This is a great humidifier
This is a great humidifier. Yes, it's more expensive than others but it manages not to over-saturate the air. This makes for a much cleaner experience that's self-regulating. Combine that with a very quick shipping time and overall it's a great experience.

I purchased the humidifier cleaner sold…
I purchased the humidifier cleaner sold by Venta. I did notice that after using the cleaner, the roller seemed much cleaner. I did a Q-tip test and found most of the pink mold was gone.
The Vento humidifier cleaner does seem to do a good job.

As for the pink color you described, this could be do to overuse of the Water Treatment Additive. The Water Treatment Additive only needs to be added after each regular maintenance cleaning every 10-14 days when using tap water.

It does what it is supposed to do. The price has jumped quite a bit.
It replaced one I had been using since 2017. The old one made a ticking noise that kept me awake. I had replaced parts and it was just time for a new one. Very happy with both the old and the new. I also have a 45 that works great.

a happy customer for 25 plus years
Just purchased a VentaWasher as a housewarming gift for friends. Why? Because I have used one (or more) for over 25 years and can't imagine a winter without this appliance! Excellent engineering means they will last a LONG time and when something does wear out, replacement parts are available, so you aren't throwing the whole unit out and starting over.

Fast, easy and effective!
My new home was very dry ( about 25% humidity) and within just 4 days of running the Venta Air the humidity was up to my desired humidity of 45%, and is maintaining. And the tank is easy to fill!

Manual could have more specific directions on differentiating automatic mode as only controlling the fan motor speed and turbo mode as maximizing fan motor speed but still subject to the “set” RH (which resets on changing modes).
Water capacity is less than advertised as it accounts for filling bottom tray and water storage container, but bottom tray has no water making. The water tank itself has less capacity than its much cheaper LW45 counterpart.
The room humidity is consistently 10% RH less than the two external digital hygrometers (one as part of a Dyson air purifier and the other as a stand alone) 20 feet away in the same room. Additionally, RH falls up to 17% below target humidity overnight when the heater runs most. NOTE: this is used in my 700 sq. ft finished basement so it should have the capacity to humidify the entire area (I also keep the bedroom and storage room doors closed reducing this area to closer to 450 sq ft. I account for the difference in RH within the room compared to the digital hygrometer built into the unit by increasing its set up by 10%.
I was also unaware of the need to replace hygiene discs in this unit at a cost of -$50 every 3 months. This cost more than the HEPA filters from Dyson.
Overall, the product seems to humidify in the dry Denver climate, but I am not sure it is worth the cost. I debate whether using two LW45 units would have been better (cheaper upfront cost) with no need to purchase expensive hygiene discs…

Thank you for your feedback. Based on this information it seems as though there may be some confusion and/or additional questions.
The AW902 model does have the largest tank capacity in our lineup, with 3 gallons in the tank and an additional .3 gallons in the water reservoir, whereas the LW45 Original and LW45 Comfort Plus hold 2.6 gallons (3 gallons without the disc stack).
Regarding the hygrometer readings, while we cannot verify the accuracy of other brands, we do strongly recommend any standalone hygrometers be placed in the direct vicinity of the Venta Humidifier for the most accurate data.
Regarding the Hygiene Discs, these do replace the need for the Water Treatment Additive used in our smaller devices and are used to soften the water and thus prolong the life of your device.
Regarding the humidity, we do recommend allowing 7-10 days of running the device on the highest speed before you will notice improvement in your air. Due to the natural evaporative humidification method, objects in your space such as furniture, flooring, books, musical instruments, plants, and other textiles will absorb the moisture output before you will notice the difference in the air.
