I wish I had read all the negative reviews before purchasing from Value City. We ordered our couch, peat SoHo couch with chaise and middle armless recliner, over a month ago. Since then, we’ve gotten nothing but the runaround. Not once have they reached out to us—we’ve been the ones calling and checking their website daily. Every time we think we’re getting closer to a delivery date, it changes again.
I understand that manufacturing delays happen, but I paid over $2,000 for this couch, which is a lot of money, and every time we call, the delivery date gets pushed back even further. At one point, we were told that two pieces were available for pickup, only for them to later say it was actually different pieces, and then the date got delayed even further. Every time we call, it feels like they have no idea what’s going on, and instead of giving us real answers, they just push the date out even more. On top of that, they act like we’re bothering them just for asking about something we already paid for.
The most ridiculous part. They told us to call back on Wednesday to check what their truck will bring them—how do they not know what’s on their own truck?! This is a terrible manufacturing-to-storefront business model if every shipment is a surprise.
This was supposed to be our nice, long-term couch, but at this point, it feels like we were scammed. The current delivery date is the 20th, but I have no confidence that it won’t get delayed again. Do yourself a favor—DO NOT BUY FROM VALUE CITY or any of their affiliated companies. I wish I had read the reviews or checked Reddit before ordering because this seems to be a common issue. I just want my couch—this is ridiculous.
They reached out twice now but both times they said it might be in their warehouse they aren't sure because it's so full. They were going to call us back after checking, no one called us back either time. I will say at least they reached out to us this time but only to tell us...surprise another 2 week delay.
Stay away from VCF
Don't even bother trying to get furniture from this place. They will take your money, but you will never get your order. I have been trying to get my money back or furniture delivered for 5 months. I was told 2 weeks when I ordered, then they just keep calling making excuses.

Ordered furniture, it never showed up. Was told it would be in within 2 weeks. Then they bumped it to a month. After a month, they offered 10% discount for inconvenience. We agreed. Two weeks later, salesman called, apologized for delay and offered another discount because the set had gone on sale. After two months got an email, furniture has arrived. Being we live over an hour away, I called store to confirm. Was told furniture was there and ready. Was also told they weren't going to honor discount. When I arrived at store, only part of the order was there, they said they could get it next week. I may be a slow learning, but I do catch on.
Cancelled the order. Bought nicer furniture elsewhere, showed up in four days. So disappointed with this company.
10+ rescheduled delivery dates
After 8 months and 10 delivery reschedules, I have 3/4th of the couch that I paid in full upon purchasing. The other 1/4th has been rescheduled 3 times now. Hopefully, one day, I will have my full purchase.
Be prepared for a RESCHEDULE.
Order a sofa and it took a month to get it. Reschedule the delivery cause it was damaged the first time and the second time was Uh..I don’t remember but I finally got it a month later and it’s great.

I placed my order for my couch on 1/29/25, delivery was to be on 2/25/25. I get a notification that it was delayed about a week after my order was placed. It is now 2/19/25 - I just got another notification that it has been delayed AGAIN!!! and this time delayed 3 weeks - delivery is now 3/12/25.
They don't offer discount or partial refunds for delays which is ridiculous considering it is there fault!! I have now been living without a couch for 3+ weeks and now I have to go 4 more weeks without a couch!!!! I am furious!!! It will probably get delayed again.
When am I going to get my couch that I paid full price for????

I talked to customer service and was told there was nothing they could do... how ridiculous!!! I am a repeat buyer at value city and after this order - I will never be buying from them again!!! They do not care about there buyers!!!!
VCF ARE FRAUD AND SCAMMER.
We purchased sofa online paying in full to Value City Furniture 2 months back. We were provided later delivery date. from last several weeks we get call from VCF every few days with new delivery date and new story. Finally we were told that our product is received and will be delivered. Just before a delivery date now they are saying its only partial. We will receive missing pieces after couple of months (May be). Customer service person Sahara bluntly tell us that we can just give you a dates no guarantee and you just wait for it infinitely. I am pretty sure they took money from lots of people beyond their capacity to deliver and now just scamming them by giving them partially deliveries. This a just legit way of fraud and scamming innocent customers who paid for the product and patiently waited for their product.
NEVER BUY FROM VCF. THEY ARE FRAUD AND SCAMMER.
Disappointing Experience with VCF Store – Robinson Locationhase at the VCF Store
I made a purchase at the VCF Store in Robinson (1400 Park Manor Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA) on November 23rd, consisting of a 5-piece sofa, a queen bed, and a mirror dresser. The agreed delivery date was December 24th, but the entire process has been an ongoing disappointment.
On December 23rd, I received a call stating that the dresser was damaged and would not be delivered, but the rest of the furniture would arrive as scheduled. However, no one contacted me that day to provide a delivery timeframe. I had to go to the store myself, only to find out that no delivery had been scheduled due to an internal mistake. They apologized and rebooked the delivery for January 2nd.
On January 1st, I received another call informing me they were still unable to resolve the dresser issue but assured me the sofa and bed would be delivered. On January 2nd, only two pieces of the 5-piece sofa arrived, and the bed was missing entirely. When I contacted the store, the manager acknowledged the situation and promised to refund my delivery fee, which I appreciate. However, this gesture does not resolve the underlying issues with the order or the inconvenience caused.
This experience has been extremely frustrating, and the lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. While the offer to refund the delivery fee is a small consolation, it doesn’t address the larger problems. I am deeply disappointed with the customer service and will definitely share the issues I’ve had. I strongly recommend that no one buy from this store.
ADDING NEW DEVELOPMENTS
I went, again, personally to the store to claim my money back, as they are clearly unable to solve the problem quickly. The manager’s response was that they could only process the refund after collecting the pieces already delivered. Honestly, this is just getting better and better. They are the ones who failed to commit to the agreed dates, messed up the delivery, and now want to dictate the terms of how I can get my money back. This level of incompetence is unacceptable.

