AVOID!!

We bought a new time clock from Time Sytems UK, which is supposed to ease the admin side of doing the payroll for our company.
The system was advertised as auto clock in/clock out and that it would automatically import all data into our payroll system through a different piece of software - we have not had this.
The clock itself will only clock people in and not out, so I'm not sure how it will automatically work out employees hours.
When we have asked for help, we are told we have to pay for remote training for £175+VAT per hour (something which our computers don't support).
Other emails tell us we have free support?
When we have asked to return the clock as we believe it is faulty, we are told we are unable to as they don't accept returns in any circumstance.
This company are awful. We are now left out of pocket with a clocking terminal that we are unable to use!
If anyone could offer any help, we would appreciate it! All we want to do is return the terminal as it doesn't work as described.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Do not buy from this company. I bought a ribbon for my clocking machine and it was the wrong one. I can not return it or get a refund.

I returned the wrong ribbon to your company at our expense and have not heard from you at all. Please can I have a refund.

Really, would AVOID AT ALL COST!

We had bought a Time Systems face scanner a while ago but hadn't activated it at the time. Recently, when we came to installing the software on our new pc, and requesting a registration code (Which is ridiculous that you have to email them to get this by the way, seeing as they take hours to respond to emails!) they said that it couldn't be processed because we had already used an activation code.

After countless emails back and forth, they kept on insisting that we pay £100+Vat before they would give us a new registration code.

In the emails, they make sure you know that the help service is £500+VAT and that if you have any issues installing it, that you would have to take this out before they would help.

We'll see how easily the installation goes.

After dealing with one person, and paying the invoice, I get an email from someone new, to say that "unfortunately we are unable to assist with your request for a licence."

I've been on at this company for a licence for several weeks now and they've given me the impression that once the payment is made, the licence will be given. Makes me think that they've seen this review and are being spiteful in order to annoy me.

Excellent Service

From the time of sending an e-mail to the support team, detailing the issue with our GEO Face 200 system, I had the problem resolved within a few hours. Knowledgeable and helpful staff (Damien) helped to get us back up and running.

Wish I read this before buying from them. Be careful if you want to cancel your contract! You need to be wearing a fluffy hat and pink pajamas and send your request by carrier pigeon or you wont get out of the contract. Good Luck!

If you cancelled 60 days prior to the renewal date there would be nothing to pay. You are able to cancel by email. Invest in another system if you want reliability.

We purchased the Geotime Wifi machine and shortly after, it stopped working. After a lot of messaging back and forth, they acknowledged that the machine was faulty, and we received a new one. However, we lost all the data because their technicians said it could not be saved.
A new machine was installed and stopped working in less than two months. The customer service representative told us that it was probably our fault. They never sent a technician to inspect; they just said the problem was on our end. We have all sorts of different equipments and machines in our company, that don't break.
We requested a refund, as this machine has only cost time and effort and we lost all information. Their solution was to send a third machine.
I requested to speak to a manager over the phone, and they refused.
I would recommend investing in another system, as this one is not reliable.

I’d be very careful if you want to…

I’d be very careful if you want to order from this company.

Sadly, unless you fancy a fee of £499+VAT per year for them to reply to their emails I would seriously not bother. It appears out machine has updated and will no longer report to their software. On contact them they will simply reply that cannot help as you don’t have support - however, it’s cheaper to buy a new machine than comes with 12 months support rather than pay for their support - makes sense?

A response from (NAMED PERSON BECAUSE THEY DONT LIKE IT WHEN YOU NAME SOMEONE) - "We are not trying to be unfair to our customers. We actually stayed open throughout the entire pandemic at great cost to our company just so we could provide technical assistance to those who were in need.

Since then due to inflation, our manufacturers and developers have put their prices up considerably, which means unfortunately we must do the same in order to cover our own costs. We have had to put the prices up for many of our products and services. It’s not something we wanted to do, but we have been forced to due to the changing nature of this industry.

Like many software companies out there, we have a technical support department who provide expert knowledge and assistance to those who are experiencing technical issues they cannot fix themselves. The fact we charge for this service is standard procedure"

Let’s now look at that statement. From this I take it that the smaller company is being absolutely shafted to fund their bigger ones. So if you're a company with thousands of staff and multiple machines your £499+VAT seems alright value however when you're a normal sized company who all of a sudden have a machine that get an issue for no reason prepare to put it in the bin! The average sizes company is basically funding their day to day activities.

Our reply: “As much as I appreciate the reply I don’t think that’s done you any justice. From that I’ve taken it as companies who have 20 machines and 5000+ users seem to be really benefiting from this whilst it’s the smaller company who are losing out. This could simply be rectified by offering a support scale of the size of the users on the machine – like you do with the data.

The bottom line is your refusing to assist unless we pay you £499+VAT. Its noted and I think we will just throw it away, we’re not being held liable to pay that for a machine that you have sold and now refusing to support.

I will also be looking in to the warranty on this machine as the bottom line is if it’s not working, it’s no use to me and we should be liable to be forced to pay nearly as much as the machine itself has cost for you to one thing on it.”

Our comment on a relevant sized pricing – went ignored.

When we requested the technical guide, they simply said there wasn’t one - connivant.

We have passed this over now to our legal department to follow up on.

Be very careful if you want to order from this company - you’d be better off ordering elsewhere!

