impressed with this company at all, A complaint was filed with the Better Business bureau this morning.

My water pik while under warranty was leaking. 10 months ago.

This company sent a replacement part and it still leaked. Then I was sent a new unit and that started to leak a few days ago.

When I explained this to Brittany on the phone earlier today she seemed very disinterested and completely unwilling to help.

To me this is not how a business should conduct itself. Zero ethics and they take no responsibility for a faulty part that they have designed and sell.

Be careful if you intend to deal with this company.

The new Waterpik Model WP-580 flosser is nothing like as good as the old one I bought a couple of years ago. This new one leaked like a sieve and only had about 50% of the water capacity of the old one, and lower water pressure as well. It went back and I bought a cheapo Chinese one for 1/5th of the price which seems just as good as the original Waterpik - save your pennies!

I really wanted to like this product because when it works, it actually does a decent job cleaning between teeth and improving gum health. Unfortunately, the build quality and long-term reliability completely ruined the experience for me.

After only a few months of normal use, the unit started having problems with inconsistent pressure and occasional leaking around the reservoir area. The charging connection also became unreliable, which was frustrating considering how expensive these devices are compared to other oral care products. For something designed to be used daily, I expected much better durability.

Customer support was polite at first, but the warranty process became unnecessarily complicated. I had to repeat the same information multiple times, wait days for replies, and still didn’t get a clear solution quickly. It felt like they were more focused on technicalities than actually helping customers resolve the issue.

The idea behind the product is good, but the quality control and after-sales support need serious improvement. I can only give 2 stars because the performance is decent when the device actually functions properly.
