I purchased a Granny Smith apple tree from Fast Growing Trees and contacted them in August 2025 regarding damage to the trunk. Their representative advised me that the tree could take 6–12 months to recover and encouraged me to reach back out if it continued to deteriorate so they could assess the situation and discuss a resolution.

I followed their advice and gave the tree time to recover, but unfortunately, it eventually died.

When I contacted them again, I was told the warranty had expired, even though I had followed their recommendations. I later learned that the warranty had already expired when I originally contacted them.

While their representatives were polite and apologetic, the only assistance offered was a 30% discount toward another purchase.

I understand that warranties have limitations, but I find it disappointing that I was encouraged to wait and follow up about a possible resolution, only to be told there was nothing more they could do.

I expected better follow-through and customer service, especially after taking the time to follow their advice.

I’ve ordered so many plants and trees from Trees.com. I am so pleased with their customer service if plants have issues. I always purchase the two year warranty because it’s so important when buying so many trees and other plants. Customer service has always been excellent.

First time ordering here, and the last. I ordered 6 1 gallon plants in spring, 4 looked in poor condition upon arrival. I reached out to customer service who told me to give them time and brushed off the concern. Planted these in a woodland area where we already had other larger hemlocks established over the past few years. Within 6 months the 4 that didn’t look great on delivery had died. I reached out to customer service for replacements under the guarantee, only to be told it didn’t apply. They instead offered me 10% off another order. I declined and will not order from trees.com again. Money wasted and bait and switch tactics. If you’re in Atlanta, instead spend your money with BL Mullinax or Servescape. Better plants, pricing, and service.

I bought 3 hydrangeas. One 1 gallon and two quart size. The gallon plant was fine, reasonably sized and healthy. One of the quart size plants was fine and approximately12” tall. The second quart size plant was tiny, maybe 6” tall) and after measuring the container it was only 24 ounces, not even a quart. I contacted the company and was first told that was just the way it was. I sent a picture of the small plant and they offered a 20% discount for this one. I recently had an order delivered from The Tree Center and was far more satisfied. They will get my business from now on

Bought my Bloodgood Maple Tree 0n April 22, 2026. It arrived with a web and leaves with spots everywhere.
Since then I have contacted Trees.com three times and received the run-around instead of fulfillment of the one year guarantee promised by Trees. The tree is almost dead, sent photos showing it's dismal appearance and still am asked to wait again. Disgusted.

I ordered two trees last fall. They arrived and well-packaged. In Early winter, I planted them. They settled in during the winter, and sprang back to life in the spring. Only through the brutal summer heat, one of trees died. Trees.com sent me replacement tree under warranty. Thanks a lot!

The site has great selection and very detailed information on the plant and plant care. Their AI chat bot is so amazing!! I've had 4 deliveries now, and 3 were awesome. One had an issue, but their customer care worked with me and I am very pleased with their response. I have been very impressed with the quality of the roots on every plant I've received. The roots are hearty and damp, well embedded in the soil, with no bunching or coiling. So its super easy to fluff it a bit and get it into the ground. I will keep using them.

I received a Jacaranda tree which looks nothing like what they advertise. It's a stick with a few sprouts on it from 4 to 9 inches. Looks like something Charlie Brown procured for Christmas. Comes in 3 gallon (10"diameter) pot) for $160 bucks!!! If I had done my homework, I would have found that I could have gotten a 7 gallon for that money from a local nursery. They are not anywhere near a bargain. Very dissapointed. Won't buy from Trees.com again.

I ordered two plants, Pink Rose of Sharon 3 to 4 foot, and a Japanese Maple 2 to 3 foot. I will never order from here again. First the Pink Rose came and was half dead, yellow leaves, curly leaves and visible pest infestation. I called customer service and their team said it was fine. It's not doing well. It came at the 3 to 4 foot height. Next I received the Japanese Maple, which is not healthy and the height was right at 1 foot tall, maybe a bit shorter. Sorry that is not 2 to 3 feet. It was really quite comical when I opened the box. I would not order from here, go to a local nursery so you can pick out a healthy tree/plant. Even Lowes & Home depot have healthier plants and when the plants are dying they go on clearance for a huge reduction, however, I would choose a healthy plant which I expected I would receive. Sorry Trees.com, you are really lacking in quality.

This company does not honor their warranty on bad trees/refunds/replacements. They drag you through the coals while trying to access it and in the end seem really not to want to honor it. Very frustrating company to deal with.

I ordered 14 trees from Trees.com in June, and to say this experience has been disappointing would be an understatement!

I planted all 14 trees as soon as possible after receiving them and followed proper care instructions. Despite my best efforts, 13 of the 14 trees died! To their credit, Trees.com did replace those 13 trees. Unfortunately, 6 of the replacement trees died as well!

I did absolutely everything I could to keep these trees alive. I watered, monitored, and cared for them diligently. What makes this even more frustrating is that I purchased trees from a local store, gave them the exact same care and growing conditions, and those trees are thriving!

