Update: the return collection has now failed as well. After waiting all day, despite asking for a call with an estimated arrival time, the driver arrived at around 4 pm and refused to take the items, saying they needed to be wrapped.

I then contacted UPN and was told that The Wooden Floor Store had not requested wrapping on the collection. The driver also apparently recorded the issue as the items being “not palletised”, which is not what happened.

Perhaps if the company spent less time responding on Trustpilot to salvage its image, and more time actually organising collections properly, customers would not be left wasting entire days because of avoidable mistakes.

I had a disappointing experience with The Wooden Floor Store. I ordered flooring/stair products after seeking guidance on what would best match my existing stairs, but the suggested product was noticeably different in colour, much thinner and flimsier than expected, and unsuitable for the stair installation.

This caused real inconvenience, as I had arranged fitters around the order. I also had issues with missing items and confusing communication.

When I asked to return the order, I was quoted £68 + VAT for pallet collection, plus a further £12 + VAT for a pallet strap. This seems excessive, especially as the return is lighter than the original delivery.

Overall, the product recommendation was poor, the return process has been frustrating, and I feel the customer is being left to absorb unreasonable costs.

RESPONSE TO REPLY

To clarify, I was advised that the flooring would not be an “exact” match. That is very different from being told it would not match at all. No reasonable customer would knowingly buy flooring that looks completely different from the stairs it is supposed to connect to. Customers are not flooring experts; we rely on your expertise, particularly because this is an online store and customers depend on accurate advice before placing an order.

I purchased both the stair product and the flooring from you. Even if they were not a perfect match, they should at least have been similar enough in colour so that the finished floor did not look completely mismatched.

More importantly, colour is not the only issue. The flooring has bevelled/click edges designed to connect with other boards, whereas the stair product does not appear to connect with it in the same way. That creates a practical fitting issue which should have been identified and explained before I placed the order. These are your products, and you are the expert. Colour aside, this compatibility issue should have been clearly advised.

Great service, brilliant company and product is value for money compared to other companies who offer the same product.Jack is very knowledgeable and helpful and I’m delighted with my new stairs. I was sent the wrong colour laminate and this was dispatched immediately at no extra cost. I am not disappointed!

Terrible experience from the beginning and not ended yet.Delivery pushed back twice and with fitter at my property,waiting for the flooring,guaranteed a.m delivery slot,cancelled again with no reason given.Currently waiting on a call back….on previous form,imagine I’ll be waiting a while.Usually read online reviews before ordering - didn’t in this case.Expensive lesson learned!!!
ETA - The three calls were all from me to you.Almost 3pm and still no call back.Still no idea when delivery will be fulfilled.

Very prompt response after ordering the wall panels online and the next day I was emailed asking when I would like them delivered. I replied with the requested day but unfortunately my reply was missed & I had to re contact them to find out what was happening after they didn’t arrive on the requested day. However they were most apologetic & advised it was human error & re arranged a delivery day, which was very prompt and kept me in the loop rest of way. Wall panels are lovely, great quality & look amazing. Would’ve gave 5* had it not been for the small blip. Will most definitely recommend them to family & friends.

Ordered samples on 3 working day delivery. Paid £5 delivery charge, 9 days later still no samples and 2 emails to them asking for updates and no reply. If this is how the samples are treated then imagine the stress of actually placing an order for materials and having the same experience. No thanks.

Floor samples were carefully wrapped and arrived safely in a box. Nice size to see the colour and design up close.

Faultless service received. Great customer service. Quick and easy to communicate by phone or email. Always ready to answer questions and give support. Sample orders arrive within a couple of days. Great quality samples.

The product seems fine. Delivery was a mess with no show on the first date and late on the second agreed slot.

Looking for flooring for my new home I was very impressed with the helpful unbiased advice given in helping me in my final selection of flooring. It was good to speak to someone who knew their product well and was able to explain the pros and cons involved in the different types of finishes etc. I would recommend a visit to their store.

Order was easy and delivery was perfect. Everything was so professional.

We went into the store not knowing really what we wanted/needed.
We spoke to Ollie who was so lovely, helpful, and walked us through our options.
We made a decision v quickly, and customer service has been exemplary from start to finish.
The guy who fitted the floor, who was recommended was brilliant too.

We attended a few other flooring stores with no interaction yet this store in Nottingham has been by far impressive. James helped us significantly. We went in to look at a product we seen online to which the colour was different from on screen to in person. James interacted with us and asked us about the area we are covering. He asked what our preferences were also. He then explained the difference in SPC to Engineered and what would be more suited to our floors current state. The thing is the flooring we wanted wouldn't of lasted and was alot more in price yet James didn't force a sale out of us instead he advised us, professionalIy I may add to the right flooring which in retrospect was cheaper. Our fitter explained not many places would of been that honest and also mentioned the same issues we would of faced if James did not warn us.
Ordered and was told a week for delivery which turned into a nightmare, yet that is not to be reflected on this company. It was the dishonest delivery service. In the end we called James who managed to liase with the delivery service and got us sorted even though he didn't have to. Going the extra mile for customers for sure. Now the flooring is fitted and had several compliments we wish to point others in this direction for the best service. My parents have also gone on to purchase from James.
The only thing we would advise is that the times of opening may vary to Google. We went on a Monday and the shop was shut at 15.55. The same two weeks later.

I received a sample from The Wooden Floor Store and was really impressed with the quality. The wood looks premium and the finish feels durable. Delivery was quick and the sample was well-packaged, so it arrived in perfect condition. It’s definitely helped me get a better idea of how the flooring will look in my space. Overall, a very positive experience so far!

Dealt with Geoff and Danielle. They were so helpful and informative. Gave lots of helpful advise. Put in touch with the floor fitter and new floor installed within weeks.
Thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to replace a new floor!

Ordered on the 12th April - payment debited on the 13th April. 10 days later, 22nd April, I am still waiting for my ordered to be fullfilled.