After being backed in to a corner we asked to pay the outrageous support fee. (NAMED PERSON BECAUSE THEY DONT LIKE IT WHEN YOU NAME SOMEONE) rejected and said because we left them a bad review it would have to be a management decision.

Turns out they don’t like people leaving negative reviews and don’t take too kindly to it!

We have now ordered a new machine with support from a rival company. Our legal advisor is looking further in to where we stand after ordering a machine that is defective and them refusing to support it – even paid for!

I really would advise anyone looking to order from this company to seriously think and do you research before ordering.

Slow response and unhelpful staff

The Support team do not care and are so slow to respond. They have so many big companies on board, they do not have time to assist the small user despite them taking your annual support money. So if you are a small company ie below 100 employees do not entertain this company.

22nd June 2022 I updated Review to add;
I have now had a response from my review, which took 2 weeks. My point exactly.

They also think that I would go to the trouble of writing a review if it was just "one" occasion. Time Systems IT IS EVERY OCCASION.

Terrible customer service!

We purchased the time machine at the end of February and had an electrician install it and our IT support company come in to configure the software. Our very experienced IT manager could not get the machine to talk to our server (I don't know the technical terms but he was as frustrated as us)
We tried endlessly that day to contact the company, speaking once on the phone to someone who said we must send an email to register the fault, which we did.
By the end of day we still had not heard from them reference any kind of support.
Our IT support left and continued to try and and reach them. I was on holiday for a week and our Director had to continue when they decided to contact us.
Two weeks later we still have no time machine, our original antiquated equipment has be uninstalled and this piece of rubbish is flashing a light at us continually!!! Luckily we have a trustworthy team but they are having to write down their hours.
This company are awful to deal with.
The most recent suggestion is that we send the item back and have it inspected for faults. My guess is they won't find any faults.
I came back from holiday yesterday and wrote to 2 different email addresses requesting a returns label and an address to send the machine to, guess what? No response whatsoever 24hours later!!
I have no words and wish that I'd read these reviews before purchasing this machine.
Edit: we now have to return the machine at our expense, They won't refund this pile of rubbish under any circumstance. If there's a fault they will send us a new machine!!! No refund under any circumstance, that's what Wendy has just told me¬!!!!!

Your response is so devious, it makes me angry that you keep telling people to return the item for inspection/assessment and you will replace it IF it's faulty. I'm almost positive you "will be unablet to find any faults". Our company have better things to spend our time on than sending this piece of absolute tat back at our own expense! You are the most awful company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. Scammers at best. And to keep your points up you actually respond with more rubbish. Unbelievable that you're still presenting people with this trash!

I have received an email today, as per below. They now say I can return the item and they will collect it!! And then evaluate... The machine is not being returned and as soon as we have a bone fide time recorder installed (happening 17th) I will smash the thing and post a picture here, just because I can!

Licence issue with Time System

Following an issue with the software, we emailed a support request and got a phone call in about 2.5hrs.
The support was professional and quick and the issue was resolved within 20mins.

Hook & Reel Tactics

As a young man straight from school working in a large joinery firm, I remember the monolithic green time machine that punched the employees cards, day after day, year after year, as true and hardworking as the users that thumped its black top hat. It was a TimeSystems machine.
Those days are obviously gone and forgotten as its all about getting companies to buy into their machines, which I did given my experience with the brand, hoping that this new bio tech toy would serve my company as I remembered.
Unfortunately this is now not the case, as after the first few months of ownership I had to upgrade our main PC which carried the software for the time machine. Once loaded on the new PC, it asked for a new license which after much discussion with the robots at Time headquarters, I caved and paid for a new one, reluctantly, as without it the machine which cost over £350 would be a brick.
So you can imagine how frustrated I was when a few months later, weirdly on the anniversary of registration, it locked me out again. Thinking this was possibly due to a windows update that either corrupted or changed something with the network on which the machine ran, I could just email TimeSystems support and explain the issue and get it booted up again. But of course not. Guess what, they wanted another £99 for a new license link, or for the gullible you could pay £143.88 + vat annually to get "support" including the license. I refused to pay anymore and got nowhere with customer service so I decided to bow out and take the hit of the expense of over £500 in total.
As like most people I don't like having my pants pulled down and slapped repeatedly whilst paying for it. Nothing wrong with it as long as your consenting adults. Call me old fashioned, I just don't like it.
So please, anyone reading this and considering this company, know that they are in for the long haul and that haul is your hard earned cash. The finger print reader on the machine was pretty fussy and the actual software side is dare I say it, antiquated. Besides, there's now plenty alternate software/apps that control this in an exemplary way that cost less and you can try before you buy. Shout out to Planday and the like.
Stay clear or get hooked.
Just to clarify, I don't have anything against masochism.
Reply is proof they do not want to engage with the real issue at hand. This was the same email they wrote to me at time of query.

Hello, We are sorry to hear that Windows has caused you an issue with your system. Having checked your account we can see that you purchased your Time and Attendance system on 1st October 2020. At time of purchase you were provided with a free period of software support, which has now expired.

In order for us to assist with your issue and provide on going technical support clients are required to have support cover in place. We do appreciate all our clients but in order for us to provide a good level of service we are unable to offer unending free support.

We understand that this is not the answer you had hoped for but we do hope that we have explained why we do have to charge for services and the work we carry out.

Very helpful support from Mustafa

Very helpful support from Mustafa. Working with third parties happens a lot when you work in IT and this was a great experience. Friendly and helpful.

Only improvement I'd like to see is if I could directly call the support line.