We purchase a couch in Ann Arbor, in Oct. 2021. First the material stated to pill. We contacted the warranty company and they refused to pay for replacement. After complaining, the store replaced the cushion cover. Next the wooden frame broke. Again we contacted the warranty company. They had to replace the piece of furniture, but they don't cover delivery. They wanted to charge half the cost of the furniture, for a delivery fee.
They are still selling junk furniture, regardless of what they told us about trying to improve their image.

Like many others, our experience with Value City Furniture was awful. Initially, we were told our couch would be delivered in November. That date came and went without any contact from them. Then, we were told it would arrive in mid-December. When it finally showed up, only half of the couch was delivered—again, with no prior communication to inform us of this.
Who delivers half of a couch? It’s not like these were two separate, standalone pieces. The left and right sides of the couch go together, making the delivery of only half completely unacceptable and nonsensical.
Frustrated, we asked them to pick it up and issue a refund. The scheduled pickup day arrived, and once again, no contact. When we called to follow up, we were told we were “on the list,” but no time frame could be provided for when they would actually come. To make matters worse, they couldn’t even confirm if the pickup would happen at all that day.
And any time you ask to speak with a manager, they refuse to get on the phone and avoid you at all costs.
This company is completely disorganized and unprofessional in both their communication and customer service. Avoid at all costs.

I do not write negative reviews. But Value City Furniture is at the bottom of the pile when it comes to customer experience. If you are not picking up then and there, don't fall for their o'rder now, pay now, and we will deliver' game.
We ordered our dining set in April 2024 from the South Blvd Charlotte location.
We were told it would take 3 months to deliver. We agreed unfortunately made the payment - here is what followed:
Got a call from delivery/warehouse tea, - 3 months became 5 months
After speaking to at least 5 people who put us from one person to another, 5 months became 4 months.
Then it went back to 5 months.
Then sometime after 5 months, their truck showed up.
But wait, they got the wrong parts and showed up 2 chairs short - this was supposed to be an 8 chair piece dining set. So we just had 6 chairs after waiting for 4 months.
Then after multiple calls to several people who took absolutely no accountability, they promised us a refund of the delivery fee
but wait they can't refund until all deliveries are made.
They came back with the table after a couple of weeks. no word on the missing chairs.
We were told the remaining chairs will come after 2 more months.
After 2 months they scheduled delivery I changed my schedule to be at home..
They canceled 1 day before. They rescheduled 2 weeks later.
Then they canceled on the day of arrival.
Then they rescheduled for today between 5 and 8 and I am writing this review at around 9 pm
I have spoken to several different people. The sales guy blames the office, the office blames delivery, the delivery blames sales, the delivery team says his hands are tied.
These guys are an absolute joke!!!

Value city furniture delivery originally I would give this company no Star. I purchased a table and six chairs back in August 2024 three months later I received the table and four chairs. I kept receiving delivery status notices but no one would ever deliver anything and I would not receive a phone call that they canceled it. I didn’t understand why they didn’t deliver. Then they lost my account completely meaning I was completely deleted out of their system. I ended up calling one of their many different phone numbers and I spoke with a lady named Sandra who worked directly with the GM. They have been very instrumental in getting the situation rectified. Long story short and several months later I have all of my chairs and I have received a discount for my troubles, my thank you goes to Sandra, the GM and the regional manager for all their help and resolving this issue. The value city place I went to was located in Fredericksburg and those people in there seem to have no clue as to what was going on. Thank God for the Woodbridge company who was the ones who helped me get the phone number and get in contact with the people who were able to help me.

