Dar Challa in Marrakesh: fantastic holidays!
I rented, though Villanovo, Villa Dar Challa in Marrakesh for 8 days /late a July 2025. Villanovo for did an excellent job. Dar Challa is a really nice property; services were superb; food exquisite - Marrocan Cooking -.

Dangerous villa / awful experience with Villanovo
Awful awful expereince. We left a week early as villa was not just in poor state but dangerous - nails screws exposed in broken joinery in kids bedrooms, leaking internally, electrics failing.
Do not ever rent from Villanovo - they ignored all these issues and blamed on the "owner" even though our contract was with them. I wrote a complaint to the two owners and other staff - literally ignored after they took our money. Horrific expereince and awful company

We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations and that you chose to leave the villa after the first week of your stay.
However, we are surprised by the tone and content of your review, especially given the considerable efforts made by our team to support you during and after your stay.
As a gesture of goodwill, and despite the villa being privately owned, we organised:
- A full refund for the second week of your villa rental (which is really an exceptional measure that we did not have to do, based on our contractual agreement),
- A full refund for the second week of your car rental (offered by Villanovo as this had a non refundable cancellation policy)
- A full refund of the concierge service fees for both weeks
These actions were taken promptly and in good faith, despite the issues reported being related to the maintenance of a property managed locally.
We also note that your Trustpilot profile shows a pattern of leaving exclusively 1-star reviews. While we respect every customer’s right to share their opinion, we encourage readers to take this into account when forming their own view.
While we understand that your expectations were not met, we believe our response was fair, responsible, and went well beyond what most companies would offer in similar circumstances.
We remain committed to offering our clients the highest standards of service and regret that you did not acknowledge the efforts made to resolve the situation constructively.

Friendly and helpful at every stage
Friendly and helpful at every stage. The house was in a good state and when we did have an issue with a lightbulb giving us disco effects it was sorted rapidly. Thanks to Emmanuelle for everything they did to help us out.

We had a serious issue during our stay
We had a serious issue during our stay, and Villa Novo’s response was completely inadequate. They were slow, disorganized, and ultimately unable to resolve the situation — despite multiple follow-ups from our side. For a company advertising luxury service, the lack of accountability and efficiency was unacceptable. Would not book through them again.

This is scam company I got caught…
This is scam company I got caught firstly you fill out an enquiry form then you get a response saying your booking is being looked at by a team memeber then I got an email from a team member who responded with a proposal saying the villa we requested was available and dates and to reply to confirm and a hold would be placed on the property I replied immediately and got no response on Saturday even though they were open and then I got an email this morning saying they have to check availability and price with villa owner VERY MISLEADING when I questioned this I was told the previous proposal email was false and automated even though it came from a person named Marc directly the automated response came from a totally different email, when you call this company you get speaking with a girl who doesn’t know anything and when I said is this a scam website she answered maybe.
I booked flights based on the proposal and I am now stuck with now accommodation BE VERY CAREFUL thanks for the reply below but I am not looking for an alternative I am looking for the villa I had enquired about with Marc

I booked a Riad in Morocco through Villanovo and stayed there in April 2025. They initially placed a €500 holding deposit on my bank account as security against damage and breakages. None of which we incurred. Shortly after my stay, they charged the full €500 without any explanation or justification.
When I contacted them to query the charge and request a refund, they denied debiting my account—despite me sending clear supporting evidence from my bank statement. Since then, they have stopped responding entirely.
I have reported the issue to my bank as suspected fraud and I am in the process of filing complaints with APST and Atout France for misconduct.
I strongly recommend avoiding this company.
