Publicly Humiliated by Store Manager Over Their Own Mistake
I had one of the most embarrassing and disrespectful retail experiences I’ve ever encountered at the Westfield store, and it was entirely due to the behaviour of the store manager, Safina Khan.
My mother was trying on clothes in the fitting rooms—something completely normal. At no point did any staff member mention a limit on items, despite someone being stationed right at the entrance. There was zero guidance, zero organisation, and clearly no management of the fitting room area.
After my mother finished and we were about to pay, Safina Khan approached her and, instead of handling things professionally, chose to raise her voice and speak to her in a hostile, accusatory tone in front of other customers and staff. She repeatedly told my mother she had taken “too many items” and “should know better,” as if she had done something wrong—when in reality, the failure was entirely on the store’s side for not communicating any policy.
Let’s be clear: this wasn’t a polite reminder or a quiet word. This was loud, confrontational, and completely humiliating. Customers were literally turning around to watch. No one deserves to be spoken to like that—especially not over something so minor and easily avoidable.
What makes it worse is that we had just spent around £340 in that store. To be treated with that level of disrespect after spending that kind of money is honestly shocking.
If you have rules, train your staff to communicate them properly. Don’t wait until after the fact to publicly shame customers because of your own lack of organisation.
This experience completely ruined our visit. We left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and unwelcome—and we absolutely will not be returning.
Avoid if you expect basic respect as a customer.

Similar to all the other reviews, I sent my items back over three weeks ago now, I sent multiple emails to the only customer service email even subjecting it urgent however no response. Tried the number and even amidst calling during the working hours, the phone line said that we are currently closed LOL it’s secondhand embarrassment .
Finally got through to someone today told them situation and he said he has processed my refund. His name was Mohsin. I asked him why it’s taken me to have to call after weeks to get a refund and why no one has responded to the emails and he avoided the answer and just said that the refund is processed again. I questioned again and he cut the phone on me 🤣🤣🤣

Avoid at all costs (Online order, UK)
You would think a company like Ethnc (UK) would have a better returns system, good customer service and their own return facility. However, no, not true. They use another company to send items and process the return.
The sizing is big. A size XS should fit a 6-8 (UK), as it is the smallest size they offer. However it could fit a size 10-14 (UK). So, if you are a smaller size, you'll find clothes are big and oversized. It might work for you, as that is the style. Now on to the material, it is quite thin. But, I understand lawn can be thin when it comes to some brands. However, cut outs do not have backing underneath even. You'll have to wear something underneath and it will be noticeable. Although I'm not sure why most of their items are lawn or cambric fabric types, which are thinner and see through. I would expect more of a range of fabric for a brand which is prices as high as they are. The trousers can be long for some people, some styles and shorter for some people, other styles. So, it can be confusing.
I returned most of the items, reasons which are above. I have returned their goods in good order, some not even tried on. I packed the items perfectly with the labels above, so it would be easier for the staff to process. Added the returns paper inside. If you are lucky to get your returns processed, it takes weeks (sometimes 3 weeks) for it to be processed from their outsourced returns facility. You wouldn't get a notification before this even to say your turn has reached them or that it is being processed. The facility can make mistakes and not process all your returns.
Customer service try and help. Have they refunded me. No. Waited months. Emailed, no reply. Called and called, with a confirmation of the refund and no refund in the bank account. I have been nice to customer service, but still did not see a return receipt or a refund. I get the same message, investigating. I'll call again, you'll get your refund in x days. Nothing appears in the back account. I do this time after time. It's hard to get through to customer service in the morning. Customer service hang up the phone, or it cuts off after 8 minutes, weirdly. But, they don't call back, so you have to call again. They add waiting music, if they need to talk to a manager, but the phone cuts off. Everything, but sending my money back to me.
My advice to Ethnc is to have their own warehouse in the UK to ensure better service (like other Pakistani brands who are now in the UK). Have a better customer service process, phone calls should be transparent and Ethnc should communicate with their outsourced facility centre, answer emails within 5 working days, returning customers money once refunds have been processed and a timescale for refunds (like other Pakistani brands in the UK). As there are many negative reviews, I'm hoping they will contact the fulfillment centre to question why there are issues with processing and refunds, especially as Ethnc is using Synergy Retail Support Ltd. These will be the reasons they'll lose an online customer base in the UK.
Refuse to shop with them now, especially online.
My advice to customers is to buy instore. Remember items are more expensive than last year, but this is true in Pakistan, too. Try items on and inspect them whilst in-store before buying. Make sure you like the items and look at the details like cut outs. Keep the receipt safe, ask for a physical copy.
If you want to buy online, look at the fabric types. Zoom into pictures to see if they are see through. Look at the size chart before buying. Remember to take pictures/ videos of the items/ parcel. Keep the delivery receipt from the post office, you'll need that. It can take week and weeks (3-5 weeks) for returns to be processed, not the 72 hours they note on their website. Otherwise, you'll have hound their customer service with no result most times, unless you are an influencer, I guess.