Hello everyone if you have no other choice and you're really needed the furniture give it a try to get it from value city furniture...the sales person try to be nice to you so they can cheated you to get the furniture or the warranty and they never tells you everything about the warranty actually they don't want you to know everything so they can let you pay more money for the warranty and it's worth less. If you get any kind of warranty please try to understand it, otherwise you will lose it. The took. $400 from me because my warranty was expired.. After 5 years...in 2016 bought my furniture and the furniture supposed to be new but it was damaged I told the delivery guys I don't like the way it looks they told me to call the value city furniture and let them know. Guess what happened if I'm not mistaken a 5 day later the repair man came and he was repairing the sofa and he put a card board and some insulation and taped it up and it should be new sofa, told him no one set on it and you are doing the repair to it..I wasn't happy during the time I went back to the store I told them I have to get a new one or I'm going to bring everything back. I bought 4 sofa and they knew how much I paid. It cost me money it's not fir free.

Very bad customer service i aske for a supervisor i was thinking i may get some help but she was the worse one...I called 6 months before my warranty expired . What's the worst thing that they don't put what it was discussed on the phone they I did this I want everyone to be aware of it I got an offer $1,500 discount on a furniture before my warranty expired because the sofa damaged the cushion in the middle..I ended going to the value city furniture during the covid,but no one works there no furniture no one want to look at you and I been told when I got my warranty if I don't use it I get it back. No they said you have if I'm not mistaken six months after the five years and you loses it..

I ordered $4200 worth of furniture for my new home. Value City delivered this furniture in the very first hour of receiving our keys. We spent $250,000 on this home and had it inspected just a week prior. When we moved the furniture from the place the delivery men left it we realized they had done severe damage to our new floor. I called and a complaint was supposed to be sent to management 11 days goes by and nothing. I call back in and the complaint was never even submitted. Then the manager reaches out and informs me that since we moved the furniture they will not be held liable for the damage. I stated in the complaint calls and original emails that we moved the furniture, if we didn't how would we had even seen the damage? Their customer service is a joke and the fact that they are not taking responsibility for their actions is unacceptable. I will NEVER spend another penny with this manipulative business. This is absolutely unacceptable and they do not care about their customers at all. Now we have to take time off of work, and money out of our pocket to repair a floor that they damaged. I am absolutely devastated. What was supposed to be a good, exciting buying experience of furnishings our very first home has turned into an absolute nightmare and they couldn't care less.

Bought furniture from VCF Holland OH on Jun 7 2024.Manager was Kevin was there and he was dealing with us for delivery and all stuff we were suppose to get delivery of mattress and sofa in JULY 2024.First they just deliver mattresses and keep delaying delivery for sofa its 6 month now i am still waiting for my love seat. And they are still not giving me exact date of delivery it was suppose to deliver on NOV 29 2024.Now they called me said we cannot deliver your sofa on Nov 29.And crazy part is MANAGER KEVIN is offering $75 off on my purchase. He know how much stuff i have bought from there. This is a FULLSTOP for me and my family towards VCF. Never ever going there will pay extra at some other shop but not again to VCF. This is sad they ruined my festival.

My husband and I have been loyal Value City Furniture customers spanning a couple decades. We HAD always found great success with finding furniture and quality service until this most recent purchase.
Deceptive practice regarding informing customers of supply chain issues when make a purchase. We bought furniture in September. We initially had delays on our end but once we were ready there was initially a delay of a week then it turned into an 8week delay with a 20% chance (per the manager) of us getting the furniture (in which we had already paid in full) and then it would be March before getting what we bought. We opted to look for another set , which cost us more and we were NOT offered a discount for our troubles, even though we were told over the phone about a discount. Free delivery was all they could do.
We are extremely disappointed in this recent experience. We ended up canceling our order and went to a competitor for furniture. We will have it in less than 2 weeks.
We used to rave about VCF, they have lost our business and respect.
This store is a Rip-off
I went to the showroom and tried out a living room set. Sofa and recliner. In the showroom they were very comfortable, What was delivered to my home was terrible. The Sofa was bad and the recliner was worse. You sit in either one and your rear end sinks. The quality was terrible and not what I was buying. My refund was $456.00 less than what I paid. They say because of their 15 percent restocking fee and delivery. My problem is the quality of furniture I sat on in the store and the quality of what was sent is very different. Why does the customer have to pay for their shaky business practices. This is an intentional practice done by them. You either keep the orally furniture and pay full price or return it and get charged and you have nothing. Costumer Service says that's the return policy and can't return the rest of my money but we hope you do business with us again. Yeah really. This company is a rip off. I'll be complaining wherever I can

Beware don't trust Value Ciy. I ordered a living set to be delivered Nov 13, I never heard from them so I call on Nov 13 and talked to the manager. After a long list of excuses deliver was set for Nov 16. To receive a call the next day to be told they did have everything and best projected date is Jan 8. Now I am fighting to get my money back because I paid cash. NEVER AGAIN Value City
