Excellent replacement for an earlier Humax box

Delivery Great.
Product very poor chose Humax because we have two other Freeview PVRs, one of which is sadly on its last legs. Sadly I can't recommend this as a Freeview recorder. The Freely functionality is fine and works well with our home broadband. However, the software is so biased towards Freely use that the Freeview side is pretty much an afterthought. Setting a recording is very cumbersome as you can't jump to particular dates or channels in the Freeview EPG. You can set a series link for a recording but series aren't shown as such in the display of recorded programmes, they just display in the order they were recorded or alphabetically. If you can find the first program in a series amongst the jumble of recordings the next episode isn't offered for playback, despite there being a settings switch to allow this. The next thing to be recorded is played whether it's part of the series or not. There are multiple tuners allowing several things to be recorded at once. . I know this is a new device and this is just the first iteration of the firmware and software but, as it stands, it's just too frustrating to use for Freeview. Save £20 and buy the Manhattan T4-R box.

Item arrived within two days and is working perfectly. (Which is more than can be said for the many dirt cheap rubbish alternatives available.)

I ordered a new remote with arrived promptly. But the problem is this is the 3rd one I have had to replace as they just don't last.

Pauline contacted me from Humax Support asking if I now was able to complete the reset of my Humax FVP-5000T 'set top' Freeview recorder.

I did indeed get an unexpected 'pop up' asking me to complete terms and conditions and, on this attempt, the usual menu tab populated and both 'check boxes' became available.

If it was a service issue corrected at their end by 'remote repair' then I thank Humax very much indeed.

I've been uncharacteristically unwell and, on bad days, do rely on my Freeview, recordings and Apps to distract me so I really do thank you very much Pauline.

I shall remember your excellent service and support next time I buy or recommend such devices (that has been a very reliable product thus far).

I ordered the remote control, which was delivered the following day. Very speedy service, considering the website said delivery would take 2 to 5 days.

The remote was perfect and worked great for my mother.

A while ago I had a problem with my Humax Freeview remote not talking to my box, a lovely man told me what to do to reset the remote, which did the trick until recently when the buttons wouldn't work again so I contacted Humax again. another lovely man gave me some more advice & one option was to buy a new remote which arrived a few days later. This one didn't talk at all to the box so another call was made. Instruction on how to pair the remote & now it works perfectly. The help was perfect & patient, now my remote is also perfect

I could identify what I needed on the website, it was easy to order and delivered promptly.

Order process is ok but the Humax Aura EZ is not that good compared to its Freesat relative. It’s confusing as to what can be paused or recorded and what can’t. How difficult can it be to record or pause a Freeview channel?? Not that obvious with this device and I’m considering returning it.

UPDATE to Humax response below: I have reached out to the email addresses provided to address my complaint, but they are inactive/dead addresses. Please avoid Humax. I would recommend buying a Manhattan box instead, as they have much better reviews and reliable support.

Do not buy from Humax. I've had the misfortune of owning a Humax TV box for three months now, and it's truly the worst piece of technology I've ever bought. I contacted the customer service team, who were very helpful and gave suggestions on how to improve the performance, but the box stopped working again just a few minutes later. I've asked for a refund, but they refused. Just be warned: if you buy one of these TV boxes, you will wish you hadn't.

Ivan was very knowledgeable and solved my wifi problem very quickly.

Contacted Humax re problem I had where ALL my recorded programmes had disappeared for no reason! Immediate response from Humax (Marcus in Customer Support) which was brilliant, explaining what the problem might have been and easy to follow instructions. All fixed within 20mins! What more could you ask for, excellent customer experience therefore easily 10/10.

Marcus responded quickly to my question and gave me a very helpful answer which enabled me to fix the minor problem on my Humax..

I looked at the Humax website to find a contact for technical queries. I wrote to the email address identified and was quuckly given all the information I needed to address my concerns with the product, in a succinct and understnable format. Great service.

Also I bought it before there was a proper review.
I realize now it's a rushed unfinished project with loads of bugs and errors.
It's still in its unopened box and I'm still using my other Aura.
I wished I'd waited now.
Good old Humax lol..

Had problems with handset Carl gave excellent advice and customer care. The problem was solved in a short time.
Would recommend and would use company again.