When I contacted Trees.com again, I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I would have gladly accepted store credit or replacement trees. Instead, they refused both options and offered to replace ONE tree — and I would still have to pay $3 for shipping! Seriously? After losing 19 trees between my original order and the replacements, that's their solution?

I understand that not every tree is guaranteed to survive, but losing this many trees, especially when others planted and cared for under the same conditions are doing perfectly fine, raises serious concerns about the quality of their products.

Customer service isn't just about replacing a product once. It's about standing behind what you sell and making things right when there is clearly an ongoing problem.

I've invested considerable time, effort, and money into these trees, only to be left with frustration and disappointment.

Buyer beware! I would strongly recommend purchasing trees from a reputable local nursery where you can see what you're getting. I certainly won't be ordering from Trees.com again.

SCAM ALERT! Terrible value for the money. TREE pricing, SAPLING sized! STAY AWAY from Trees.com. I bought a weeping cherry, and it was, in fact, 4' tall as promised. However, the trunk was barely an inch in diameter, and the top was itsy-bitsy. Maybe this was a $40 plan, but they charged $200! Now you know.

Ordered 10 3 gal plants. They sent me 10 roots in 3 gal pots? Pretty sad. I expected much better quality.

That’s extremely disappointing, and I’m thoroughly dissatisfied with this experience.

I had higher expectations for the quality of both the plants and the customer service provided by Trees.com. Unfortunately, this experience has fallen well short of those expectations.

A company’s reputation is built on the quality of its products and how it stands behind them, and this experience has left me questioning both.

I wanted to plant fruit trees for the deer and of course myself. I reached out and staff helped me 100%. The delivery process was flawless and was done as they promised. They pretty much walked me through what I needed done on my end to be successful with planting the trees. After planting 12 different apple trees one didn't make it. I was told to wait till spring to see if it comes back and if not they will get me out a new one, to me thats great customer service.

I bought 4 trees since I saw their alive and thrive guarantee. All 4 died within 90 days. I contacted them about replacements and they said they only guaranteed the trees for 60 days. It seems on items they change their guarantee. You're better off buying from Lowes or Home Depot as you can see the product and they do give a 1 year guarantee.

Nice response from the company. When a customer spends over $500 for an order you should stand behind your product. The order stated alive and thrive guarantee and a 60 day guarantee. Customers beware they don't stand behind their product. Go elswhere.

Pros--
The plants have been MUCH healthier than any other company I've had shipped, and healthier than 75% of my local nursery's supply (although I love my local nursery).

I think there is a ton of care in how they ship. I've had other places ship and it is like they threw the plants in a box and crossed their fingers they'd live, just about! XD

The reason I won't give them a 5 is that I find their guarantee highly misleading and they refer to it over & over on their site. I didn't read the contractual info about the 'guarantee' until after I'd made my purchase. Dumb, I'll grant you. You have to pay for the SHIPPING AND HANDLING of trees they replace. ...What? You don't even pay S&H when you order the first time, unless you order something really small. I certainly wouldn't do that, and it would never occur to me their 'guarantee' wouldn't do that. Besides, how much is 'handling'? As much as a company wants it to be, I suppose.

I think it's a highly deceptive guarantee and in my opinion it hurts the company a great deal. If that's your 'guarantee', just do away with it. You clearly don't have confidence you can fulfill/make good on it, so don't make it in the first place.

Also, from what I've read from the company since realizing their guarantee was, um, NOT, makes me think you must practically give blood and document your trees fingerprints before you can hope for a sad settlement offer of giving you your replacement. And you're not getting your money back, either.

It's really a shame to me when companies that actually have a really good product add a highly shady (yes, there's a pun there) promise they don't even need to do. Just be honest. If you can't afford replacements, say you can't, except for delivery issues or whatever you really mean in your 'guarantee'.

I ordered six Muskogee crepe myrtles on Sept. 29, 2026. When I checked out, it said "Will ship the week of Oct. 14." I thought, wow, that's two weeks from now, but sure, whatever. Well Oct. 14 gets here and I don't hear any updates. So I wait til literally the end of the week, Sunday, Oct. 18, to reach out. I ask a customer service rep in the chat "hey, where's my trees. When are they gonna ship?" and I'm told that the trees are actually NOT in stock. That they won't be until January 2027. No one communicated this with me. If I hadn't reached out to customer service, I'd have just been waiting on my trees that would have taken months to arrive, if they ever did. This lack of communication was the worst part. It's frustrating that the trees weren't in stock, but I was mostly angry that it just left me in limbo. The customer service associate Israel was awesome, though. 5-stars for Israel; he killed it and was so polite and helpful. This overall 1-star review is for Trees.com as a whole. I asked for a refund, got it, and just now ordered the trees from another website. If you don't have them in stock, don't let people order them.

HORRIBLE! Bought a 3 gallon shrub that (according to their charts) was supposed to be 2 to 3 feet tall. Mine was only 18 inches and rather skimpy. All they offered was a 30 percent discount. My final total for this shrub was 80.00, and customer service didn't care that I was a loyal customer who has bought many things previously. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CARE. BEWARE! I was ripped-off.