Returned items after they gave the go ahead as they were very big in size. Since then with tracking it shows they have received the items but no email sent saying it has been received as per their website says will receive email confirmation within 72 hours. Emailed them several times asking when will refund be given. They do not reply to email and have not refunded £65. Clearly customer service is not their priority.
Avoid! Worse customer service
I never leave reviews, but this experience left me no choice. I wouldn’t even give one star if I had the option. This is by far the worst company I’ve ever ordered from. I purchased two suits for a total of £140 and returned both in early March. The return was delivered — I tracked it myself — yet they’ve completely ignored my refund. It’s been a month nearly and they still haven’t processed my refund.
I’ve emailed them repeatedly with zero response. At this point it feels outright dishonest. The customer service is non-existent, and the whole situation comes across as a scam. Their policy is a lie.

I made the stupid decision to order a suit from Ethnic for 130 pounds tempted by their flashy photos and the bold claim of tracked 48 hour delivery. What an absolute farce that promise was.
The 48 hours passed with zero sign of the package no tracking updates no movement nothing. I immediately started hounding them. Emails vanished into oblivion not a single reply not even a pathetic auto response. Phone calls were pure torture getting bounced to a bunch of lads who clearly did not speak English fluently mumbling the exact same scripted lie on repeat the package is on its way ma'am, it will arrive soon. No facts no tracking proof no escalation just endless stalling and obvious deception.
Days turned into a nightmare with the tracking frozen like a dead website. I had no option left but to contact my bank and demand they reverse the entire payment because these crooks showed zero intention of delivering the goods or refunding my money voluntarily. They had already pocketed my cash and ghosted me completely.
Only after the bank clawed my funds back did something finally arrive from them a lazy automated bot email with some generic nonsense, no explanation no accountability just a robotic trigger that proves they only react when forced by a chargeback and even then they do the bare minimum.
This is not poor customer service this is systematic incompetence bordering on outright fraud. They snatch your payment in seconds then vanish, disappear ignore and lie when you need help. From what countless others are screaming across Trustpilot and elsewhere ignored emails, non existent phone support, undelivered orders, wrong items, poor quality fabric, see through garbage, wrong sizes, endless excuses and people forced to battle banks just to get their own money returned. Reviews call them scammers, outright frauds unreliable ghosts, who do not deserve even zero stars if that were possible.
Do yourself a massive favour and run far away from Ethnic uk. There are dozens of legitimate places to buy suits and ethnic wear that actually ship what you pay for, communicate like adults and do not treat customers as disposable cash machines. This outfit has earned every scrap of its toxic reputation through pure laziness dishonesty and contempt for anyone who dares buy from them.
Save your money save your sanity and never give these clowns a single penny. You have been warned in the strongest possible terms do not buy from Ethnic unless you enjoy being robbed and insulted.
